    I don’t really like show type springers, the field ones look so much better

    I feel like in order to join in a competition like that, not only should the dog perfectly represent their breeds but they should be fit and not overweight.

    That lab and viszla are definitely overweight. Viszlas are naturally skinny and when at a healthy weight you should be able to slightly see their ribs. And any average person looking at the labrador retriever can tell the poor dog is overweight.

      It's absolutely no excuse or at all acceptable to over feed your dog. Irresponsible owners. However 1 in 4 labs don't have that hormone that tells them that they are full, so they will just eat and eat and eat

    @Crufts: (for the future) please don't use the winning dog as thumbnail.. it ruins the fun of watching if you already know who will win the group. (haven't researched if this has been true for the last few years but in 2018 it definitely was)

    • @wzukr
      @wzukr Před 6 lety

      Same is valid for their winner interviews uploaded at the same time as the groups judging.

    I'm getting a Korthals griffon in 3 weeks, I love the bearded gundogs. It was a toss up between the spinone, wirehaired vizsla and the griffon. Bit smaller than the spinone and no slobber lol, and I was told the vizslas are extremely hyper.

    WTF, the b.... is strangling the poor dog @ 11:20! And she´s not the only one.

    • @JBSouls
      @JBSouls Před 6 lety +2

      right.. so many of them :O maybe they should spend some time training their dogs to "jog" next to them without the need to strangle anyone (that's definitely possible!)

    • @Weirdanimalboy
      @Weirdanimalboy Před 6 lety +9

      She's stringing the dog up. It raises the dog's head up, and usually causes the dog to step higher with its front legs. Usually just makes the dog look stupid and strangled.

    • @dlwatib
      @dlwatib Před 6 lety +2

      I'm actually surprised at how many handlers did not "strangle" their dog. Usually it's a universal practice among handlers.

    • @shadominx3696
      @shadominx3696 Před 6 lety +3

      @@dlwatib I've never seen it like this. The handlers here in the states use choke chains for showing but they dont yank and pull like this to the point where the dog is being strangled. I know European handlers are much more rough on their dogs than American handlers. I remember why I dislike Crufts everytime I return to watch it. The obese dogs doesn't help. Some of these dogs look like they should've been petted out with the way their structure is alone. On too of that, most of these handlers are horrible at exhibiting them, half of them can't even get their dogs to gait properly.

    • @FITZIEBLUE
      @FITZIEBLUE Před 5 lety

      @@shadominx3696 have you not been following our State side shows? ...not only do they over 'show choke' , they shove treats into their faces to try and get the dogs to 'look alert'...no sign of that at Crufts..

    How dare breeds described based on inherent traits be judged based on nothing more than physical appearance. People get the dogs they deserve based on the traits breeders and buyers value.

  • @tinyurlCVHTELEGRAPH
    @tinyurlCVHTELEGRAPH Před 6 lety +1

    Such a cool group. There are so many European gundog breeds. Our fairly big Sporting group now feels smaller in comparison. xD My two top faves are the CCR & IWS (love all the curly ones!)...but I wish we had the Longhaired Pointer along with the wire & smooth, the Munsterlander, wirehaired Vizsla, Slovakian Rough-haired Pointer, etc.
    And that Brittany's blue roan+tan coloring is awesome! I had an orange/white one. Wish the blue were seen a bit more often though.
    Also, it's so strange to see all the undocked/cropped tails and ears throughout the show!

    • @dlwatib
      @dlwatib Před 6 lety +5

      I approve of the undocked look.
