I went to school in Ghana and believe me when I say 'you learn' you learn! I went to 2 private schools and because certain subjects such as Ghana History were not what I knew I had to drop down a year...wasn't happy but it was the best thing. The teachers are very strict and are not there to mess around. Don't know how things are now but in my time it was all learn and no play lol.
Woman, you are doing a valuable service to your children "and" the community at the same time . I won't wait to give you your flowers . I appreci-love and support how you meter your power to have just the right affect as you trailblaze your life with us in tow . Brilliant . ✊🏿
Well said 😊. Rochelle's energy is amazing. She's humble, purpose driven, free-spirited and structured. Are they going to private school or govt school? 😊And Rochelle, what were the factors that allowed you to decide? 😊
Yeah I'm ghanian living in america for 9 years now. I'm basically African american at this point other than music and my parents I feel like I have no connection with Ghana
Just so nice to see Naomi and Jordan going to school in Ghana. Wow, they are going to have a great time. No winter coats, woolie hats and gloves and snow shoes. The school wear is all year round. Glad to see this happy video.
White people do this all of the time...uproot their families and assimilate into another country and culture. So, thank you Rochelle for sharing your journey and experiences with us. It's inspiring 😊
You're such an inspiration Rochelle. I can't say it enough Love what you're doing and love that the kids seem so receptive to what you're trying to achieve..this is great!
It’s good to see the kids again!😊 Naomi is so beautiful🥰 Jordan is always so energetic, those pants!🤣I know Rochelle didn’t pick those pants. I hope they have a great year and learn a lot. It’s certainly different from the way they learned in Canada I’m sure. They are smart kids though, they will adapt nicely!😊
See, Rochelle has done her homework on Ghana. I’m watching others who wanted to head straight to East Legon/ Airport and live the high life but they turned up with only their suitcase and now they’ve had to return.
Those people were not genuine if you watch their videos you will understand they dont consider themselves are Africans... they were Black Europeans. Another thing I have observed is some people feel if they move to Ghana their channel will improve. Perhaps that was their game plan. Because the sort of properties they were renting were not for the long haul.. ie not sustainable.
Ditto. She moved to ghana first without the kids, had a feel of the life and culture, rented outside the main metro area, didn't buy or rent a car she couldn't afford..etc. and to top it all off, she's giving back to the rural communities. What's there not to like about this. Smart woman!
Your daughter is so..beautiful and your son is so..handsome I guess the apple doesn't fall too fare from the tree we love you guy's your positivity and energy is simply out of this world 🥰😍❣❤🔥🙏🏾👍🏾
Your kids might not realise it now but this experience living abroad in a totally different type of life (third world country) is going to be THE BEST experience of their life! I have done this for 2 years n wished i wouldve done it sooner. A country where your skin tone is the norm around you is comfort in itself.
Our school in the US does not have recess either. The kids must eat lunch in their classrooms and get about 15 minutes outside for a "brain break" but not a normal recess. These restrictions are in place because of Covid and is said to limit the amount of exposure to other kids not in their class.
Whatttttt???!!! I am shook!! Rochelle Clarke from Canada moved to my home country Ghana? Whatttt!!!! wow! need to catch up with your vlogs. Wow, am amazed!
Jordan aka Mr. Personality is too much, lol! It is good to see the kids are enjoying themselves in Ghana. I pray they begin to let lil man out for recess, soon. Most boys his age especially need that physical break in order to help them focus better throughout the school day.
The kids looks so cute in their uniform, I loved that you’re giving them this great experience they will thank you when they get older I hope !! Love the stolen from Africa tee you should seek them I need one 😀 🙏🏾💕😍
Sometimes we're quick to criticize or look down on actions and deeds of Africans. For all you know their decision is well thought of. Hence the reason why they are not wallowing in the virus like here in the US or Canada. My sister in law told me they take 2 breaks for lunch and snack, that usually last half an hour to 45 minutes. Then back to class. All other activities are on hold for now because of the pandemic. Isn't that reasonable? The kids are there to learn.
Most Ghanaian schools don’t play when it comes to education and they believe in discipline. However this produces excellent students who then go onto the best universities in the world.
Naomi is such a sweet heart. I’m sure when she settles into school she will feel less home sick. I think growing up in Ghana as a teen will be more fun than CA
I personally think It's easier making friends in school in Ghana as compared to the US because of how schools are structured there. In Ghana it's like you grow up with your friends but over here everyone minds their business which I'm not really used to
How I wish I could experience the "minding their own business part" that's only a dream or a wish here in the states. 😒 I plan to come there sooner than later. 🤞🏽
@@moonchildsb8971 yes they are similar but from my experience I think the way schools are structured in Ghana or other countries like Nigeria makes it easier for people to form friendships, everyone talks to eveyone. You are less likely to be on your own.
I see some people throwing shades about the non recess. Sometimes we're quick to criticize or look down on actions and deeds of Africans. For all you know their decision is well thought of. Hence the reason why they are not wallowing in the virus like here in the US and Canada. A 16 year old girl died of covid in Florida just yesterday. I've been told by my sister in law that they do take 2 breaks for lunch and snack that usually last half an hour to 45 minutes. Then back to class. All other activities are on hold for now because of the pandemic. Isn't that reasonable? The kids are there to learn the most important thing. Isn't it? I guess the reason why Ghanaian school kids are so smart.
School in Africa is fun you literally make lifelong friends! Everyone talks to everyone and generally all get along. In the west I feel children are more awkward and stick to a particular friend group.
I am so happy the Kids love school in Ghana!! i am yet to try curry goat with the skin on..Rochelle give the skin a chance man..throw in some broad beans(lima) inna it.. if you like cow foot..you will like it..i hope you took your pressure cooker with you because i went to the mega store in Accra mall and it was selling for 900 cedis😉😗
So @Rochelle if Naomi is cool with school then i am good too. As for Jordan i know he's already crowned a "chief" somewhere in Ghana so he will be fine.
They are all been staying home for so long, even Canada the same. The kids eat in the classroom. They get to go out a little bit , about 15mins for recess. He is not missing anything.
Rochelle, in Ghana, kids in school compete for smartness. You are expected to be smart with self respect. You are expected to be the doctor, the lawyer and the tech guy. It’s all normal. They would feel like first class citizens.
Loving your videos Rachelle, maybe Jordan could do some football after school or karate something to get his energy out if he’s not having recess at the moment. Also don’t know if you’ve done a video on this but you actually seem like one of the expats who has managed to make it work coming to Ghana assimilating and even got their kids into school. So what makes you different how did you find your apartment it seems to be in a really nice area what area is it obviously you don’t have to tell us the street or block even school what made you choose the school you have chosen for your children is it in International school? Or just a local Day school? What is your monthly budget for a family of three do you find it cheap and easy to make ends meet in Accra because we are always hearing that it’s very expensive to live there? What led you to the area you finally chose to live in opposed to the famous East Legon where a lot of expats flock too.
My kids sch every other day recess and the days they don’t. They watch movies and they can’t talk . My kid was so annoyed but it’s just to prevent germs spreading.
The "no recess" thing isn't for all Ghanaian schools... Many schools have recess while observing the COVID protocols. It's usually a School's choice to do that or not... However, children have the right to play and go outside no matter what. So, I think your kids' school should let them... Regardless, I'm glad they're liking it in school... Much love
