Dad mode 🤣😂🤣😂 👍 suddenly feel old 😁
10:00 In, I would love to see more idiocracy references please! I Love the endless content, thank y'all for that hard work! You all thought me a lot about what's what on a bike and, led to me getting one of my own!
Django for the win.
When I grow up I'll get a big fat cruiser. For the moment I need something nimble and multipurpose. I'm only 65, give me a few years.
Ha ha you sure will
Growing food is required, growing up is optional.
I'm 45, wife is 50. We still ride, street, track and trails. Touring as well.
Keep doing it, as long as you enjoy it. Dad's 70,.and still riding. One of our road brothers was 93 when he passed, and ride until December of his last year. Wife and I own 2 of his bikes
backpack,the seat,grips,exaust baffle,handerbars,a high quality helmet,a water bag。thank's a lot man,that's very helpfull
Handerbars and hamberders.
Savior!
tail bag
Gonna buy the seat extension one, i once ride with an extra seat using pillow from my bedroom, and fucc that's so comfortable like riding a sofa
To us too ;-)
"they're shaped like rockets"
That's one way to phrase it.
Cant like but take my figurative like
A good mod if you have a lot of vibration through the bars is to fill your handlebars with expanding foam. Get a can of the stuff, enough 1/4" vinyl tubing to go completely through your bars, and a long piece of string. Take off your grips and wrap those areas with masking tape. Use compressed air to blow the string through your bars. Tie one end to the vinyl tubing and pull it back through. Plug or cap one end of the bars temporarily. Attach the tubing to the nozzle on the foam can. Spray the foam as you pull the tubing out and quickly cap or plug the other end of the bars. Let the foam set up according to the directions. Remove your plugs/caps and masking tape, and reinstall your grips. If you have a Harley or any bike that makes significant vibration, this will make a lot of difference.
Let me be an example. I had very (almost unnoticeable) tinnitus. I took a ride from Ft Lauderdale to Melbourne and back (about 300-350 miles total). R6 with a yoshimura exhaust. I left my earplugs at home but figured to hell w it.
The ringing doesn’t stop now. Went from minor to “please don’t let the room be quiet.” It was a 3 hourish trip, and when I got home I could barely hear my own voice. And honestly? It’s a scary feeling not knowing if that will be permanent or not. Thankfully my hearing is back to a relative normal, minus a huge range of frequencies that I can no longer hear.
This was about a month and a half ago.
I’m 21.
Wear some fucking ear plugs guys.
Yep, I'm ex infantry and have severe tinnitus from that. The riding has made it much worse, and I ride with plugs in 99% of the time otherwise I am literally deaf for a day. Makes sleeping a pain if I don't have some sort of background noise (I usually put rain / thunder storm sounds on).
Dude thats insane.
Im currently customizing a bike and pipes now sit straight down behind my ears i plan to bring the way out the the rim of rear tire to avoid that so definitely still wear ear plugs.
I hear your pain..
I'm 43 and in my experience tinnitus doesn't go away. I have a fan in every room and travel with a USB plug in fan to make sleeping possible.
Brawndo the thirst mutilator. It gives plants and people what they crave. Electrolytes. Awesome reference
America is becoming just like that movie
@@nooblet224 Rapidly. And we saw it coming.
ColdMoonlight I've been noticing a lot of people's speech and annunciation skills going down the toilet
Thank you
Is there a platform it’s still on?
About the guy in the thumbnail wrapping the throttle tube with a bicycle handlebar wrap, that is actually a cheap alternative.
As a former cyclist with some extra bicycle parts in my garage, I honestly have done that. It is just as good as those motorcycle soft grips.
I can guarantee that. 👍
Not gunna lie, I’m 23 and had a lot of sport bikes (10) including two s1000rr and a and my triumph tiger was my first adventure bike and it has metal bags and I can confidently say bags are a game changer. Also don’t let someone tell you adventure bikes can’t rip the roads because they can lol. Definitely don’t put them aside look into them and ride one and I’m sure you’ll be surprised.
for young people the new tracer 700 is a very good option, cause it can do it all (except heavy offroad) and looks fkin great
Did a demo day with a kawi versys 1000 and that thing can shred if you have the balls to lean it. Modern day adv bikes are very nimble and can carve corners on the right hands
Just switched as well.. got a v strom and I'm in love
I love how they always leave those stock footage clips going for just a second or two too long. Just enough to make you a tiny bit uncomfortable.
