    Many thanks for the beautiful video and the places you mention are all great. A place that is missing (and I've noticed this also in other Dolomites video by foreign authors) are the Pale di San Martino (Pala group). The Dolomites have many many beautiful places but, if I was forced to choose the top of the tops (tough choice there) I would give that name. I can tell you that they are literally amazing.

    1. Armentara Meadows - easy hike with stunning mountain views. Especially worth it during the summer when the grass is a vibrant green.
    2. Lago Federa - absolutely mindblowing during the fall season as the larches turn bright orange/yellow. Head there early to catch a calm reflection.
    3. Lago di Sorapis - a moderate hike that takes 2 hours to complete but during the spring/summer season the lake emits an incredible teal colour.
    4. San Martino di Castrozza - underrated and a bit of a hidden gem. This beautiful resort town has some of the best views of anyone can ask for.
    5. Marmolada - highest mountain peak in the Dolomites. Accessible by cable car and there's going to be snow at the top.

    Hi, Lauren! Thank you for this beautiful video and all the information you've given to us. We're planning a July trip to the Dolomites. Everything we see inspires us. Your video gives practical information, not the string of "Amazing, dude" comments we see on so many other videos. Thanks!
    I saw on your itinerary that you stayed 5 nights in Cortina. Since you two drove a car, perhaps this question might not be something you can answer. Still, do you know if Cortina is well-linked by public transportation to the nearby sights that you saw?

    • @LaurenJason
      @LaurenJason  Před rokem

      Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out and we’re so glad to hear you enjoyed our video and are en route to planning your trip to the Dolomites ☺️ We’re honestly not too informed on the bus system in Cortina d’Ampezzo area but do know that there are a number of lines that get you to major stops! For example, you could take two buses from Cortina to Rifugio Auronzo for the Tre Cime di Lavaredo hike.
      I would highly suggest reaching out to your hotel/B&B for a bus schedule and routes! Sometimes accommodations can also give you a free of discounted public transportation pass during your stay for certain routes which is very convenient. As you’re going in July (high season), the daily buses will be running as they start service in June and end in October!

      We personally spent 10 days there because we factored in 2-3 days of relaxing or in case the weather was bad. I think if you really pushed the itinerary it can be done in 7-8 days! But again just consider the rain can last several hours or even snow depending on the season and location which can make it difficult to complete everything.

    What month did you go? We are going to the Dolomites in September and are so excited.
    I am having a hard time deciding whether to hike up Seceda from the bottom, or take the lift up to the ridge - I believe the hike up and down is pretty difficult, but am worried that if we got the lift up and down instead there wouldn't be too much to do when we reach the ridge. Do you think there is enough trails to do at the ridge in order to spend a lot of time up there? Where did you find these trails?
    Sorry for all the questions, just struggled to find info on this :) Thanks so much!

    • @LaurenJason
      @LaurenJason  Před rokem +3

      September is a great time to go! We went in early October so you should get even better weather and conditions than we did. Yes to hike the whole way from the base of Ortisei is very time consuming but if you want to experience the hike and catch sights along the way we’d recommend taking the Col Raiser cable car which takes you about 60% of the way there and to begin your hike to the summit after. The trails at the summit are mostly to take you to different areas at the summit like the cafes or different vantage points. We wouldn’t say it’ll satisfy anyone looking to hike a good bit. The summit is very expansive so there are lots of viewpoints and areas to walk to so it’s great for people like us looking to capture the best content!

      That’s such a great time to go! Drone laws in the Dolomites follow the drone laws of Italy. From what we’ve seen everyone seems to be flying it no problem but there are clear signs for places you can no longer fly it such as Val di Funes

      High season is always the summer months between June-end of September but it’s also the busiest. We went in September!

      Yes there are so many beautiful places in the Dolomites just as there is for nearly every region of any country. We wanted to drill down our favorite top 10 spots for the Dolomites so viewers can have a starting place in planning their trips!

    is it possible to go to cadini di misurina on april?

    • @LaurenJason
      @LaurenJason  Před 4 měsíci

      It really depends on the amount of snow for that year! Closures are highly dependent on weather conditions and can happen at anytime which is why it’s hard to know if anything will be 100% open unless in high season!
