I really hated it when NHRA got rid of Modified Eliminator. There were numerous high revving 4 speeds that really highlighted the drivers skill. It seems like NHRA over the years has gradually deteriorated to the point that I will no longer waste my time or money at one of their events. We went to Muscle Cars At the Strip in Vegas this year & have gone to the PSCA year end finals in Vegas in November the past 4 years. You can still see some cars with clutches & heads up racing. My hat goes off for Ray. He epitomizes drag racing as it should be. Hope to see you for many years to come, my friend.
I love a 4 speed I cut my teeth on my 65 fairlane with a 289 3 speed column shift and I could floor pack it until I broke the shifter off lol I have a 63 Chevy 2 with a 355 tunnel ram Muncie m21 ford 9” with 4:56 gears that’s a blast to drive
If they would segregate the stick cars form the automatics, (like class racing, the way it was done B4 the gas crunch of 73), then their would be more stick cars competing, and the drags would be more fun.
NHRA just made it easier for millennials to race, the Nintendo generation can't manual shift.. if it's not automatic or paddle shift.. they are lost... so sad no longer a MAN'S race.. NHRA = Neutered Handsoff Racing Association
Always liked Jimmy Bridges corvette
Absolutely daddyo

Jerico / gforce / Liberty?
Hats off to all shifting ⚙️
Why doesn't NHRA have a class for the 3 pedal purists? Could open up a new breed, (like 50 yrs ago)

To be it's totally bogus to let front wheel drive Cavaliers etc to race as rear wheel drive cars unless it's some kind of outlaw class .
Three pedals baby
Can't wait to get a 4speed in my chevelle.
4-speed cars put on a better show for the fans!