Someone always asks wtf I'm watching when they look at my screen and I just tell them it's a motorcycle video. Lol
That black dude with the towel around his neck just staring at my soul
Lol I feel better now. Thought it was just me feeling slightly uncomfy with that one
I recently just turned 15 and got my first bike a Suzuki gsx250r and it’s amazing! And I’m a girl and everyone doubted me but yammies vids rlly helped me out a lot!
That's a great starter bike. Don't be in a hurry to make changes. Your needs will become clear the longer you ride. Good Luck!
i can only able to ride max125cc at age of 16
Ali Yusuf Birinci yea my parents are pretty strict with how I can ride but they hav stopped caring.😁
Just inspired me 😇
Mentions helmet. Doesn't mention windshields. For my 700 mile monthly roadtrip, earplugs and a windshield are a must. I do 2500 miles per month on a 26.5HP Honda CB300 air cooled.
What kinda ear plugs you use. I tried decibullz but they keep coming off when I try to put on my helmet. Disposables suck
You're under 50 ? Lol I did a one way 800 mile on a Honda Hawk (1982) and numerous trips on a 883 ,no windshield . Since upgrading bikes , no question windshield number one improvement , cruise control two.
Windshield is a must. I only have a little MT07 but being buffered all over the bike was getting old and my neck now hates me.
@@zachleo137 I like to dampen just a little the road noise so my ears don't go numb. I use a plug similar to the "no noise" plugs, but I get them for $0.55
Yeee I'll put a windshield on my KTM XC-W, that works and looks great.
Nope
Hey Spite, thank you for the great info! I have a ninja 250 and after watching this I got new grips, bar risers and Im ordering a new seat. Love the new grips and higher handlebars. Much love from Milwaukee my dude!
"Start feeling tingles after riding for hours" lmao I ride for 30 minutes on my r6 and can't feel the fingers on my right hand 🤣
Forever Motolove! Love my own yamaha. Always putting up the good stuff like Delta Parole and others when I am working on her. Moto is life
Yammie Noob u give me the deadpool vibes in terms of ur attitude and humour... ik this vid wasn't even narrated by you but your little outro fuckin KILLED me at the end
Extremely useful and informative things to know - and I laugh my ass off. Helmet Editorial is hilarious (Shoei is warmer in summer months ) - lol
I added bigger, longer footpegs/footrests and it helps.Good tips!
That red R1 at the end has to be one of the most gorgeous bikes ever made.
Luve you guys!!! Thanks for the ideas!!!
One of the best upgrades I did to my MT-07 was add a 40 liter Givi top case. Sure, it looks kinda dorky but has made the bike much more practical. I can chuck groceries, mail and whatever else in the back without having to use a backpack. Plus I can squeeze my jacket, helmet and gloves in the case and lock it so I don't have to carry it around with me when I go somewhere.
ROX anti-vibration risers were just added to my 13' WR250r....should have been the first mod....Game changer to say the least. A few years back I purchased a SHOEI Hornet.....Worth every penny. It's light, and can be worn all day with no fatigue. This was a very good video, with excellent points.
All very good tips! That Nelson Rigg tail bag is suuuper good for commuting and you can unclip it and take it with you in seconds. Highly recommend!
Thanks for another informative and interesting video
As you pull into TJs you can see the exact white Duke 690 I just bought from them last week! So stoked to have my first bike, crazy seeing it in your video 😂
Getting the Seat Concept DIY kit was the best money spend on accessories ever. With a very cheap air stapler I finally turned my Versys 650 into an actual tourer that I can sit on all day.
