Will Sora Replace Filmmakers and Video Creators?

  • A couple of weeks back, OpenAI left us all speechless with a demo of Sora, their new AI that turns text into stunning videos in seconds. If you've caught the demos, you know Sora's magic - cinematic clips up to a minute long, sometimes even crafting full trailers. I still remember watching the first demo, feeling a whirlwind of awe, inspiration, and a hint of fear.
So, the big question: Is Sora going to replace us creatives in video and filmmaking? Here's where I stand.
For those new here, I juggle a production company and a media business focused on educational content, all while diving deep into AI for a year. Mixed feelings? Absolutely.
Tyler Perry recently paused a huge studio project due to Sora, despite it just being a demo phase. This move, echoed by many in our industry, signals a massive shift. Yet, I see it differently - a golden opportunity.
Rewind to 2007, the DSLR revolution was kicking off. Many old-school photographers dismissed it, much to their later regret. I saw the change coming and leveraged it to build a successful production company. Fast forward, and AI, especially with tools like Sora, is poised to shake things up even more.
I've shifted gears, focusing on Generative AI with my new venture, Skill Leap AI, and even exploring AI to bring my film ideas to life. For anyone in video creation, this isn't just a challenge; it's an unprecedented chance to reinvent and stand out.
    Here's my take:
AI could democratize filmmaking, making storytelling and production more accessible than ever. I've started using AI for film pitches and believe we're close to blending AI with live-action seamlessly.
For my company, AI opens up innovative services for clients. It's not just about the video; it's the impact that matters, and AI can help us deliver that in new ways.
For creatives, now's the time to master AI tools, integrating them with your skills. Remember when the Canon 5D made cinematic video affordable? Or the early days of Facebook ads? AI is our new frontier.
So, to my friends panicking over Sora, see this as a fresh start, an opportunity to do what was once impossible. Let's embrace this shift and make the most of it.

I work for a major studio in Burbank and I can tell you, without a doubt, what you just described is exactly where we are headed and gearing towards for major films and shows. And in our particular studio and the many endeavors and companies it owns, it’s going to change the industry faster than most can imagine. This is the biggest studio entertainment conglomerate and the other large studios in the area are also doing their due diligence. This is why I am breaking off on the side to get ahead of it from the private production company level. There is great opportunity ahead. Some of us will put our heads together and figure out the next wave of production. Many will give up and call it a day. Exciting and scary.

The mark everyone seems to be missing (including yourself) either out of denial or lack of vision is that our value as a "story teller" is ALSO about drop to 0, along with the models and the actors and the camera vendor and the camera operator and the editors and the writers and everyone else.
There will be, much sooner than anyone seems to be anticipating, no need anymore for a human intermediary to get to those RESULTS that you admit are what matter (to the client pool). The technology is already an inch away (think about GPT plugins) from anyone, any company, any business, to be able to connect into an API that allows the AI to collect whatever DATA it needs from your business to generate the best content strategy, and that WILL include all the "creative" development.
Just like it can already come up with a story out of a simple prompt, nothing stops it from being able to take a more complex prompt accompanied by a DATA dump through some sort of API and then the AI itself delivering the whole enchilada without the need for any human intermediation. Why? Because the cost of iteration is nearly 0 under these subscription models. And even if each iteration were to cost a few dollars extra, it's still cheaper than hiring any human. If you don't feel satisfied with the immediate result, just prompt away for adjustments. Just like it's already possible to do.
That's exactly how so many young designers are losing the chance to even start a career. "Yes but you will still need an expert to overlook and prompt engineer the design process". No they don't. I'm seeing countless businesses just look a couple of tutorials on you tube on how to prompt for a logo, iterate a few times till they get the most satisfying result, and it's still faster, easier, and WAAAAAAAAAAAAY CHEAPER than paying a designer (to overlook the Ai designing a logo).
When it comes to these sort of massive shifts, it's all about the incentive structure. No one. No business, no matter what possible benefits either practical or ethical or philosophical there might be in hiring some human intervention, will be undercut by their competition if they can get similar or good enough results through a $50 dollar (or much less) subscription to whatever platform ends up consolidating the tech into a video/film/story production machine.

