What are your thoughts about the voting process for the Hall of Fame induction?
I never knew the voting process, but it is always that one.
In ALL SPORTS there should be more athletes and fewer journalists that have a vote. The votes of athletes should count for 67% of the weight and journalists 33% to become a HOF'er.
Facts no debates!!!!
Shannon, you know that Dr. Z had announced publicly that as long as Kenny Stabler was alive he would not vote him into the NFL Hall of Fame. No one knew the particulars of his reasoning, but I believe it was personal, which makes Stabler's snub more grievous. We witnessed a similar situation with Terrell Owens where sports writers were more concerned with his off field antics than his stats. Unless a player commits a criminal offense, and is convicted by a court of law, or breaks the rules of their sport, nothing should interfere with being selected into the HOF. Now, for the MLB HOF, Pete Rose broke the cardinal rule in both collegiant and professional sports, which is gambling. Mark Maguire, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds broke the rules of fair play by using PED's, therefore their entrance into the Hall is questionable at best, and probably never is a better assessment.
My suggestion for the HOF vote is that it is given to the players, active and recently retired; managers in baseball, and their coaches; Head coaches and their position coaches; and finally selected sports writers. This would make the selection process more equitable.

ITS LIKE CHURCH... CHURCH IS MADE FOR EVERYBODY BUT EVERYBODY DONT GO 2 TO CHURCH... HOF IS MADE FOR EVERYBODY TO EARN A PLACE THERE BUT EVERYBODY DONT GET INTO THE HOF
The Griffey vote is another example of why they need to publicize how each writer voted.

@@JonnySublime Grege maddux wasn't unanimous. He should have been unanimous way before griffey ever thought of making the HOF. Maddux was the goat pitcher in the steroid era and wasn't given 100% votes. So why would ANY of these guys get it over him. Lets talk about that one and fix that one. Man, to me that is still one of the coolest last names to ever appear on the back of a baseball jersey. I still remember watching him on TV as a kid, he was magical. Ken will be top 5 favorite batters to watch all time and like they mentioned, he had a smooth swing, man. Just pure beauty.

I remember watching Ken Griffey Jr as a little kid. Now for some reason I look twice as old as him.
Just think about this: Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Jackie Robinson, Stan Musual, Bob Gibson, etc.....NONE OF THEM WERE UNANIMOUSLY ELECTED TO THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME!!!!! SOMEONE ACTUALLY LEFT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE GREATS OFF OF THEIR BALLOTS!!!!!!

Living in Australia, I began following MLB because of Griffey Jr. Reckon that if he played golf that swing would make him a left handed version if Tiger Woods.
That was always going to happen. There's a HOF voter who said that he would never vote for anyone first ballot who played during the "Steroid era." KGJ had to suffer through that. I forget the guy's name, but I saw him on ESPN years ago saying that.
