- Sir Keir Starmer set out plans to tear up planning red tape, reform the economy and restore trust in politics in a sweeping set of changes in the Labour Government’s first King’s Speech.
The Prime Minister vowed to “turn the page on an era of politics as noisy performance and return it to public service and start the work of rebuilding our country” with a programme containing 40 proposed pieces of legislation.
Conservative MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown joins Talk’s Alex Phillips to discuss this further.

Keir Starmer has played a blinder. I applaud him. I knew he would implement socialist policies when he got power and I applaud him for it.
For 14 years, the working man has been exploited, looked at as a burden, the middle and upper class have exploited them, food banks didn’t exist in 2010. There are now 2.1 million people using food banks.
All I hear is we are going to pay for this from those with a substantial amount of money in their bank accounts. Good. The working class have been paying with poverty for fourteen years thanks to these evil tories.
Now the shoe is on the other foot and those who exploited the working man are going to have to part with more of their wealth, I have zero sympathy for them. They didn’t with us when we were all on our knees.

Just before I go on a rant I have been on this TV channel and Been interviewed by this lady and have a positive impression of her. Now the rant we face global challenges with shipping meaning its near impossible to safely ship goods. Now my point.