exactly my thought. Thank you. He is simply trying to be optimistic and adapt to the incoming change. It's difficult to see the bigger picture for him because it hurts his income and life so much, it's understandable. Have you seen the machine that creates burgers from start to finish without any human intervention using AI? That's exactly what is going to happen to Photography and videography. Now many photographers, including myself, just use AI to generate fashion models and avoid the hassle and headache of contacting real human models. I can do that until the companies hire someone who enters some text in a box or just use one of their employees.

      a) who will be the customers of all those companies if AI replaces them all b) if AI can replace all the people in a company itself it can also just be the company itself. c) everyone assumes that customers (as long they are humans, not AI itself) will happily consume the content created by AI and buy the stuff thats advertised, but maybe customers are just fed up fast by the spam-wave of AI generated content that will hit them d) there is a chance that AI may change how people see tech for the negative. Until now they see it as something that helps them, but if it begins to threaten a lot of ppl (critical mass for uprising is around 10%, thats not much) ppl may get overly rejective when it comes to tech in general. Thats one of the dangers that come with it. If it is like ppl said 100x the change than everything before you can also assume that resistance will be 100x aswell. I have more points, but for an internet discussion its enough lifetime spent :-)

You can't replace actors and here's why.
      Their names sell tickets.
Why paying Harrison Ford or Sam Jackson, when you can cut the budget and having an unknown actor that will do the same job?
Because the unknown actor is unknown and nobody cares.
The same applies for musicians, composers and writers.
The cheaper option existed long before AI, the extra value of a "name" can't be replaced.

@@pathosmoviesDon't think, that will happen. See, those who invented AI, the techbros, they are rich. The complete "american dream" was a lie, to get the crowd to work themselves to exhaustion to fulfill the goal of the rich: Gaining all the resources. They literally bought the planet (and the moon). The AI stuff exists only, to separate the masses from their sole purpose in society. Their work. After the final step is done, nobody will have a job anymore. And while the enthusiasts think, the techbros will bring utopia now, in reality the richest of the rich, the 1% will start to ask themselves, why they should support a hungry, unnecessary, obsolete crowd of 8 billion people, that bring nothing on the table and waste resources, while polluting their planet. I believe, they wouldn't see us as humans. More as rats or cockroaches. And then, there will be a plague, maybe like Covid. But deadly. And only the rich ones will have the money for the cure. Hundred years later in history, the AI teacher tells the kids of the holy race, that god came down to earth to erase the bad people once and for all. Now they live in heaven.
That's what our future will be like. I figured it out two years ago, when AI started to rise up. And every major step, from the annihilation of artists, to journalists and lawyers, over to the impact in fake news and politics, till today, when jobs are getting destroyed in such a fast pace (remember, when it all startet, everyone was telling us, that our jobs are save. "Nobody is willing to build a wall" as reference for those who know). I saw the changes and I knew, my predictions will be right. You have two options. Get rich fast. Or enjoy every day of the life you have left. It will be over pretty soon.

This shift is going to be seismic. I noticed as I was starting up a 2d and 3d design service on fiverr the gig opportunities started drying up in early 2023 as ai generative tools were starting to be rolled out.
Interview videos and testimony videos still need real people telling their stories in front of a real camera. Weddings, graduations and special events still need real documentation via photography and video. Real Estate professionals prefer the presence of a professional to photograph properties, but I'm anticipating AI generative tools getting more integrated in that market, where the DSLR photographer will no longer be needed. Also as this technology gets repackaged for mobile apps, that will put more power into the hands of an unskilled end user, allowing them to bypass the skilled videographer / animator to accomodate a more instant-gratification mentality. The best way to look at the bright side is that creatives are typically very dynamic and adaptive, and the most flexible among us will find a way through this.

i think the days of 400 million dollar movies are going to be a thing of the past, its like when super producers like Timbaland, and Swizz beats were working with almost every artist, and they were charging almost 500,000 for a track, they had all the resources and even inflated budgets because nobody could do what they could do creative wise, but when the "Fl studio'' programs became accessible for cheap and places like Beatstars and home studios, now producers can enter into the field and become creative and connect with other artist, now producers are lucky to get anywhere near 15,000 dollars for a beat because its now over saturated, but the ones with talent will now outshine the ones with equipment

