KURA Revolving Sushi MUST TRY

  • In this feature, we visit one of the newest revolving sushi bar in Las Vegas. KURA is very popular in Japan and California and recently opened its doors to Las Vegas. Revolving Sushi is a new style of restaurants to Las Vegas. (I think it's because the summer temperatures may have impeded with healthcode and fish?)
    Either way, I'm excited to have these revolving sushi bars in our town. Kura has a fun interactive screen that displays a playful video when you slide your empty plates in the disposal. After sliding 15 plates, you receive a Bikura Pon, with a small toy inside. Clean, friendly staff, Rolls were good but I wish the Nigiri had less rice.
    Total bill for two people: $40 (after tax)

    So checking out is an "Self Honesty"thing? I know why this chain work in Japan because the Japanese culture teaches people to be honest. But here in America, it's the opposite. "If you don't get caught, then it's not a crime" That's how things are in the U.S. I don't see staffs or anyone there to verify the plates. So someone can cheat on how many they eat.

    • @JohnSmith-nj4zq
      @JohnSmith-nj4zq Před 3 lety

      @james ahn So a person purposely not put the plates in and just stack some on the table or just put them underneath a table. Since there's no staff to verify, then you can cheat on how many you eat. Only when someone comes to clean the table, then will they find out about it. By that time, those guys would have been long gone after paying cash. Since cash can't be traced back like credit cards.

    • @Ari180_RE
      @Ari180_RE Před 2 lety +2

      @@JohnSmith-nj4zq I'm sure there's a way to track who comes in as they can likely tell who takes plates and such. Also wouldn't be surprised if they charge additional for tracking in case anyone tried.

    • @JohnSmith-nj4zq
      @JohnSmith-nj4zq Před 2 lety

      @@Ari180_RE They did say there's hardly any staff or even security guards. I think they save money on hiring more staffs that's why even if a few customers cheats them, they'll still make more money due them not having to hire that many people. With all these health cares and other benefits the owners have to spend, it's just better to use automated machines instead.

    • @manilaspade1005
      @manilaspade1005 Před 2 lety

      Doubt you can cheat. For example I unknowingly (first time) didn’t know that you had to wait until you are done eating for putting the plates back. So I kept wondering why the staff wouldn’t pick the plates from our table. Then when it was time to pay I said “no” plates have not been picked up . They all came running to my table 😂😂 only part I didn’t like the manager thought I was trying to cheat.

    I’ve been to Kura twice, once at the San Diego location and then at the LA location both of the times my family and I were not impressed.
    1st- they charge WAY too much for sushi that has been rotating around for hours
    2nd- the quality of the sushi is absolutely horrible
    You will be better off saving your money to go to an actual sushi bar around the same area as their restaurant

    • @lojosol
      @lojosol Před 3 lety +2

      Their sushi doesn't rotate around for hours, the max is 30 minutes before the system rejects the sushi from the belt.
      if you really are worried about that, you don't have to pull anything from the conveyor belt, you can order everything from their touch screen at the table and it will be made to order.
      yes the sushi is not as perfect as sushi at a high end full service sushi restaurant, because there is no sushi chef there. most of the process of the sushi making is done by machine. doing so does lower the quality a little but it allows for the sushi to be offered at a lower price, and is actually done the same way in Japan and such places are insanely popular there.
      yes, a full service restaurant is going to be better, but this place allows you to try different types of sushi without breaking the bank