I agree with the helmet comfort. It's so important, I bought a semi expensive helmet as my first and I love it and i later bought a cheaper one for a passenger. That helmet just isnt comfortable to ride in after more than 30 minutes and even at minute one the more expensive helmet feels better in every way. It blocks out a lot more noise, it looks better, its more comfortable. It really adds a lot.
Spent my money on a Corbin one-up with a back rest, and used an old canvas tool bag strapped to the fender rack for a tail bag. Had it made to color match the bike, too.
If you do long rides, a palm throttle cruise is nice. Out of the way most times, but you can let some grip pressure off on the long highway hours and think about the ride not the hand cramp.
I think what went wrong in this video was you incorporated all bike types, and yes some mods do work across bike types, however many are specific. Sports bikes the best seven comfort mods are: changing out suspension springs to match your weight, rearsets to get your knee angle comfortable, clip ons to open up the angle of them over OEM to better suit your shoulder width, tank grips to prevent sliding into the fuel tank, quick shifter / auto blipped to reduce clutch lever usage, replacement of stock levers to ones that are adjustable, and yes a tail bag.
Man here is some serious advices for comfort!
Like the tips you provided - really great. One item / tip regarding the hand grips, and especially the heated grips is that over time one can wear through the grip surface and mess up the heating coils. What we do is take hockey stick or cricket bat rubber covers - cut to size and slip over the grip. (use woman's hair lacquer to slip them on and dry hard). When they wear through - if ever, just repalce them.
So basically everything you would change on your bicycle you should change on your crotch rocket as well.
Don't need no stinking tail bag. My NC700X has an awesome storage compartment where the tank usually is. Can fit a 12 pack and a 6 pack in it. Can get a bottle of water out while I drive.
One mod I really like is the USB/cigarette lighter port I installed.
@@moteroargentino7944 Yeah, it is. The problem is that it's so good that I'm addicted to it. I use it every time I go out.
My old '88 Katana has 3 of those and did when I bought it last summer. The Corbin seat even after an hour and a half is so comfortable that you easily could go on for twice that, about how far a full tank would take me and not even notice any sort of numb butt.
The exhaust are still stock 32 years later and believe me, on a longer ride quieter mufflers are the only way to go.
The 1100 Katana that year also had optional Krauser/Suzuki hard luggage that comes of in the matter of about a minute. I tried riding without it and just using a back pack, but it didn't take long to figure out that was just uncomfortable, .. and a little bit dumb. ;)
Spite you magnificent bastard! I have a Shoei helmet and had no idea what the chin pad is for. Even though I have earplugs (again, thanks to you two) wind noise was unbareable and I didn't want to ride much. After watching this video, wind noise is a thing of the past. Thank you, again!
So I’m new to the channel, and to bikes, I just got my license, after binge watching a ton of your videos, I wanted to say thank you, I was going to get a ninja 636rr as my first bike as it is my dream bike. Instead I’m hoping to get a cbr300 abs model, after watching all your beginner videos I decided to get a smaller bike and get good at riding over a few seasons before I get into a big bike, well just wanted to drop by and leave a comment and say thank you, keep up the good work on a great channel
Never understood why people got super sports as their first bike. Its like getting a ferrari as a first car. You will never appreciate it as much as you would knowing why its so much better than other bikes and where is suffers compared to others. Also running costs and replacing parts can be season ending not to mention the inevitable tickets you will get.
There are people who can outperform riders on liter bikes with 300cc starters and have more fun doing it. Id reccomend the ninja 400 as a first bike as that thing can haul and comes with good components like led lights and a slipper clutch and is a lot more forgiving to ride. Plus you won't get btfo'd on insurance
You just pulled into TJ's at the end.. this is where I am buying my bike lol. Small world
i have been watching motor cycle videos for the last 2 years. i had a sv 650 that i never got running. and have been on a motorcycle twice. i am in collage for auto tech and can not wait till i am not just watching videos about motorcycles but am riding and making some videos myself
Sweet background music ❤️
I know you guys are in Austin, I'm in Fort Worth but travel a lot. Very cool to see those three peanut kids on the couch. Also Earl pugs is my fist buy after this.