The way I see it is like this along time ago. If you wanted to see someone act, you would have to go to a theater play then came the films and all of a sudden people were scared that this new invention would replace actual live performance but it didn’t. It actually continue to grow side-by-side with films…. Same thing when it came with the invention of VHS tapes or DVDs, even Blu-ray, and that last streaming.. anything that is unknown is always going to be scary at first… but for me, I’m willing to embrace it because it’s either you adapt to it or you die, holding on the old ways of how to do things… as for me I’m a survivor and I’m gonna learn every bit on how to create art with it

I haven't seen a single convincing "this happened before" argument related to this. Consider this is not a change in medium or format, all those examples you gave required lots of people to carry the new technology.
Here we are saying that the 800 people you needed to produce a blockbuster can now be replaced by a single screenwriter feeding prompts for a week. No need for actors, extras, photography, cinematography, costumes, special effects... Hell, you won't even have to shoot on location anymore, and I can assure when this is capable of producing a full movie it will initially only be affordable for studios and corporations. I'm not even going to go into marketing and graphic design, the 1% must be salivating about this.

My fear is that once AI becomes common, audiences will never be wowed by films again. Everything will be brushed off as "it.s AI, so what." Soon we'll need to label our films as "human made" and then soon people will stop believing in that label. If movies lose their special magic I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Remember seeing Jurassic Park for the first time? Everyone asked how they did that? I understand and I like this outlook on things. Very interesting. Here are a couple things that are bugging me :
1 - Why wouldn't clients ask companies in other countries to produce this same content ? Since like you said you can work internationally ? Pricing is also going to be lowered because now we're competting on a global market right ? We don't either have any reason to believe that companies will increase the amount of content produced enough to compensate losses because of price drops. Sure they'll increase but enough ?
2 - I'm guessing new jobs will be inventend, basically AI specialized community managers. Just like companies had started doing using Canva for graphic design but on a whole other scale. Why externalise the majority of the content they used to create (interviews, testimonials, product presentations or mini ads) if AI can edit, do motion graphics, mix audio and much more ?
3 - Aren't we all just going to transform into marketing agencies and not video production companies ? Is that what we want ?
Anyway, if AI creates a lot of unemployment in other fields, commercial work will suffer too. Why advertise to the unemployed ?
Sure there's money to be made, opportunities are exciting, but there are some important questions we need to ask ourselves. Only solution is Universal basic income in my eyes :)

Thank you for this insightful video. I used to work in the graphic design industry. I taught the first classes in video editing (10 frames per second, two40 x 1 80, no audio) and page layout programs, such as Quark Xpress. One of my clients was the LA Times. These were people who had been using traditional tools for years - T squares, drafting boards, X-Acto knives, ruby lith. They were very resistant to using a digital tool, and were concerned about being replaced. It was a difficult transition, but many of them made it. I am currently a filmmaker and I’m very excited about utilizing Sora for certain components in my films.

They kind of said the camera technology in mobile phones would end photography and video, especially when some film-makers used iPhone to create short films and feature length movies. It didn't kill off the still and motion image industry but mobile phones have changed it significantly. Now on the bright side the new developments of camera tech on phones meant more and more people were taking photos and videos. It also allowed some creators to start making videos for site like CZcams without having to buy or hire expensive equipment. So I suspect AI will be the same, it will have an effect on the industry, but it won't kill it off. For content creators the ability to create B-Roll they couldn't afford to produce under normal conditions will help to elevate their content. AI will be another tool and some will take it up and run with it, whilst others won't and will be left behind just like when new tech has arrived in to the industry in previous years. I have a bunch of short film scripts I've never been able to do anything with, and SORA got me thinking I could actually turn those printed pages in to an actual video.

I was a video editor for 15 years and suddenly everybody was a video editor via CZcams so I stopped even though my story telling skills are higher than a lot of the new editors who popped up I was still only going to be paid cheap editor fees because the industry was saturated, now at 54 years old I’m bustin into my savings to invest in pro hardware and software so I can create anything I can imagine with no limits to the power of my equipment, I want to make films and I’m going to be making films the traditional way because it’s just far more rewarding, I’ll familiarize myself with the A.I. video app because let’s face it, it’s an awesome toy/tool but my personal priority is to make some real movies in real rooms with real people. I’m open to getting in on whatever use the A.I. needs are for potential clients and with video editing, camera operator and 3 years studying classical animation in Europe I think this is the moment,… this is a big moment.

