- Here's a nice option for a mini album spine that's made with cardstock, no chipboard required. Thanks for watching!

This spine makes this mini look like a treasure book... I am looking forward to seeing the videos for the inside... I was already mad about my envelopp punch board but I discover many more possibilities of playing with it !!! Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful day.
Oh, yes, it DOES look like a treasure book!! Very cool of you to notice that! And I totally agree, the EPB is lots of fun to play with. So happy you stopped by & took the time to write. I always enjoy hearing from you! :)
Great spine cover. The idea of putting packing tape on it to prevent splitting is brilliant. I would love to see the inside of the album. Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Mary
Hi, Mary! Oh, yeah, packing tape is a crafter's friend! LOL! Helps prevent all kinds of troubles without adding bulk! Thank you for your lovely comment. I've been making those minis (using an Envelope Punch Board) as gifts … will try to make one for myself & post a vid so you can see what the pages look like. :)
Oh, I like this spine because it is strong and has such a neatly finished look. Thanks! You are the bestest doer :-) Gloria PS-Please give SockMonkey a hug and a scratch behind the ears for me.

Hi, Steff! You're very welcome! So pleased you enjoyed this video! Yessss, packing tape is a crafter's best friend, I always say!! LOL! Thanks for watching & taking the time to write such a nice comment. I really appreciate it! Take care & have a fabulous day! :)
I am making a mini album that the paper on the edge of the binding cracked and I think this is perfect for covering that up, I may have to give it a try! Thanks!
+Shirley Barker Hi, Shirley! Grrr … cracked paper is so annoying! Instead of creating a whole spine assembly, perhaps adding a bit of trim or a punched border would help. Whatever you choose, I’m sure it’ll look fab. BTW, I love your Christmas mini … love the pockets & tags! And the sparkly magnetic closure looks great! :)
+papercrafter45 thanks!
Love this spine! Love how it curves and using the shipping tape is brilliant! I did one of those "Why didn't I think of that " moments when you were applying the shipping tape. LOL! I most certainly will be trying this. Will you be showing us the inside of the album...pretty please?
Hi, Susan! Thanks for stopping by … it's been so long! LOL! I'm really glad you thought the tape was a good idea. It offers flexibility without the bulk, which is cool. And -- since you asked so very nicely!! -- I will most certainly try to show the inside of the mini at some point! :)
Thanks for sharing this great technique! Would love to see you do a tutorial for the album. Thanks again!
Hi there! You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed this technique! Will try to show how the pages of the mini were constructed (super easy peasy) when I get a chance. Take care & have a great day! :)
Brilliant !
Not really … but thanks!! Feel free to copy & paste your comment on ALL my videos! LOL! :)
Well I had no idea how to do this, and this would have served me well if I had watched this video last week while I was trying to figure out how to create a binding for one of my husband’s books that I rebound. The book was bound originally as a “perfect binding”, yet some of the pages were falling out. I wanted to give the new binding an “older look” with a curved spine with head and foot bands. This would have served my needs, yet I managed to work something out by pressing a metal cylinder into the cardstock spine. Yet it was a pain in the @#&$#&^$..... I will use your approach next time, and teach it to my own students, thus the knowledge moves forward. Thanks again.
Great idea!,tfs
Hi there, Jenny! You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed this technique! :)
this is great now this is a pause play vid so i can make sure i get it right.....tfs
Hi, Cindy! Oh, cool … I'm happy to hear you'll be giving this style a go! Thanks so much for writing! Have a great day! :)
I'm hoping you are still following the comments on this video! How do I know if the pages of my album don't require to be directly adhered to a spine???
You're great as always.'is there a tutorial for the kind of page that goes with this? That would help me get a better idea on how to use this.
Thanks again.
I'm hoping you will get this, I love this tutorial and love this idea. would this work for the bind it all? was just wondering. Thank you and love all you ideas and tutorials.
Hi, Cynthia! Great to hear from you! I haven’t tried that type of binding, but I’m thinking it might work. Couldn’t say for sure, though. (Haha … not exactly a definitive answer!) That is what’s great about papercrafting - there’s usually always a workaround. So maybe give it a try. Take care & thanks for your very kind comments! :)
Such a very clever idea about the spine! Will this basicalyl fit a 6" x 6" album? That's what I usually make.
Hello, Judy! It's lovely to hear from you! The measurements in the tutorial are specifically for a mini that's 6-1/2" high. For a 6" album, the cardstock will need to be cut at 7" high, not 7-1/2" as shown in the video. :)
Thanks so much. I will definitely give it a try!
