Qui e' veramente meravigliosa; fino ad ora credevo che la migliore in questo ruolo fosse Maria Callas, ma ascoltando questa registrazione dico che Dimitra, pur diversa da Callas, raggiunge quel livello che solo le grandi interpreti possono ambire. Bravissima!!!

She is an uneven but exciting singer, I think better suited to verdi than belcanto. I have seen her in Traviata, Trovatore, Attila and Don Carlo. Her Sempre Libera was fantastic and yes she added a huge high E-flat, later during Addio del pasato she sang in a detached semi-voice, spinning silver lines, really beautiful. As Leonora she had some admirable moments, in D'amor sull'ali rosee she held back the phrasing, climbing slowly, the tone in mid-air on exquisite pianissimo, suspended in time.
@MrJago80 if you notice that is what many artists do.. so as to keep the strength for the last note.. at the end of the day the last phrases are repetitive
Dear Parsifalious, thank you for defending Stamboglis but kabuz is someone who is after him for no obvious reason, he has written many horrible things about him. After a small simple research, I found out that he is from Germany, and obviously has something to do with Stamboglis' years in Dusseldorf... Poor man I just pity him