Since the Summer of ‘22 I’ve been trying to warn people -both in the industry as well as the teachers who will be tasked to teach creatives the way of this new world- that it’s coming. This guy gets it. It’s here already. He’s been here before. We all have. Is there still a business college anywhere that teaches shorthand to secretaries? Yet (for now) there are still plenty of ‘administrative assistants’ that are doing more than just make coffee. What we’ve all learned in our various trades over the years will still be needed -so long as we can learn how to use and deploy those old skills in totally new ways.

QUESTION: Don't you find it odd that, right as generative AI explodes on the scene, mainstream entertainment is the WORST it has ever been? The synchronicity of this is incredibly suspect. You are right though, the opportunity on the table for content creators is off the charts right now. Getting in on this early can be very lucrative. The larger system WANTS the world to go fully digital. Meaning, the system wants the majority in the AR/VR space with everything in their lives being digital, including their money. If this sounds great to you, then by all means, get in on this opportunity and be a part of the new digital age.
Many will choose to reject the digital, however. And this will create a different opportunity. Our very own Renaissance, where traditional methods of creation will be the goal. There will always be a market for it. Each individual will need to make that choice based on the future world they want to contribute to. Making this choice based solely on money may not be wise, but it will be how many decide. There will ALWAYS be more money on the table for the side the larger system is pushing humanity toward. That is AI and everything digital in this scenario.

Just early last year, I was being laughed at when I said this thing is going to develop QUICKLY, but this was around the time of those weird and quirky A.I. videos like Will Smith eating spaghetti or those weird A.I. pizza commercials. Now, here we are with Sora and a billionaire filmmaker put a 800 million dollar studio ON HOLD. How quickly will that 60 second prompt turn into this: "Feed your entire screenplay into the A.I. software and Whatever A.I. can create your entire film in less than 5 minutes" or "Writer's strike on your television show? No worries! Just feed Whatever A.I. the first few seasons from your television show, and Whatever A.I. will map out up to the next 5 seasons based on previous plot, character development, trajectory of story, based on past trends in the show, etc. No need to kowtow to whiny Writers, Actors, and Crew, anymore. The power of Whatever A.I. is in your hands"? Now, I'm sure there will be those who will laugh at this comment and tell me how ridiculous this sounds. What I think some don't understand yet is that its still in its infancy form and where its going is what the problem might be. Eventually it won't need anybody anymore to create anything except the end user. What I mean by that it might go towards down the path of where streaming websites or platforms like youtube allow you to describe or just know what you would enjoy to watch and create it on the spot. Your own unique content generated by your intrests and data. While this sounds really nice initally, I think its a dead end. Sharing art, admiring art made by humans, sharing experiences we watch together, talking about something other humans made is what we mostly enjoy but we aren't at the point yet of fully seeing this. I hope ai art will develop more into useful tools so the creatives can spend more time creating with their crafts rather then an ai creating things for the creative.

So many brides told me their friends went with a certain "photographer" to save money, and they got garbage...their wedding photos were terrible. That's one reason I stopped photographing years ago for weddings.

My thoughts are that any AI like this is just going to be a tool, rather than an end of all sort of thing. I agree with what you said about taking advantage of your skill set and utilizing it with AI, but I also believe there will still be a need for going on set and operating equipment, just because authenticity is still huge, so getting testimonials for example may not be done by AI. Maybe it could, but even then it still requires real people, and will require a storyteller to guide them on what to do for prompting the AI.
I can also see it being hybrid, where you can create drone shots if you don’t have a drones license, then use the shots you’ve actually filmed to mix into your video. Could be great for wedding videographers there.
Basically, it feels like the possibilities are endless, and this can open doors to new opportunities!

Yeah I was telling my cousin that the film industry is dead. It was already dying due to corporate takeover and “shareholders”, then the strike further killed it. but yeah… Videography is finished. Drone footage finished, product photography is finished. Commercials are pretty much finished. The best thing to do is to lean into stuff that needs real actual people like portrait for families or weddings. I’m excited because I have been a victim of nepotism and gatekeeping in the industry, it’s been really hard for me to get ahead, and stop being a production assistant. So I look forward to creating my first feature film with AI. I think the writing prompts are kind of weird, I’m not sure how effective that will be, especially if it doesn’t come out like how the story is in your head. But they’ll probably have tools where you can design your actors/characters (like the sims) and then basically build the world that they’ll be living and working and then maybe you import the script, and it plays it out. Maybe you can go and take real-world photos or videos of the location and then put it into AI and then you can use it in to world build. completely avoiding permits, or shutting down streets or businesses. I hope this is a moment for the true creatives and visionaries to shine.

