Australian here but grew up in asia and my husband grew up here but in an asian household and we both don't wear shoes in our home. But the blank looks and confused stares we get from our friends when we ask them to take their damn shoes off is a bit annoying. Like we're not asking you to strip your clothes off man. Lol. One of our friends was like uh i can't because i've got cracked heels and my husband was like yeah that's why you leave your socks on but take the shoes off!
Easter European, Central Europeans, southern Europeans. I can’t remember when I decided to implement this rule at mines, like on my mid 20s. You just don’t bring dump at yours 😅
@@carliemichalak5682 True most ppl don't wear them all the time inside haha but pretty much everyone I know will walk in the house with their shoes on for a short amount of time

Middle easterns too 😅 I did an experiment in school where we swabbed different things to see the bacteria growth. The worst result was from under shoes. Take your shoes off!!!
They were taken off in front of the door and then put in the rack. I have shoe shelf inside too but i dont take my shoes off right there. It's because i dont have space near the door for shoe shelf
I'm American and feel the same. Our front door opens immediately onto carpeted stairs, which gives you about 1.5 feet to get your shoes off before youre f'ed
Canadians take their shoes off too, i wholly remember taking my shoes off, carrying them through the house, and putting them back on to run to the backyard 😂. Snowy boots for a good chunk of the year train us well 😂
In Germany it depends on where you left the thing you forgot. If it is close to the door then with shoes. If it is inside some bedroom upstairs then without shoes.
Me being a Mexican that lives with goatheads 💀: “uhm *takes my shoes off and grabs my phone then puts my shoes back on and walks out of the door* it’s easy man, and yes I’m wearing sneakers.”
There's also gonna be a carpet in the corridor. Like, maybe don't put easy to dirty rug in the dirtiest spot? Although 1st place belong to those who put rugs under dining tables
house shoes over the street shoes! or step on them and shuffle 😅 if you can use the guest house shoes, even better. and in the winter: use the "cleaning the shoes of snow and let them dry on rag" to shuffle (only really works well if the shoes are not wet/coverd in snow yet)
My house and my BF - shoes off at the door - have slippers we leave at each doorway to include the garage. I am a barefoot gal so I just keep flipflops at the doorways to wear outside unless we are going somewhere then shoes to match the outfit are in hand to put before heading out.
It’s so funny because I have done this before because I had mopped and cleaned my entire house and refused to walk back into the house with shoes, but I didn’t want to take them off because I was wearing stockings and some other stuff but funny though😅
When I was a kid, I was raised by my mum full-time and she didn't care about shoes in the house. My dad, however, cared very much about this when he had me over. I didn't get it until I made friends with a bunch of Asian and European exchange students as a freshman in high school. I'm a tiptoer 😅😅
I married an American and we have the shoe rack by the door, the Dr I saw about my heel issues told me not to so much as walk to the kitchen for water without my orthopedic insoles. I'm currently searching for house shoes options that can do that but not finding it.😅
Being brought up in an Asian house in Britiain I thought it was just us that didn't wear shoes in the house but seems that the rest of the world are doing the same apart from the British and American
Or you take off only one shoe and jump around the house with one leg
No, that's bad luck!!!😮
Take really big steps and make it as quick as you can 😅
THIS is what we are doing 😂
Yes!!!
From Romania. This is so me. 😅
I just tiptoe 😂 not sure if it helps but I'm too lazy to take the shoes off

Don't forget counting to 10 before you leave because going back inside when you've already left can bring bad luck and spirits into the house.
Honestly same in asian households too 😭🙏🏻
American here! We don't wear shoes in our house either. Can't stand it when people do.
Majority of Americans def do
Some people do, but culturally speaking, it’s not a thing here.
Thank you! Never wore shoes in the house growing up, and never since!
Yes you do lol
I only eat house slippers
Those shoes would’ve been easy to just take off
It's not the same 😂
Croatia here: same! Sometimes we jump on one leg, or we walk on our heels, or tiptoe, or just avoid carpets😊

Same in Kurdistan. We have handmade carpets, and you don't *EVER* walk with your shoes on inside the house. 😭
In Australia it's half half. Depends what house hold. I'm definitely a no shoe house hold.
