I Would feel Gutted personally,,,
About what?
It's hard to say if it's what I'd expect for the money. Depends on the quality of the knife
The knife seems ok, its a nice scandi grind with a reasonable 1095 high carbon steel. The viking theme seems a bit cheesy but to be honest I kinda like that 😂ATB, Graham
@grahamswildcamping I was slightly worried for you when the cord storage thing popped up. A decent knife won't give you much change from £100🙂
@@Drew-Abbottha! Yeah, I would have been a bit disappointed if the spill was the highlight of the box 😂
I'd never spend £100 on a mystery box - so this was the next best thing 😂 and aside from the knife I'm pretty pleased I didn't buy one. It had some good useful stuff inside - apart from that paracord wrap thing that you weren't sure what it was (me neither, I didn't have a clue) - and the axe was a bit weird with the wrench key holes in. The knife seems to be pretty cool though, and I'm sure you'll get good use out of it with that wee sharpening stone. Nice that the sheath had the reinforced inner as well 👍🏼 I hope you get yourself out properly soon, you'll be going stir crazy. Cheers Graham, a nice and different vid, and very enjoyable to watch :)
Thanks Donna, yeah it was a bit of a pricey experiment! I haven't been out for an overnighter for more than two months now and you're right, going a bit stir crazy, fortunately got some plans coming up. Cheers 🙂🙂👍👍
Talk about buying a pig in a poke.
Ah well, perhaps some you win some you lose, thanks for watching, ATB, Graham 👍
My criteria as to the worth of these "boxes" is...would I purchase any one of these items if I walked into an outdoor store.
Usually the answer is a resounding no.
You got me there! I think I would have bought the knife, nothing else!
@@grahamswildcamping :- I agree, but only if I needed that particular knife.
You have to think would you have brought all these items if you was in the shop .Not much of a saving £7 for buying things blind. But you seemed happy with things that is all that matters .Nice knife by the way
Oh yeah, it’s not an efficient way of buying things and I didn’t save much this time but it was fun 😊, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Well ,I think you did ok for £100 , I have no experience with the axe you got or any axe that size but it would be good to see what you can do with it in a new vid .I had no idea they made cord winders I have been making my own for years rather like the ones we used in fishing when I was a kid "float winders " we called them everything ready on shortish line ready to attach when you got to the river bank . Everyone loves paracord so no worries on that score you can't have too much ,nor too many water sterilizing tablets either and as for the knife well I love it I have a number of Condor knives and while I am not a fan of every single design, they do make superb practical blades and damn fine sheaths to go with them as you just found out and I hope you enjoy using it .Great vid nice to see you I just found you today so I look forward to more of your work .
Thanks, got to admit, the cord spool had me baffled until I looked it up but I think I'll get some use out of it now. Nice to hear you've got a few condor knives and you find them reasonable. I do like the knife I got with the box and I'll try and use that axe for a bit of food prep on my next video. Thanks for your kind words and ATB, Graham 👍👍
Have always wondered with these boxes
They’re a bit of a gamble but can pick up some nice kit 👍
The half round recess on the cord winder looks as if it would hold a lighter. Cheers. Jon
Thanks, I’ll try that, that would make it even more functional, ATB, Graham 👍
I liked the knife nice chunky handle compared to knives of comparable size. I think you did ok
Thanks, I'm not too unhappy and the knife seems pretty good quality, atb, Graham👍
nice one Graham, love a mystery box. the knife looks chos! hatchet will help butcher small game and prep herbs. .. mebeez use that spool for a bit of hand lining 🎣
@@paulmortal7611 I love a good mystery box too! Yeah happy with the knife and like you say I’m sure I could put that little axe to work with meat and veg prep. Good idea with the spool 👍 thanks very much and ATB, Graham 👍
Nice video mate , love that knife !
@@macinthewild8116 thanks mate, yep, happy with that knife!
Nice one Graham 👍
@@jimmy.mccutcheon.1961 thanks Jimmy 👍👍
That knife looks awesome !
I think the axe looks decent but agree with you should not have spanner gaps 👍
🤣🤣🤣
Great vid dude !
@@Tominthetent thanks very much, time will tell, but I think the tools are pretty decent, ATB, Graham 👍
Nice bit of bushcraft tools, i need a good knife, ive got the agawa camping saw, works well for me👍
@@WildBorkysadventures just been checking out the agawa saw- looks good, might be what I get when I’m in the market for a new saw, cheers, ATB, Graham 👍
@grahamswildcamping its a brilliant saw, packs up really well and 21inch blade saw through big thick branches no problem💪👍
Nice video Graham 👍
@@NorwayHikesTrails thank you very much mate 👍
A thousand poxes on mystery boxes! No offence intended. Regards
@@maxstotto3594 none taken! Mystery boxes certainly seem to be a bit of a marmite subject, judging by the comments! ATB, Graham 👍
Looks like you got a decent deal there Graham. Not to bad at all I like the look of the knife. Could you let me know how you find the paracord, I'm looking at buying some decent cord for a ridgeline. Thanks for sharing buddy👍👍
Sure, I’ll try the paracord out in the next few days. Thanks, yep, pretty happy with the knife, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Nice vid Graham , was the knife fulll tang, just subscribed
Hi mate, the knife was a full but narrowed tang, seems quite well made. Thanks for the sub, much appreciated 👍👍
It’s to wrap parachord
Thanks, I worked it out eventually with the help of google but it had be baffled for a while, ATB, Graham 👍
Is winter our new summer? When is a hatchet an axe? What happens if I ingest the silica balls? Great video, lots of food for thought!
Haha, thanks Shiv, not much, according to toxbase but they contain no nutritional value and they will swell a bit 😂😂
Hi Graham, weather ha ha for our next camp I hope it’s fine !!!
good box , apart from the para cord, did you need any of it, but just for collecting extra gear, it seems a bargain, and looks good gear.
Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper did I need any of it? No, but I wanted it 😂 Thanks Adrian, not too long until we can get out together and frankly I don’t mind what the weather does! I’ll just be glad to be out 😂👍
I don't see the point of these 'boxes,' other than a good way to shift old / unsold stock.
How many of those items did you actually need? Honest answer = Probably none, and now you're a hundred quid lighter.
It's just gambling, but you can never win.
It's certainly a gamble. You're right - I don't need much these days but a new knife is always welcome, ATB, Graham
Just take a lot of pemican
Or like me my homemade charcoal burners.charcoal is light.I use wood off the trail for boiling.
But I take a whole lot of thick fattty pork chops heavily salted and packed like sliced bread.they last days.even in heat.
The charcoal is for them .my charcoal grill is ultra economy. A cup of charcoal will do one thick chop.you can either snuff the unused coals or finish off with hot water for coffee. People are just not interested in my invention.but I try to advertise it .khantal wire. Or nichrome.
The fire starts at the bottom. I make khantal wire net to hold the charcoal and the resulting dry heat flow reduces flare ups.plus its more economic with charcoal

Can’t beat a pork chop 😋