@ about 11:30 - what most people miss when making their plans is 1) that none of your technical or storytelling skills are out of the purview of the increasingly larger and capable models. ALL of what creatives know - all of their specialized skills -is out on the internet as examples and actually educational material, and 2) EVERYONE, even EXPERTS, completely UNDERESTIMATE how rapidly this stuff is advancing. Today, you think, "Oh, good! AIs are not yet good storytellers, so we can build our business around that aspect." But just like SORA appeared nearly out of nowhere, the next AI with the equivalent of TENS of THOUSANDS of minds of ALL disciplines related to film creation will be embodied in the neural nets of these soon-to-be-realized next-gen AIs, and therefore, the once-thought elite skills will be available to anyone for $20/month or less.. I commend you, Saj, for at least trying, but you're underestimating the levels of abstractions future AIs will achieve and the shortness of time in which they will achieve and move beyond the best human-level technical and imaginative skills.

If this trends like a lot of things mid and small companies will do all of this themselves. So people need to look at their clientele and determine if their own business path and model is in jeopardy being offset by technology. Larger corporations may be slower to adopt mostly because of budget in managerial structure. But within a year and a half of proven track record track record they will pull in the resource internally and dedicate a team of one or two to the organizational marketing effort. And even their trainers will be offset by entry level creating online content for business training. There may be a senior manager overseeing it to ensure that the corporate message is not lost but the task of doing will be done by a lower level pay structure.

If not will it be easy for me, someone who never worked in the film making professions you mention, make an animated movie for just the cost of joining Sora? Is there an early way I can be able to use Sora? Why aren't they releasing Sora to the public? @@Filmmakingmentor For graphic design, it's proven that companies are already outsourcing entry-level work to generative AI (Midjourney V5.2 is only 1 year old). My field of Translation and subtitling has been decimated by Deepl and Capcut, no more job, zero. Of course, Scorsese or Disney will be fine but every film student is at greater risk of never ever working in this field if EVERYONE can achieve the same result with prompts. I would argue that it is camera phones that democratized content creation, but at the same time, 95% of the camera shops (in London) disappeared as a result. GPS on phones also killed the lucrative taxi business and created low-earning Uber and Deliveroo. I do love technology and both my kids are doing computer science at Uni (GAN to be precise), but the reality is that there will be fewer jobs and the alternative will pay less (maybe more factory and physical jobs, that's it). From Altman to Musk to Kurzweil, they all agree that AI will be highly disruptive to society as we know it.

What I've found with an AI music platform called Suno is that non-musicians don't generate the same level of results as musicians. That platform is more than the usual AI music generator in that it generates full pieces of music with lyrics and vocals in all sorts of genres, both popular and not so popular. Without knowing song structure or how to write good lyrics, results can be lame. And while Suno provides lyrics from Chat GPT and you can write your own with Chat GPT, they can be fairly weak.
My takeaway is that the eventual commercial level users will be musicians, not "everybody" or a corporate employee with no music background. I suspect it will be the same thing with film and video. The bottomline is that you MUST learn and use AI and ping off your existing knowledge. keeping you head in the sand or giving up is a bad idea. Stay open minded and adjust.