I can agree with that Bell Revolver Evo. Wind noise is attrocious, just went on a 4 hour ride 1 day, then 4 hours the next and my hearing's funny now, even with earbuds
Mustang seats are AWESOME!
8:01 bruh so daunting when the visor suddenly pops up at +75mph straight into a cluster of bees flying 🤣
👍👍👍 to the shoei RF1200.
I disagree with you about the back pack. I rock a Kriega drypack on the tail of my R6 and always were a Kriega R25 backpack. Very comfortable to wear with plenty of air circulation. In addition the backpack has an additional back protector and hydration pack for the summer.
I like a backpack. My wife carries it on the back of my xr250. My gl1200 has a custom seat that i got from tractor supply for $30. I had a muffler shop make straight pipes for my gl1100 when the exhaust fell off.
Thank you so much for the Brawndo reference. Lol it’s what plants crave. It’s got electrolytes!
I had foam grips, used them for 7 years . Did not get saturated when it was raining, just as good in the rain as in the sun. I think you might call them closed-cell foam under $20.00.
One more thing on handle bars. Check to see if your control wires are run along your bars, or trough them. If your wiring is on the outside, it's not as important, but on the inside, your controls won't fit the new bars.
Went through that swapping over to a low set of buckhorn bars on my CB750, and had to return them, and swap for a different set, at a local shop.
Run along the bars, there is usually a relief cut in the housing, where the loom passes through it, and the loom is secured along the bars. Internal, the wires come onto the bar, from inside the housing.
Problems with heated grips . You have to keep both hands on the grips to stay warm and they usually go with the bike. Heated gloves.
Nice video
love the fact that spite always take the shot for yamm on this controversial lists.
You can get an insulated bladder that is also helpful to keep liquids cool. Hydrapak makes some good ones.
sweet yammie yam
Guysss can you please make a helmets makers tier list 🙊 i think it would be helpful for my next helmet buy as i only owned one helmet so far and would use some of your experience on more types
Just wanted to let u know that im going to start in this world with a z800e limited to 46 hp, and feel like is no issue if u go step by step and dont rush for anything
The one item that I love since I got it has been wrist rest. It has been a god send on longer highway rides and for $10 best investment.
Where, ebay?
Amazon and revzilla both have crampbuster for $10
Buying an xsr7 can't wait
Hi Spite, I see you brought yourself and a KTM SMC R 690, nice one. I have this bike too, can you do a review regarding your thoughts about this cool bike, thx?
Yammi and baby yams...
First bike- Vstrom 1000 or 650, whichever i can find cheaper, OR A 2015 vulcan S 650 as a first bike
If you guys want my recommendation for a nice sets of grips I highly recommend the Vans x Cult grips. They are really thick but feel really good
Yammie getting old , his interest is rifting to cruiser confort.... ya the aging process nothing wrong is normal. 😁
Number 4 is the number 1 for me. Noise will kill you first
Some of those video clips lead me to believe a review of the SMC r is forthcoming !! 👌🙌🏻😊
No review coming of that bike lol
Yammie Noob how dare you sir !!! I’m awaiting patiently . 😉
Picked up a scorpionexo to replace my fuel helmet, a world of difference, way more padding, and were talking an 80 dollar difference, the exo being snell approved hels too
r1? how's the noise?
@@user-jt6nw6wm5q i believe its the R1, didnt see anything on the helmet stating that, but its phenomenal, wind noise is there at higher speeds but the aerodynamics of the helmet help keep it quiet
Heated grips ftw :D
Best thing ever 👍🏼
Changing handlebars might also require longer brake lines.
I just got home from a 250 mile trip on my small 125cc. And god damn i need some new mods on the bike. Also my backpack which is full with camping equipment and weighs 30lb has a small chair built-in but the legs of the chair are made of steel tubing and have my back red and sore...
What case do you recommend putting a GoPro in while riding, I have mine in the waterproof case and it gets suppeerrr hot
One thing I like about my airport job is they are required to provide those foam hearing protection plugs, so I get mine for free
I have a Speed Triple RS with a ‘comfort’ seat, 🤔
Something tells me a couple of seat bags won't look too nice on my Hypermotard..
