Fun fact about Frenzy, if you take or deal damage it starts a 5 second timer. When you reach 12 seconds, it gives you the frenzy buff. If the 5 second timer expires after the buff is acquired by not dealing or taking damage, it will go away and have to be restarted.
This is for any people who want to know exactly how it works.

@bambampewpew32 for frenzy to proc, you need to be in combat (shoot or be shot) for 12 seconds. There is an INVISIBLE TIMER of 5 seconds where if nothing happens, everything deactivates. If I'm being shot at for 5 seconds, then nothing happens for 5 more seconds, I would have been only been in combat for 10 seconds, therefore frenzy does not proc and everything restarts back to 0. If frenzy is procced, the same timer applies, if nothing happens for 5 seconds, frenzy goes away and you will need to be in combat for 12 seconds for frenzy to activate again.
So essentially, shoot something or take damage at least 4 seconds within each other and frenzy won't go away.

I'm not really into much more difficult content than legendary lost sectors since I don't usually have other people to play with, but it's super interesting to see what goes into determining "good" weapons for people who are into it. Easily one of the best videos of this kind I've ever watched. You were able to put into coherent and concrete theory what is almost instinctive for veteran players and very very confusing for new lights. That's something most can't get right, at least not with this degree of complexity.

Insanely good content, I am going to do all I can to get the people I play with to watch this. I do think that utilising even a few "speedrunning" tips can make any run much more consistent, faster and at least IMHO, more enjoyable.
Very comprehensive. It's taken me 2000 hours of game time to know this stuff like the back of my hand and even still there are things I don't know or aren't good enough to use. I am not a fan of breach GLs, bows or trace rifles. The last one feels like a shot in the leg but traces feel really weak so I've refrained from using them. I really want to know how to use them properly. As one of my friends said "think of them as special ammo auto rifles"
I consider myself a relatively learned and experienced player, and still managed to learn so much from this; awesome video.
Something I always find fascinating are the perks that are worth using otherwise bad weapons for. I was using things like Eyasluna and Stay Frosty before their frames got buffed exclusively for the headstone procs in certain situations. You can also see this with perks like incandescent, voltshot, or really any of the "I was literally made to synergize with your build" perks. Because those benefits are just that good. For example, IMO path of least resistance is a bad trace rifle at base. It just feels bad to shoot without a loooot of help. But that shoot to loot voltshot combo is so powerful that it makes the cut anyways. Or Lubrae's Ruin. It's just worse than Kelgorath in almost every way. But that origin trait is soooo juicy that it can be worth anyways. But when I run a sherpa and the blueberries see me use those, they always get confused. IDK it just kinda feels cool to realize things like that. "Whoah this weird jank thing everyone wrote off might actually save me time on my next run" type stuff. You really love to see it
A perk has to literally change how you play the game (Shoot to Loot, Adaptive Munitions) for it to be this way, as well as have no competing options with the same perk if we're talking weapons, but yeah, it's an interesting concept.

this is great. as a newer players i have been looking for the info in the first half about weapon selection and how it all fits together. this is the most clearly i have seen this info communicated. and i definitely will be going through my end game loadouts with this info in mind.

This video is great! I started mid season of Plunder and was lucky enough to be thrust into fireteams and friendships with people with a crazy deep understanding of the game so i got some good knowledge very early into my playtime, but i have friends who like to run things solo or who might be part of different groups who dont have access to as much community knowledge at their fingertips. this video is AMAZING for that purpose. It said everything i almost always want to say but dont have the visual assistance or frankly, communication skills to effectively portray what needs to be said. This is definitely a video ill be sharing with some folks less experienced than me for the foreseeable future. good shit gamer.
P.S. I do want to note that in Season 21 depending on what Bungie does with any potential Last Wish weapon changes, Apex Predator might become the dominant stand alone rocket launcher so keep an eye on that one, it could be interesting.

Thanks algorithm for this great breakdown. I started out the same way with picking allround godrolls that worked in any context. As I moved into endgame tho in the past couple years, you're absolutely right the activity type and weapon type really is a greater consideration. A raid godroll isnt necessarily a GM godroll.

