I like that you start his achievement with his defense. In a NBA that is way too easy for the offensive players nowadays, what he makes with his defense is just crazy, far more than his scoring and assists.

Good video! Good luck with the channel. Wemby is listed 7'4", but a few players and others swear he has to be taller, maybe 7'5" or more.

The odds of Wemby regressing from where he is now are zero, barring any major injuries.

Absolutely no rookie season comes close to that of Wilt Chamberlain! 37.6 points, 27 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 72 games While averaging 46.4 mins played per game!!! Blocked shots and steals were not recorded but these stats (blocks for sure) would also likely be well above any other rookie season ever.
He took home not only ROY but also the league MVP that season! He also won the All-Star Game MVP, making him the only rookie to win all three of these MVP awards. The DPOY award was not around at this time, or he might have won this as well (likely battling Russel for this award).

Don't forget his greatest achievement to this day: Leading the San Antonio Spurs to an awesome 11-48 record through February of 2024!
He's a good player on the 2nd worst team in the conference. The Spurs are just so damn young, they got a lot of potential for improvement over the next few seasons. It's gonna be one hell of a grind though.
Here's what greatness actually looks like: The Lakers' improvement with only Magic Johnson's addition in 1980; The Bull's improvement with only Michael Jordan's addition in the mid 80's; and the Cleveland Cavaliers' improvement in 2 seasons with ONLY Lebron James as their major addition. And it's the rookie status of guys like Wilt Chamberlain, who turned their teams around pretty fast.
When Wembanyama gets to the level of turning the Spurs around like those type of guys, then we can call him great. I hope they figure it out within the next 2-3 years.
