So nice to see a video that doesn't have 10 minutes of preamble before getting to the point. Thanks.

Thanks cured my floppy gear shift stuck in 1st. Used your temp repair with cable ties. If you fix two ties around the actual shift arm either side of the nylon bush and then another two through these and over the top of the bush works perfect almost a permanent repair.

Thanks mate, very helpful for 3 things all in one! without any mental loud music in the background too! I just put 20 quid of petrol in mine (all nozzle handles black at this garage I'd never been to before!!) so needed to see exactly where fuel filter is and how to remove it. Here's hoping a drain out, filter change and fill up with diesel works! Ta

If you have an EOBD reader with live readout (about £25) you can read the MAF g/s output. If it’s 0g/s then the sensor is likely not sending any output.
All these things are common faults BTW. I have experienced all of them on my 2008 Vivaro. Well presented.

Have you got a link to the part needed in the gearstick repair, or the name of it used in the eBay listing, cheers.

Cheers bud will give the sensor a try, a mechanic told me to change the egr valve but still sluggish, I'm not going to be happy if I've paid the 80 for the valve and turns out to be the sensor.

Thankyou so much for the video. Had poor power on my Vivaro would struggle to get over 2500rpm in 1 and 2 gears and then take off when it hit 3000 ! Took the maf out and cleaned it with contact cleaner resulting in small improvement and then got a replacement of eBay ( I know not a Siemens but so far so good) £25 jubbly
And the van is driving better than it’s done for ages and I’ve not had to spend a fortune at the garage.
Ps . I know very little about engines so this and all the forums were a great help . 👍 next vid on hazards not working please 😉

    - New to me Renault Trafic. Same engine, same year. Have it for a few days, questions are piling up. So I'll ask here.
Questions: At 2:02 transparent tube on the left, looks like fuel, but its caped and empty. What is it for?!
At same time mark 2:02 on right side, beside glow plug relay, looks like a black valve or sensor, with a plug and a couple of pipes attached to the ECU support. What is it for?!
On mine both these items are hanging loose. The one on the right hanging upside down with a zip tie holding it precariously.
Any enlightenment is greatly appreciated. Thanks
    Cheers

Hi, I changed my van a few years ago now! However, I dont think the left tube is for fuel, just an air valve possibly. The part on the right is the turbo boost. thks

  • @thechumpsbeendumped.7797

Did you try to clean the MAF before you replaced it?
What is the clamp called on eBay? I did a temp repair a couple of years ago using bungee cord but would like to do a permanent repair.

+J Powell thanks, since posting the question I found it on ebay and fitted it, great little gizmo.
I tried cleaning my MAF but no luck, so Ive got a new one to fit. Looking forward to being able to overtake cyclists and mobility scooters any day soon.
