- Aup, welcome back to this weeks video where I talk about the passing of my father and the difficult time we went through as a family. Also share many memories and stories of my dad and photos.

Thank you for that. Jim Anderton, the ex-deputy prime minister of New Zealand had 2 children both had depression or bi polar, the daughter was an artist the paintings reflected her moods. The black ones were black! Jim Anderton was a friend of the family and both children succumbed to bi-polar by taking their own lives ! So once again thank you for making people aware of this condition ! thank u
You are such a strong, lovely young man. You have been through something horrible, but you chose to focus on the positive memories of your dad and it is obvious how much you loved and admired him. My husband of 30 years died in 2016 (from cancer) and it has been a long, difficult journey. It's taken a long time to work through the sadness and anger, to arrive at a place of being able to experience joy in my daily life. Your mom (and I'm sure your dad) must be so proud of the man you've become. I wish you joy from Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA

Saw your video shared on Facebook mate. Not often I comment but I have to this time. I lost my Dad the same way back in 2019, I was 27 at the time and I was the one to find him.. Had to perform CPR on him until the ambulance arrived etc, it was an experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! I can't imagine what it did to you at 13 years old, but what I will say is what a cracking young lad you are now! Youre a credit to your Dad and he'll be very proud of you! You speak with such maturity and sense. Not many 19-20 year old have their head screwed on like you do. I agree with you fully about how it either makes or breaks a person, I have my bad days but on the whole I feel I've moved forward with it behind me, thinking about the good memories more than the horror of that day! Very brave sunshine, but then of course better than bottling it all up. We all miss him. Good mantra for mental health too.
Also as someone who has been through the thoughts of suicide and several attempts (obviously failed) the way you talked about it being an option that will happen again another time if stopped is true, you are so strong storm and you are keeping me entertained during this winter (the hardest time for me mentally) thank you ❤

So brave of you to do this Storm! Your Dad was one of the best people I've ever met & he will always be in my heart! You are so like him & he'd be very proud ❤️ I remember when he swapped cars with me and let me take the range rover and had my 1 series 🤣🤣🤣 it cost me a fortune in petty because I was picking all my mates up and driving round Stafford all day !!!! 💙

Thank you for sharing what is clearly a very personal story. You Dad would be so proud of the man you have become. I am taking a Mental Health First Aider course ahead of the 2023 season so know that I am always around to talk. Oh and I get my mop cut every 4-5 weeks……feel like a slouch now 😂

Aww storm, im sorry you went through that when you were younger. u honestly have come a long way. i've been watching BSB a lot more recently, and i went to Cadwell park on 25th august, 2024 whenever you went past i was always cheering, even tho it was only qualifying, i was on the start finish straight always just watching you go past. i wanted to get your signature, but i didnt realise u were at the bennetts bit so i missed out!!, are you doing signings at Donnington? because id love to be able to talk to you and have a picture with you, you are a massive inspiration to me.

I was just telling my son, who's 10, about your dad and yourself and came on here and found this video.
I remember you running about the place, getting under my feet as i worked 😂 and climbing about the diablo in the showroom.
Was a blast from the past seeing this and great seeing how you've matured.

Fair play to ya storm. Obviously not a very easy subject to talk about but to be willing to put yourself in the firing line to potentially help others is very commendable, shows what type of character you have. I've had my dark moments at times but something I always try to stick to "change your thoughts and your world changes" keep up the positivity and good luck with next season 🎩

Great Video. I enjoyed having chats with your dad when you guys came to Whilton Mill for the bike events. The top hat, colourful shirts, and he had great stories and things to chat about. He really was 1 of a kind

Thanks for this insight Storm. Your dad would be immensely proud of the young man you have become. I will never forget first meeting you in Gary Dawson’s motor home at BSB and the interview you did with Paul for BIKERfm. Then the next time I saw you you were stood beside me at Gary’s funeral.

So much love and respect for you Storm 🥰 You will undoubtedly be helping so many people by being so open and approachable about mental health. My boys lost their dad suddenly when they were 16 and 11. The impact of that has been a constant work in progress for the three of us over the years. I wish I’d been more open with people about my struggles as I think I’d have helped both myself and my boys more if I’d done that. I think because people kept saying I was being strong I felt it was a weakness to not be, so I buried way too much. As you say, it’s so important to reach out and talk.

Mate, i can only imagine how hard this video is for you to make, suicide has plagued my family.
It never gets any easier, you just learn to deal with the pain better, talking like this brings it all back.
Im slowly realising the people who take their own lives seem to try their hardest to make others as happy as they wish they were.
I hope you have a good support network around like as i do, if not even though youre a bsb star and a youtuber my inbox is open for you too and anyone else.
