Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi's advent on earth is to highlight the spiritual attainment which is 'Sahaja Samadhi State' - Natural Abidance in the self. Attaining it and remaining in that natural state is what Bhagavan taught to Kavyakantha Ganapati Muni - Nayana.
Uma Sahasram to the Universal mother UMA, is in gratitude of this upadesam and Nayana composed this 1000 slokas in 20 days from Tuesday, November 26, 1907 to Sunday, December 15, 1907.
The audio recording of Uma Sahasram after a long protraction, got released the 300 slokas during Devi Navararti in October 2019 at Sri Ramanasramam, Tiruvannamalai.The next 400 slokas on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 the day and date Nayana started the work in 1907 and the final 300 slokas on Sunday, December 15, 2019 the day and date Nayana finished the work in 1907.