Great video, I need to finish crafting my retraced that way bc I was unsure what to roll on it. I’m surprised at the lack of conditional finality mention, it’s probably the best special shotty, especially for champion content, it’s like a shotgun version of Izanagi.
I mentioned Conditional Finality in another comment here, but the summary is that its damage scaling falls off in higher level content and that it requires both pellets and a 3.0 effect to trigger

Little input about stability. It's not that useless as stated, because Controller input still exists. I do really enjoy using steady and richochete over mag-size ones(exept flarred magwell), because missing shots is kind of losing uptime

Great video, one aspect i think you missed in coverage is primary weapons and when to use them (aside from the odd excotic you mentioned)
In endgame content primaries are essentially restricted to solo content and situational champion stuns (I talk about this in my double special video a fair amount)
probably the best d2 creator there is right now. keep it up man!
I think something that would be a cool tier list from you, would be a endgame viability list of all exotics (both armor and weapons).
And given your experience and expertise, it think it could improve a lot of players knowledge and understanding on what to use.

12:08 I dunno, back when it was at it's prime, Veist Stinger was kinda make-or-break for a good bit of hot PvE adclear and boss damage options. It's partially why Funnelweb got away with having mediocre perks (the other reasons being its type/archetype and element)

Probably one of the single strongest primary ammo options, benefits from the primary & kinetic bonus to damage, good for ad clear, and useful for triggering damage over time effects (thread of generation in the broodweaver DPS cycle) when another player already as witherboard going.
Osteo isn't bad, I mention it in my double special video I believe :)

My end game smg The Title with chamber comp, flared mag, perpetual, repulsor and reload masterwork. Check your vault as it is better than funnel cakes.
The only beef I have is with the stats that matter and its actually about what the target audience needs rather than the info being presented. It's very briefly touched on indirectly during the stat section, but it's really not called out anywhere else in a meaningful way that is clear to new players who will likely not know better to adjust accordingly. One of the most important aspects of DPS during high end content is that a missed shot does 0 dps.
For those weapons that kick harder making it easier to miss crit spots in certain DPS locations, or on projectiles in fights where it's higher risk where you can find yourself missing shots because of boss movement (Nez jumping and rockets going through him during attack animations 😑) having stability or velocity to help be reliable isn't always a bad thing.
Having less optimal reload/ready time and being more reliable at hitting all shots/more crits is better than having higher uptime but flubbing shots. Players should always practice with their weapons, and if they find they aren't as reliably accurate, maybe consider some other stats or perks that help keep those shots consistent.
Not all god rolls will be god rolls for your personal needs. This video covers god rolls given optimal conditions/optimal players using them, and is a factor to consider.

Something not mentioned in the Barrel/Mag section is weapons that are already using high uptime options for stats like Reload/Handling (Frenzy is the best example, it maxes out your Reload and Handling for free, and has high uptime) you can also probably just use higher mag size and/or range/stability to make the weapon feel better, since under ideal circumstances, you'll never not be benefitting from that.
Also personally I think that while range and stability are not preferred stats, they are not completely useless. If you don't need the handling or reload speed, they help specials reach their optimal damage ranges sooner and helps primaries feel better for plinking at champs and such.

You mentioned Lingering Dread while talking about chill clip but forgot about that it also has access to Disorienting Nades and ALH in 3rd column.
Disorienting / ALH / CC is the quintessential Lingering roll for sure, it's in the shopping list spreadsheet :)

On controller I think tactical mag/battery is a better pick than flared magwell most of the time. The extra shot(s) on some weapons is really nice and the stability you get is great for controller and the reload bonus is not much less than flared.
I'd say that another contender for an arc slug in tandem with hothead is Gunnora's axe, it can roll with the same perks as first in, last out.
Yeah it's not the best option without Assault Mag but it's certainly one worth considering

It's best to craft weapons for situations you find yourself often into.
I do mostly pve (gms and raids) and my weapons mostly circle around that.
When I see weapon that doesn't suit my playstyle, most of time I dismantle it.
It can be godroll but often they aren't my godrolls

If I have one or two things to correct from this video is that Lasting Impression is a terrible perk since it usually makes us loose 1 or 2 shots of a rocket per dps phase, and that there's better options gor rockets nowdays in Season of the Deep with the Cold Confort (Envious - B&S) and Apex Predator (Slideways/Reconstruction - B&S)
This video was made before S21, but yeah Lasting is generally not the best rocket perk (if you time your rockets right you can still get a similar number of rockets per phase, it's just that the perk interacts horribly with Pack Hunter).