Great points, but let me take the opposite side of your argument and explain why Generative AI will not be a net positive for most people working in the media "production" industry. My experience was working as a pure-play cinematographer for 20+ years, working with agencies and larger commercial production companies. I went through the digital transition when the RED camera company forever changed the digital cinema camera landscape. It was clearly a disruptive technology that impacted KODAK but had little to no impact on DP's, their crews, producers or directors. In fact, it was mostly beneficial, and nobody's job was threatened.
I've seen countless changes in my time, but Generative AI is an entirely different kettle of fish, representing the first real existential threat to media production. For instance, how will the make-up and hair person keep their jobs? What about the grips, electrics, camera assistants, set decorators, props people, and especially production designers and PAs? They have zero transferable skills, and most will do something entirely different. What about the office staff, from production managers to assistant directors and coordinators? Soon, there will be no need for them either. What about all the meat puppets (bimbo talent, both men and women) that Generative AI replaces? All of these positions are gone.
Generative AI is unlike the small step moving from film to digital cameras, while the old timers kept their heads stuck in the sand, believing nothing would change. But you say I'm an independent production company that wears all the hats and hires the occasional freelancer. Generative AI will also lower the barrier to entry for anyone who wants to be a content creator. All they need to know how to do is type on two fingers.
Moving forward, large creative agencies, freelancers, crafts-persons, and independent production companies will struggle. Anyone who needs a corporate or commercial will eventually do it all in-house. These brands will only need a couple of account executives instead of half a dozen and one creative director. And anyone out there chasing clients without in-house marketing departments is not working for BRANDS, so you're likely working for peanuts already, so what does it matter anyway? You've got bigger problems.
In two years, the media landscape will be utterly unrecognizable from now. It's a sad ending, but I've made peace with it. I have been fully aware of the changes in the media production landscape over the past ten years, but this is the final nail in the coffin. I never wanted to evolve and wear three hats: shoot, edit, direct and produce. I lived well, making a high 6-digit income for years by having people bring me coffee while I pointed at what lights I wanted and where. I am a dinosaur and milked the good times as long as possible while I planned and executed my exit strategy. I decided to go out of business as I had no interest in hustling harder and longer for much less money.
So beware, kids, because generative AI will make finding work even more challenging. It's going to make it so that every Tom, Dick, and Hillary who wants to be a production company will be labelling themselves as a "boutique production consortium of talented filmmakers leveraging the power of Generative AI" or some bullshit like that on their homepage. Think hard about this: Will the juice still be worth the squeeze? Good luck, ya'll. I salute you.

Very informative, thank you for writing.
What do you think is the future of movies and series specifically? Do you think everyone will just be making content with AI, but there will be so much content that its value will decrease? Or content will be highly customized?

    • @BagHolder323
      @BagHolder323 Před 7 měsíci

@@turk-money I've always maintained, and I still do, that when you work at that calibre (and I did), it is an almost impenetrable walled garden as if the mafia ran it. The industry at this level is HIGHLY resistant to change for so many reasons; it would be another essay to explain why. People will keep their jobs, but the scale at which they produce will be drastically smaller, where a more significant portion of the production will be produced with AI-assisted technologies in combination with LED volume walls in studios.
However, ironically, post-production companies will take the biggest hit. Productions won't need to pay visual effects firms millions for CGI custom-generated assets anymore, as AI-generated content will be light years faster and cheaper. The last bastion to fall will be talent because I don't see them being replaced as they are unique and brands in and of themselves. So, think AI-generated imagery displayed on volume walls with highly paid talent in front of it. Scripts will be deliberately crafted and tailored so less of the production needs to be shot the traditional way.
So, I believe Generative AI will obliterate the small guys before it affects the big guys. Budget-conscious commercial productions are fickle and will move to whatever saves them a dime. They are not loyal to anyone and constantly scan for the next big thing. The larger drama-driven production community is vested in protecting one another and working together against change.

    • @turk-money
      @turk-money Před 7 měsíci

@@BagHolder323 Do you have any thoughts on how this will affect indie film making? I feel like one possible benefit of this is that, in five or ten years, indie film makers will not have to spend five years selling their movies for a budget of $5M because it's possible you'll be able to produce a feature film for $5k-$10k. Really with just generative AI and blue screens alone, a lot can be done. When you start to consider how advanced motion capture will be in five or ten years, the possibilities continue to expand.
Could this be the biggest thing for indie film making since the start of Sundance and the creation of the digital camera, maybe?

    • @BagHolder323
      @BagHolder323 Před 7 měsíci +1

@@turk-money This technology will be an absolute boon for Indie filmmakers because it will allow them to do anything they dream of for practically nothing. Their production values and acting talent will skyrocket exponentially. Green screen will be dead except for high-end productions with named talent.
Regarding making money, I think it will be as challenging as ever, if not harder than ever, to monetize going forward. Indie filmmaking will become further entrenched as a hobby. They'll be produced incredibly fast, and the sheer volume will drown out any chance of monetization. However, there will be exceptions, and the cream will rise to the top, as it does anywhere else in any other business.

The next disruptive tech could be a media company that asks the viewer simple questions. Genre, choice of plot structure, characters, unique elements, etc. Then a movie is instantly created.
