  • Full review and specs on the new (to me) CSC City Slicker. For $2500, this is a hard niche bike to beat on performance and value.

    Top speed has to be 65 mph and minimum range of 100 in order for me to have any use for it. Where I live nearest town is 40 miles and the road speed limit is 55 mph.

    Do you register this as a moped of a motorcycle? By far the best review I was looking for. You should do more test videos!

    Good series. Informative. Would have liked to know more about the company that makes it. US? China? When will they have more... I don't remember, out of three videos, you saying the name of the company. Maybe the link is in the description?
    Could have done without the training ride. Would have liked to know about the car you drove. But all around good video!

    I have the UK version called the Moonster it was £2500 queen pounds. Another company calls them Artisan and puts another couple thou on the price, but all the same Chinese made budget electric motorcycles. Great fun around town and other short runs to work and such like. I like the total weirdness of a hooligans vehicle that is very sociable indeed 👍

    • @joeybrown8924

      To my knowledge, this is a motorcycle in the eyes of most states. This requires registration and a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license.

      The Onyx brand is certainly interesting. I don't know how well they will behave in stopping quickly with much smaller disk brakes, but the range, cost, and simplicity are definitely exciting.

    Put a 50cc gas motor on the bicycle for 100 bucks and go just as fast folks. 2500 i expect better. Hell another 2500, you could have a brand new Royal Enfield.

    • @joeybrown8924
      @joeybrown8924  Před 3 lety +1

      I've built a gas bike before. They usually top out around 20 mph. This bike will hold 45. I would agree the cost is somewhat high for it's range, but quality made.

    • @justinbustin677

      @@joeybrown8924 nope 42mph on the gas

    • @caramelzappa
      @caramelzappa Před 3 lety +3

      If you want to go electric, it's going to cost more right now. Gas is always better for price for performance, and will be for a while.
      A 50cc bicycle doesn't have the frame strength, brakes, or tires that this does, nor does it have turn signals lights, speedometer, etc.
      As for the royal enfield, what's the point of comparing this to something double the price? For another 25K I could have a Tesla, but that's just as irrelevant.

  • @framestomind7548
    @framestomind7548 Před 29 dny +1

    seems useless with peg drag like this?!... I would prefer a bike I can go as deep as I want without any pegs that gonna drag or suddenly turn the bike around at high speed.. is not a safe way to learn sport bikes!

    Range is crap. Double it then it would be worth it. 25 mile range is crap. I have a scooter that I can get 70 miles out of

    • @joeybrown8924
      @joeybrown8924  Před 3 lety +2

      Range definitely leaves more to be desired. However, with the new controller firmware, it seems to add about 10 miles of range. Also, batteries are the most expensive part, so double range basically doubles price. In a future video, I'll be showing why I actually switched to a gas bike recently, but I already miss the CSC

    Would you choose this over an evader?

    • @joeybrown8924
      @joeybrown8924  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I haven't ridden the eVader, but it looks like it has significantly more ground clearance than the City Slicker, which could be nice. The eVader seems to list 35 mph as top speed, and the CSC can easily do 45. Seems like a good pro/con comparison could be done.
