- On a hot August afternoon, a group of modern day racers organized their period-correct Gassers together for a race at Greer Dragway in Greer, SC.
Follow along with Pro Modified racer turned Gasser aficionado Quain Stott as eight of these classics stage the inaugural Nostalgia Gasser Race. Travel behind the scenes with the promoters and experience the sounds of these back-in-the-day doorslammers.
This video, produced by Matthew Brammer, should make you a Gasser fan even if you weren't around in the 1960s to enjoy them the first time around . It's a 10 minute video but well worth the time. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Absolute beautiful and fun cars,, thank you all for doing something nostalgic and making the cars look period correct
love the gassers, fast, deadly and fun!! i love all of them.
i was at the actual race when Dickie Harrell "Mr Chevrolet" died in Canada,it was a sad day,i remember "the Snake" and "the Mongoose" back when the Cudas,Road Runners,Chevelles,Mustangs,GTO's were everywere and all the awesome old school drag racers raced on Sunday and sold cars on monday
I can't say enough about how GREAT the show at Lyons Indiana was this past July. It was a racing experience to remember. I"m gonna travel to more now. I've been to the Nationals...and I'd rather go see this!!! It's outstanding the ENTIRE time. Not a dull moment at any point. Constant....car after car racing. The period correct gasser is King.
WOW ... you guys have it down pat, the burnouts over the line, the multible dryhop starts, no 2-steps, 4-speeds.... I see a road trip in my future to drive over and watch. Top shelf job to all, keep it growing and going! Glenn
Man, driving Gassers must really beat you up, judging from Greg Porter's face. LOL
Excellent !!!
Great video, quain got the rules just right
Why does everybody have to put background music in the videos ? Grrrrrrrr!
Old school 4 ever!
Saw these guys at Knoxville Dragway. They put on an awesome show! If ya get a chance go see them.
@brock d weight transfer to get all the weight on the back wheels !!! 60's & 70's style !!!!!! GREAT VIDEO LOVE THE OLD CARS SEEN IN HERE !!!!!! :>)
Nice 1 you just cannot beat the gassers true drag raceing
Quain and Donovan Stott have ride along videos you can watch.
+Competition Plus TV I was hoping to see the Late 5's Ford pickup that was on the screen shot. Any video on that truck?
i had a great time.................
Tip of the hat to Quain and all the racers, fans and track folk at Greer for doing this. Going to keep up with this during 2014' and if it works out, make the 3 plus hour drive and put a few more butts in the stands to help support this effort. Be good to watch some real racing instead of a bunch of 300 mph Corporate bill boards they call race cars. Thanks to everyone involved including Comp. Plus for the coverage.
+wkmac2 He%^ Yeah! I kinda' dig the Gassers. As they become more period correct the more i'll like 'em.
life is a drag,so go raceing! two lane black top.
Seen Stott race in Canada that old willys will go but quain can drive
OMG. Steve Brock looks just like my mom (with a haircut)
Can I come play next year?
love the vid, but why do they put music over the audio?????
Please take this in the hopefully helpful way in which this was meant, not to piss of....only thing I didn't like were the little long on the people interview that action. I liked it because I do like it, keep it up. Take your picture to a fair th9is fall and maybe win something
can i come play with my 57 ford next year
I copped a wood !!!!
This is the best racing you will see anywhere..come to Piedmont on oct 19 and check out the Gasser Get Together Event check out Gasser Get Together on face book..........
Well the drivers were gassing on alot, but i didn`t see very much of the cars.
Who whooped Porter's ass?? #knockdowndragout
Period correct can only be slower than stott. Just ask Gene Fulton.
An anglia gets it,thats GOT to be kool racing!
Can someone explain why the gassers have been lifted up so high in the front, thanks.
It was suppose to help with weight transfer, and it looked mean lol
alright thanks, always wondered
gets the weight to the rear tires helps with traction
oh awesome! thanks Sierra Foulke
WEIGHT TRANSFER
Damn music!!!!
The reason the front ends are raised up is to get more weight on the back tires. Wrinkle wall tires didnt come out til the late 60s so traction was always an issue. The more weight on the back , the more the car hooked up , the faster you went.
wow,i believe you man, dont kill us(your a scary individual my friend)
The very reason I have always favored the Gassers, 4 speed you have to drive these cars! Controversy hell no, no nitrous on any Gasser period! this is a drivers race car, not a cheap horsepower race!
Too many interviews. Not enough of the Gassers.
And to much loud music so you can't hear anything
back ground music SUCKS!!!!
57 chevys suck
+Lynn Dempsey Why.? do they keep kickin yer ass.?
Not a one ever kicked my ass
