Just got back from Australia a few months ago. I absolutely love that place I was in Sydney. It would be dope to have a region based on that area!
So. Another person making an Australia Pokémon region. I am going to say this right now, as an Australian, I’m interested in your ideas. Just be ready for my harsh criticism because I do think this is something I don’t see very often 🤔
I'm currently making a region as well, and I also have a kangaroo! (A Fighting/Fairy type, its kind and very proud of its power. It challenges any Pokemon it considers strong to prove itself. When it wins in battle, it carries the defeated opponent in its pouch to the closest Pokemon Center.) I'm glad our kangaroos are so different!

An expected professor. But for good reason. Considering his zoo is located in Queensland, as well as the road named after him, seems like a good starting town, but that is not to take away from your choice. I actually like how you picked the town.
Aaaaand then I got to where the Professor's Lab is, so never mind. On with the goodness.
Bright is a beautiful location and definitely helps make this an easy win beyond the already existing bias.
You included the bin-chicken. Another win. Although fittingly, whilst on Cramorant, actually see the bin-chicken about as much as the Cormarant bird, that bask in the sun, looking like tiny Dragons.
Cool post-game. Really liked the details and updates. It's always fun listening to what people would envision for an Australia region, so well done on all of this. Look forward to seeing you take it to the Hidden Power Podcast.

Personally I want Mexico and Peru the most. The history and culture are great and the Paldea connection could be a good bridge.
Really like the approach to Australia. Both fauna and characters are amazing. The DLC is what intrigued me the most!

great, you made a pokemon region again based this time on australia, the region based on the netherlands at first didn't seem so cool to me, but after reading the presentation and thinking about the concepts I ended up liking it more, I spent some time fantasizing on what the pokemon, places and trainers would be like, by the way since you are showing what some of those pokemon would be like do you plan to continue and if so, would you also do it with the kanvas region, because I would love to see what ideas you have in mind
i am open to a pokemon region based on Australia. Australia is pretty big so a pokemon region could be pretty sizeable if it is base on it. Plus it is not one of those places that Game Freak avoids due to some controversary or politic issues.
🤣 I literally am playing SV at the moment while I listen to this, and when you said about Kickachu that it would be Electric/Fighting I genuinely thought: “oh that would be a nice change!” Completely forgetting about the Pawmi line, and then remembering why I forgot it: they finally gave us a three stage pika clone again but they made it awful and as underwhelming as humanly possible 😂

okay so I had this for a while so if you look at the Pokemainac and at his shirt, you will see a yellow kangaroo so I thought of Australia this is evidence that Aussie will be a new region

Fire Type Starter - Kangaroo
Grass Type Starter - Koala
No exceptions. These animals are far too iconic to Australia to NOT be the starter trio.
See, it’s BECAUSE they are so iconic to the region that I wouldn’t want them as starters. Because since they are so iconic, I’d want to see them running around in the wild!
@@lumiosepost As an Australian, I can tell you the only one I see irl is kangaroo if im really lucky. The other two are naturally elusive.
Also, thylacine (tasmanian tiger) seems more legendary in my opinion. The buffalo is a good one, but they're actually an invasive species in Australia. Emu would be a cool ride pokemon.
I would pick Calfleak for Pokemon Seas and Jovire for Pokemon Skies

@@cairneoleander8130 Pokemon can have multiple design inspirations.
For example - people also say Cyndaquil is a Mouse, but its anything but a Mouse. Its based on an Echidna, with Tenrec and Porcupine traits.
Psyduck and Golduck are not only based on Ducks, but Platypus as well (Psyducks beak gives it away).
A Golduck?! *puts on a fedora* Perry the Golduck!!!
The professor, also being the champion, is kind of boring just because of how predictable it is.

@@lumiosepost imo the professor would work better as a secret post game battle as a reward for completing the pokedex. The champion could be his children instead, making a unique pokemon league with the first region to have 2 champions to battle. Sort of like what hoenn did with Tate and Liza.
