- This is my first proper ride on a bigger cc cruiser. It also happens to belong to the chap I do the boat work for, so i better not crash it! It is a Suzuki Intruder VS800GL 800cc V-twin motorcycle.

nothing compares to v-twins with plenty of cc's... quite a relaxing experience after one gets comfortable with their weight at slow speeds..

Nice bike. My step dad had the big boy version of that intruder. He had a 1997 Intruder with the 1400cc engine. Thing was a torque monster. It sounded exactly like that bike as well. Very fun bike to ride as well. Great vid man!

I have a 98 VS800 Intruder and love that bike . It’s lite, quick and nimble and a joy to ride!

got a 2003 vs 1400, what a bike! very light and easy to ride, stage 3 kit into her aswell, spicy, if you are ever in the area of Reading, you are more than welcome to have a go on her
That's one sweet bike, VS 800 is so user friendly it's great for newbies or small frame girls even. Not intimidating at all, yet it packs some potential. That one of yours sounds really healthy.
Can't beat 125 vibe....much more fun to be had thrashing the fruit out of a 125...virtually no cost motorcycling..

Stop reminding me that I want more than my 125 spicy! I love it but the 500cc I did my A2 on was definitely a bit more fun. Insurance is terrible though for EU license holders in the UK :( I'm paying almost double what my friend did for the same bike and experience level (aka none), same city too :/
Best part of a spicy video is when the patreons come down the screen, not because I am one of them but because it reminds me of the alphabet. (Until I reach 'T')

Have not done to much riding my self as it’s freezing here right now and I only have summer gear got to run over to my Parents House to pick up my old winter gear 50 Degrees Fahrenheit Is just too darn cold for a Florida boy. 😋

@@Mrflash222006 Very true, till you own a 50cc geared "supermoto" I've changed the filter, up jetted, changed the gearing and used put performance 2t oil in my bike but hillsss! 😂 And having to shift through my whole gearbox to get up to 40mph max 😂

Don't laugh at it. Starting on small bikes makes you appreciating bigger ones much more.
I miss the sound of my VL 800 and the torque and it would pull even in the wrong gear - twin pipes make them sound miles better
Yeah need to try a cruiser at some point, looks fun in a different way
You should try out the Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic. I have an '03 I just got up and running, and it sounds like a beast. They're great bikes.

my first bike was a VL125 Intruder, sounded so similar to this haha.. This bike sounds like it needs more low down grumble!

Now challenge yourself to find an old VX800. Same drivetrain as that VS, but in an upright/standard frame similar to the old Nighthawk 750. Quite an odd duck.
It's funny talking about it as a 'big' cruiser because it's 800 and many sport bikes are only 600, but in the world of cruisers 800 is on the smaller end. Usually companies have like a 650-900 offering and then a larger cruiser that's like a 1100-1300, then the full fledged cruisers like HD twins, the big Honda shadow, etc. are like 1700-1800. So this is like an entry sized Suzuki cruiser.
Did you take it on the highway? If so, how did it do? Usually the problem with these smaller cruisers is they usually only pack them with 5 gears and then 5th is strung out at 4000 RPM on the highway (which is very different than 4000 RPM on a sport bike) and it really kinda sucks. That's the problem with like the 883 sportster & the yamaha bolt, vstar, IMO. It's def. a good looking bike, though.

Am I right in thinking that the intruder is belt drive.my dad had a burgundy one and had every chrome mod you could think off.and I'm sure it was belt not chain
donky 75 You are incorrect, it’s a shaft drive bike.

They have a purpose the owner keeps the bike in a safe place but it must fit down a narrow alleyway.

Nice step up from a 125 but anything under 900cc is a small cruiser
Flan d 800 is a mid size cruiser.
Imo 1-2l would be mid but each to their own, when you go from a virago 250 to a rocket 3 (2,500) the average goes up, 1100cc cruisers aren’t even that fast standard it you’ve ridden any sportsbikes

Not my thing at all but for someone who wants a summer cruiser style bike then the price looks tempting - cheaper than a half good Electric bicycle....

That’s a small cruiser, my wife rides the modern version of that one, M50 Volusia 800, I ride the m109r Volusia 1800. Most guys would get at least an 1100.
