    Military vehicle is such an important part of our childhood, especially our generation, when G.I. Joe, Rambo and so many things related to modern warfares, they were all parts of our fantasies when we were kids.
    So the release of this classic willys made me so happy, this jeep is an icon for automobiles, military forces and of course, transformer toys.
    But Takara Tony messed it up, they worked with a budget supplier who used substandard materials that ruined the design, the breakage of various parts of MP 47 made many people mad, so ironically, KO vendors made better quality MP 47.
    So in this video, let’s talk about it.

    amazing that the KO is better than the (hard to find) original. I was in Japan when the original came out and nearly picked it up. So glad I didn't.

    I was thinking to myself "Wow, this ko Hound I got is awesome, and it could probably fool people into thinking it was official." I guess not, they'd realize my toy is of a much higher standard of quality. I feel pretty good, ngl.

      I'm thinking of ordering one of these, but I've been screwed the last couple times I've tried ordering KO's from China, so I'm wondering if other people are having better luck these days?

    I got this one yesterday. I have to say that I am quite impressed with the engineering of this figure. It is incredible how neatly the tyres and other unneeded parts get just tucked away in the robot mode. Even the hologram pistol can be stored in both modes. I did not have any breakages, but some of the hinges are a little too loose for this figure to be perfect. Still, the transformation is quite enjoyable in both ways, once you get to know what you are supposed to do during each phase.

    • @OptimusLegends
      @OptimusLegends  Před 2 lety

      Agreed. imo Hound is the best car bot ever released from the MP line.
      And it does have loose joints, but should be easy fix for transformer collectors.

    • @OptimusLegends
      @OptimusLegends  Před 2 lety

      Hi Titans, there are 2 batches of MP 47 KO from the same manufacture, the 2nd batch has slight improvement in terms of sprue marks and paint, normally sellers would make it clear in the description.

      I heard the headlights of the two KO versions are different. For the initial version the headlights are totally smooth and has no details, and for the second release the headlights has diagonal grid lines. And I believe I also saw this somewhere that the Takara one has headlights different from both KO versions because it has horizontal grid lines.

    • @OptimusLegends
      @OptimusLegends  Před 2 lety

      @@sphinx5875 I just checked it, the headlights are smooth and have no details on my copy. But I also found that people are saying that the second batch has a sprue mark on the right side of the forehead, which is what I have. So I am also very confused. Overall, my copy does have some loose joints, but no breakage so far, so, I guess it works?

  • @illiteratedino
    @illiteratedino Před 2 lety +1

    Do you know if there are differences with the KOs? There's a TKR KO and a regular KO. For example, I heard the TKR MP 11 is a regular KO will the non-TKR KO has ratchet joints added. I wonder if there's a difference between this character? I want a Hound and I am not risking it by buying the official one.

      Hi Scholar, this is new information to me. All that I know about MP47 KO is that there were two batches, and the 2nd batch fixed some issues so it was better, the way to tell, is that there is a sprue mark on the forehead, 3:10.

  • @DragoonMS

    Very interesting. I'm a bit on the fence about Hound (AND the KOs of Shockwave & Sunstreaker) though, considering that I just got the Eagle EG01 MP52 Starscream KO, which turned out to be a great robot mode but a lousy transformation and a trash tier jet mode that won't tab together. (So he's gonna be a MP Action Master, forever stuck in robot mode...told that boy to steer clear of the Nucleon!!) Guess it shows that regardless of improvements, KOs just can't fix dumb design choices...which Takara's been making plenty of since MP36 G1 Megatron.
    (Hasbro ain't off the hook!! MPM4 Optimus Prime, MPM6 Ironhide, MPM7 VW Beetle Bumblebee, MPM10 Starscream, MPM12 Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime...those Masterpiece Movie peeps are loaded with dumb design choices)

    • @OptimusLegends
      @OptimusLegends  Před 2 lety +2

      I heard KO Sunstreaker is not recommended, Shockwave is just okay. My experience with Hound is positive, minor issues with loose joints that require some fixing, and that's it. I started to pick up KOs only after MP 39, that's when I thought MPs were over engineered, and agreed to your points, had some strange design decisions.
      MP line is still growing, hope they can get it right just like what they claimed after the release of MP 54.

    • @DragoonMS
      @DragoonMS Před 2 lety

      @@OptimusLegends Ouch on Sunstreaker. Especially since there's no other options, given that he's literally THE most expensive of the Autobot Cars (with Arcee and her Decepticon retool Nightbird being a close second)...

      I share your concern, and over time, the situation for authentic takara copies got worse, especially in winters. people reported breakage out of the box without even transforming it, so that pushed me to choose the KO. MP44 and MP47 are the only two exceptions that I purchased only the KO version for takara's quality control issues.
