Very helpful, thanks! The b-roll tips are especially useful, and not just for youtube videos. I've had to jump in on some indie film projects and capture b-roll -- after filming has wrapped -- to help the editor get around all sorts of problems with the primary footage. And recording ambient sound in a must! Most people forget about that, but it makes the audio editing so much better. I've made it a habit to do a take with each location of just ambient sound, for at least 30 seconds but more likely a minute or two.
Mistake #2 hurts me because i always do this 😢 I remember the Shelby interview and man I am grateful I’m not the only one who goes through this 😅appreciate the honesty 🎉❤
What has the pocket three helped you with the most? BTS? Everyday filming? I love the tech…I just want to know what people use it most for. Love your vids! Thanks for all of your education/informatikn!
You can get metal 1/4"-20 adapter that's smaller then DJI's buy searching for this: "PULUZ Charging Adapter Base for DJI OSMO Pocket 3,USB-C/Type-C Aluminum Alloy Stabilizer Base Bracket,1/4 Threaded Hole and Connector on The Bottom for Mounting to Tripods, Selfie Sticks"
Very informative video. I wonder if you use noise canceling feature in mic2 , your voice is very clear. I am not big fan of dji noise cancellation feature , how do you make it that good? 🎉🎉
I really liked this video. It helped me change my mind on the mic 2 unit. I have the original mic 1 from dji. Now I feel confident watching your video that I can also get to the proper settings to make better videos when we travel on vacation. Oh yea, I just placed my order with Best Buy and will have it before the end of the month. TIA!
Thanks for the great tips! We just purchased the Osmo Pocket 3 this week and trying to figure out how to use it. What software do you use to edit your videos with since you control the coloring during editing when you're not shooting in normal mode?

Thank you! I was just editing a video where I did the exact same mistake with the transmitter!!! If all else fails and the audio really wasn't recorded, you could do a voiceover with b-roll or if you're using Adobe Premiere, their audio enhancements can help a lot, depending on how bad the audio is. I too have an issue with the color and sharpness - it makes me look quite bad and the saturation is too high. I really wanted to use it because it's so easy, so it's a pain that the solution s d-log, but I appreciate you sharing this. Have you done any videos on editing that? Thank you!
Is internal recording when it records the audio with the video clip in to the osmo 3. Or is it when the transmitter records a separate audio or both? With the same quality
Is it better get action camera instead pocket 3 if I use it on daily basis flipping screen several times? I have seen videos where screen gets stuck while flipping and there is no dji service center in my country
The only problem with the internal recording on the DJI Mic 2 is that it drifts. None of the firmware updates have addressed this problem. You might not notice it on a short recording, but it soon goes out of synch on longer ones.
How can we mitigate the egregious amount of top-space/head-space when filming ourselves? I'm assuming you have active tracking/AF on, and while keeping you center framed (good), it natively gives (one) such an off-balance of headspace. Immediate example is this video's thumbnail -- that is a more pleasing, dare I say "correct" composition of a person's head in the frame in regards to the top of the frame.
Hey I've a question, i create fitness vlogs, talking head, reaction vids and i was shooting on my phone but now I'm planning to buy a camera, initially i had decided that I'll take osmo pocket 3 but now after seeing zve10 ii I'm kinda confused. Can y please guide me, it'll be very helpful
@@user-fj6ix6up8oyou cant really compare the zve10ii , the e10ii is basically an ilc ( interchangeable lens camera ) that also inherited the sensor from a cinema camera. The pocket 3 is mostly focused on ease of use and stabilization , the e10ii needs a wide lens to compensate or even a gimbal ( adds 800-900 grams )
@@user-fj6ix6up8oPocket 3 has a built-in wide-lens only which is more for filming outdoor and vlog style. In case you need to zoom-in for talking head videos indoor, it’s possible with up to 2x digital zoom. Keep in mind that you can’t control the aperture, but you can control iso + shutter speed. Now with ZV-e10 or any mirrorless camera, you can attach different lenses and fully control the exposure including aperture (f stop). So maybe combine a recent iphone model with OP3.
Thanks, so, much for ALL the useful information you provide! Regarding "Artlist," can their AI Voiceovers be used on CZcams channels that are monetized?
I'm still not convinced about the design decision to have an entirely new extension just for the 1/4 inch mount. I'm sure they should have fit that mount on the main body of the camera. I get that it also provides a bigger area to hold too but the battery extension provides that also.
@@Gemini_Connect Is it only held on via USB-C? That doesn't seem very sturdy. I'm in the market for a camera for my channel, but don't want to have just GoPros. I've been leaning toward the Insta360x4.
Hi... can you please help, I am struggling with keeping my hands steady while using the Pocket 3... is there any thing I can do to practise steadier hands while filming...?
Man, the DJI Mics are of great quality, but I don't think I would ever use these just based on how much they weigh down your clothing and that looks very tacky to me. I understand the internal recording is cool and all, but I have been so happy with the Hollyland Mark 2. Super small, discrete, and don't weight down your clothing. I see a ton of CZcamsrs using the DJI and the way it makes your shirt look just urks me so bad.
Hello, I have a problem with the receiver gain of the DJI Mic 1: I'm using my DJI Mic 1 on my Samsung Galaxy S22, the problem is that the receiver gain does not respond and it doesn't matter whether I set it at -12, 0 or +12 (DB). In consequence I have to set the transmitter gain to approx. -6 db to prevent audio clipping in the recording (the audio level in the video recording app in standard mode can't be adjusted, only in pro mode). The result is a rather high noise floor with lots of artifacts in the recording. Do you know how to solve this problem without changing the recording chain of 'receiver-transmitter-phone, video app in auto mode)?
I got my pocket 3 last week. My content is in a gym that has really bad lighting and it's mostly for reels / tiktoks. I don't want to use the low light mode as I want the d-log M colour mode that low light doesn't support. But i find it really hard to get the ISO / Shutter speeds right. Trying to colour grade with that kinda footage is hard for me. I'm a beginner so of course will get better wth experience but I can't find many good tutorials for that kind of scenario unfortunately. Any suggestions?
shoot in manual . Set resolution to 30fps ( or 60 if you want slow motion ) . Hutter to twice your frame rate ( i.e 30 fps = 1/60 ). set your ISO range to something like 50-600 ( so your ISO won't go over 600 . Shoot in D-LOG M and do a very simple color grade just by adding the DJI conversion LUT ( free on their website) . The lowlight adds auto noise reduction . So do a sample of both and see what you like . Hope it helps!
@@billbuckleytutorials thanks man! I've actually tried that exact setup. The gym has really low lights. I do some slow Mo stuff so generally I want to keep that 60fps. But I'm getting this flickering effect when I'm at 1/120. I think it's because of cheap florescent light that flickers super fast and the camera is picking it up? Lowering to 1/100 fixed it but then it's not double the fps
@@trainedbybryanSometimes you can’t fix the flickering issue without modifying the Shutter Speed even with Mirrorless Camera. Sometimes it’s possible to fix flickering in post (watch tutorials in youtube), but then it will make your workflow longer. In case you are taking close-up slow-mo shots , try with a mini super small led light that can be mounted as a cold shoe to OP3 mount (I use Ulanzi)
