    You're awesome, I knew it could be done though many said 👎. Thank you for the detailed video.

      @@meunsupervised7320 I'm finally ready to buy the items and see if I can get it to fly. I've got a single story, is the White Rogers thermostat required or simply just an Ecobee or other smart thermostat and transformer for a single story?

      Any thermostat will work! Smart or dumb! Smart thermostats just need external power and have more customizable control. Stories don't matter.

    My heating uses the G connection for the fan. Will this conflict with your setup?

    I have 2 pumps, a purge and a pad pump. Will this method work??

    Thanks it works great, now I have a question I want to control my furnace also with the ecobee, but the cables for the Furnace are R,C,W,G by any chance do you know how to connect both at the same time?

    • @meunsupervised7320
      @meunsupervised7320  Před rokem

      Yes, but a diode controller would need to be installed to prevent duplicate input power which could damage the white Rodgers controller or the furnace board. I simply installed two ecobee's and have them linked.

    What brand is your evaporative cooler? I have a Breezair and I want to understand if you have the same manufacturer?

    Will this accommodate both low and high fan speeds? You referenced high/low in your video but did not talk more about high low fan speed function. Great video BTW. Thanks!

      I set my thermostat to run on low under a 5° temperature variant and after 9pm until the desired temperature is reached. Anything over 5° the fan switches to high.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO
    I have tried to get White Rogers working and it was not !
    Although i might have another problem as I only have 1 pump wire coming from my cooler (240v cooler). At the time, I tried hooking it up to P1 or P2 and both did not work. I had a common from my heating system but not sure if your trick will make it work then.
    Do u have any idea how to deal with that situation of 1 pump wire only ??
    If i can connect to you on other social media that would be great too..
    Thanks again

      The cooler pump should go to P1 in your white rodgers box. W controls the pump on your thermostat. P2 should be your return to source. Though as there is no diode you might get away with wiring in either direction. Then again I have no clue without seeing your system. You may need to add a wire for P2.
      I'd test to see if P2 is energized after or even if the thermostat relay closes.
      You need a dedicated common to get this option to work. If you already have a common you can use that, but in most cases it should be isolated to protect your furnace. My understanding is you don't necessarily want one power source controlling two circuits.

    Maybe I missed it but can you use ALL the typical functions, like Hi/Low for blowing and most importantly for me, can you turn the waterpump off/ on, all from the thermostat??????

    • @meunsupervised7320
      @meunsupervised7320  Před rokem +1

      The thermostat works as usual. The white Rogers controller runs all of the needed functions. My low is set within 5° my high is anything over. The water pump automatically turns on 2-5 minutes prior to the fan depending on the white Rodgers controller model. Standard fan can also be used with no water.

    Welp.. this seems pretty convoluted and complicated. Probably won't be attempting this although it was a nice thought.

      Just hook up a 12v relay + to + and - to -. Wire everything else as usual.
