Such a great era for music. As good as this album is, WASP was considered a "Second Tier" band at the time. I remember seeing them open for Kiss on the Animalize tour at Chicago's UIC Pavillion. WASP's stage backdrop featured huge pikes with giant, bloody effigies of the bandmembers' heads impaled thereupon. The band sounded tight and clean. Lawless was in good voice to boot.

Because of the PMRC. Not only did they force the industry to label albums they made it their prime objective to make sure W.A.S.P. couldn't play live in tons of places. Basically by the end of the 80s they were banned from playing most arenas in US America. It's the reason for the album Crimson Idol, the record company wouldn't help them and it lead to the break up of the band and Blackie moving overseas. He still called the band WASP but it was really his solo career for most of those later albums.

I’m a lot younger than most Wasp fans. I accidentally came across Wild Child on Music Choice’s 80’s Metal channel one day around 2000 when I just started high school. I’ve been a GIANT Wasp fan ever since. They were definitely “outta style” then, but I didn’t give a damn! Everyone else was bumpin Jay Z, Mobb Deep, Eminem and all that shit. Not me… I’ve been jammin to Wasp ever since! The Crimson Idol is one of the greatest albums of all time, and is criminally underrated. FISTFUL, FISTFUL OF DIIIIIIIIIIAMONDS! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

@@tiborpurzsas2136 Yeah i see this comment a lot lol, W.A.S.P were huge. I am not old enough to have seen them at their peak, i saw them in 2005, in a small town, at most 100 people, they still killed it, and Blackie was deranged and full of energy, best gig i have been to, nothing topped it since.

1.2 million views... should be higher. This was, and still is an exceptional album. Blackie's song writing matured on this album. Inside the Electric Circus followed and then Headless Children. I believe, for me, these were W.A.S.P.'s best material.

Jeez I haven't listed to this since the 80s. I was stationed overseas and was using a borrowed POS turntable-stereo combo. The bowling alley had a video jukebox (the first I'd ever seen) and Blind in Texas was on regular rotation. My metal band at the time played that song as well. Good times.

Axl seems to be a big WASP fan, there were a couple of funny anecdotes about that when he was on Eddie Trunk with Sebastian Bach. He'd be depressed and refuse to come out to do a show then would put on WASP and get fired up and go out and hit the stage (late, but at least he did it lol)
