Always so happy to see a new post from you come up on my CZcams open page! I loved seeing your oldies. I had a cross stitch shop in the 80’s so I am familiar with the fabrics and designs from back then. Your duck decoys for your brother we’re done on a fabric called hopscotch. I loved Annie’s toys and how beautiful she is. I will be 73 this year also. I’m just getting back to cross stitch after 30 years and can’t see the fine linens anymore even with a top of the line magnifier so I’m working on 14, 11 and 7 count fabrics. They are beautiful non the less. I also did crewel embroidery. A lot of my old needlework I am not taking out of frames and making into quilts. Sorry about this book I’m writing, just want to share. So many retreats now. I love your zoom idea also. The more we can share with our favorite community the merrier and not everyone can make a retreat. Your WIPS are beautiful and I’m always amazed how much you get done. Your Chester piece brought tears to my eyes as well as your cross stitch to your family. I received some back when my sister passed away. The backs were dated in the mid to late 80’s and they mean so much to me. I’ll have to show my hexie quilt next video. I love to piece them together. Hi Sarah. The embroidery piece you did for your mother is beautiful, especially with the cat. You reminded me of a cat I stitched for my mother which came back to me after she passed. I have it on my wall now and love it. She was a cat lover and I am too. I enjoyed hearing your story about your English paper piecing. I also sew and quilt but have never done any paper piecing. I think you have inspired me to try it!!

Wow, that piece for your mom is incredible. Chenille is my favorite accessory for my pillows. And Yay for Chester. It looks beautiful. Ha Ha Ha I am cracking up about the dog treats. Quite good. To the dog. So funny. Writing comments for floss tubes is easy but doing a Zoom would make me quite shy. I would however be willing to try it in a group of 10.

My sisters and I zoom every three weeks and it feels almost like being together!! They aren’t cross stitchers 🙁. I’m retired, so anytime is good, although I think the afternoon would be best for me as I get my chores and errands done in the morning! I have been following your progress on Strawberry Fields by Blackbird and it is so adorable. I do enjoy stitching 1 over 1 on 25 count so I think I'm going to copy and stitch mine that way. Thank you for sharing the pieces that your SIL sent back to you. I remember stitching on Hopscotch fabric (your upside down duck piece). One of my besties has something she stitched back in the day on the yellow and white one in her kitchen. The crewel piece is amazing. A lot of time and work went into that. This will be a first for me, but this video was so very special. May I join the crowd of June birthdays? I turned 82 on June 19th. Have enjoyed stitching with you from the beginning and watching your growth. Because of you, I've started two "Courage" pieces for dear friends who are being challenged with health issues. Cried along with you on the loss of Chester as I had just lost my dear black lab, Sophie. Recently finished "Ann Grimshaw" and have "Mary 395" kitted up. Hi Sarah! I am a bit behind on my floss tubes, so I just watched this one and was saddened by the news about Jane and Julie. I know they both were having some health issues and they have been on my mind and in my heart. I pray for them both and send my love for rest and recovery.
I am a qulter as well as a stitcher so was delighted to see you are tipping your toes into this rabbit hole. It will pull you in - be warned, but is a wonderfu community and craft to experience.
I have the chart for A Tisket, A Tasket. It is calling me from its project bag, but I tend to be monagomous, so it will need to wait its turn.

Hi Sarah. I always enjoy seeing you and hearing about your projects. I would love to meet you by zoom; I don’t travel a lot without my husband and don’t like a lot of people around me. I am an introvert and crowds tend to spark my anxiety. A few people and or zoom would be perfect. I hope you can find time to start zooms. My One Dog I had - Chewy - Female German Shepherd - she was a Chewer - so I gave her a old pair of my Shoes and a old pair of Socks and she chewed on those - played with them - her and Peanut my Boston Terrier played Tug Of War with the Shoes and the Socks.
I miss my two dogs. They were my life and my joy.

Oh Sarah - I cried right along with you. But I am a French-Canadian nurse so I get sentimental at the drop of a hat. Loved those old finishes you did. I have a piece of crewel, amongst others, that I did many years ago which is an owl and it has waited all this time to be framed. I am beginning to think about it and what kind of frame I want. It could still take awhile.

The 14 count fabric with the decoys on it was called hopscotch. I stitched on it myself in the 80s, i made pillows with a rooster and a hen on them. Just wanted to refresh your memory on that, 😂

Btw, so sorry about your brother. I lost my little sister to breast cancer in March and I know how very difficult it is to lose a sibling. She was my best friend and stitching buddy. She had a flosstube channel before she got sick.

Sarah the fabric you used for your brother's piece was sold as Hopscotch brand Aida. It's funny how I remembered that so many years ago but can't remember what I did yesterday! LOL I stitched several things on it including a couple of purses way back when!

Sarah, I love your Zoom idea! Depending on day & time I hope to join you on one. I agree when you get too many people & they're talking it can get glitchy to hear. I do one with my family every Sunday and when everyone tries to talk it gets a little crazy.
I'm so bummed that I missed you at the stitching meet-up! My daughter had a swim meet and those go from 6:30am until about 3 or 4 in the afternoon! And this Saturday it was 102 outside! So much sweating happened! But fun to watch her swim!