Did he slow the video down to get over 10 minutes?
You in Round Rock? I could help but notice the I35 couch potatoes just south of TJs.
I used to use the cheap ear plugs, but after an hour or two they began to hurt. Then I discovered alpine ear plugs. I can ride for hours now without any pain.
New to the channel, and I'm loving it... it's just sad that winning of the bikes doesn't cover my region... all the same, thank you for the amazing content..
Yooooo nice
I think I have different level of tolerance, because I love riding with back pack. Usually I ride for 45 minutes and have no problem unless I have a ton of books, which is never really the case except of the first and last day.
I use an alice pack with frame, the waist band is clipped around the back so I don't wear it like a belt, works great for keeping the pack off my back.
@@nobodyinparticular709 I tought of it, but it's too expensive to pay off right now. You know, poor student :D .
haha brawndo.... my favorite part..
If you like hearing little better while wearing earplugs buy some musicians earplugs, they reduce damaging high frequencies but still allow sound to pass through
Hey spite. Drinking ice cold water while in the early stages of heat exhaustion can cause vomiting thus exasperating the dehydration. Stick to room temp. Maybe not 80 degrees but definitely not ice temp
damn dude I know this is stupid but I always get nauseous on a hot day drinking cold water thanks for the info my guy!
Trayvax wallets are awesome
Grip Puppies. Saved my hands and made my riding 4x less strenuous.
I miss the fun fact at the end of the video. I like knowing things and as we all know, knowing is half the battle.
A low drone you say... Do they come in different tunings? I'd love to sound like a bagpipe when rolling Down the street
Route the exhaust into the bagpipes.. The faster you go...
Alternatively, play bagpipe music while letting your kilt flap in the morning air
4:50 Damn squid
yammie noob before bed.🤩
Hey guys in Alaska you can get your motorcycle learners permit at the age of 14, but both parents have to sign a paper in front of a notary, my dads totally on board with me getting a motorcycle (he has a gen. 2 Vmax) but my mom isn't (she road a 600cc scooter twice tipped both times). I road the same scooter in a parking lot and did perfectly according to my dad.
Best mod I put on is a clutch pull relief, so much easier in heavy traffic now
What are those?
@@jonathanvillalba3214 it's an extension you can add to the clutch lever if the throw on the handle is tight. Basically it adds more leverage and makes it easier to pull in the clutch
There are some bladders you can freeze.
Silicon swimming earplugs brah, comfortable and they ain't goin no where.
I saw a mountain bike channel say how he cleans out camelback pouches with baking soda and hot water. Gets rid of the mold.
That ridge wallet would be in between my couch cushions
Video starts at 1:40
I'm a ninja 250 owner, death thoughts come when you have to break....every time 😂
I have an MT-03, not much available for seats or much of any else for it. Any suggestions?
last year i did a round trip from new jersey to maryland and boy was my throttle wrist hurting for days after that trip.
what part of jersey you from I'm from cape May county?
@@joeyg29jgjg I'm from the Cherry Hill area, taking that trip on a cb300 was not fun 😂
I rode my r3 from Colorado springs to tampa. Not awesome but I made it.
bruh
I wrecked my honda shadow yesterday.
Rip
Sorry to hear it mate :(
@@caseyjones6316 The bike got pretty messed up but i managed to only get some bad bruises, road rash on my wrist and my knee and some bruised bones
Yeah at least you’re not messed up too bad bro. I wish you a speedy recovery friend
Sorry to hear it... What happened?
Old video coming from beginning riders, but I've known 2 adventure riders who suffered catastrophic injuries from simply throwing in tail bags. Let that thing fall in your wheel and see what happens
Make a review of that ktm 690 and ask KTM dealership for the 1290 SDR for reviewing
I’m planing on getting a Corbin seat for my 2017 Vulcan s but I’m wondering if there’s a different option out there?
I got a corbin seat for my 2017 FZ09 and I love it. Best comfort mod imo.
