I'm not used to seeing the female handlers/exhibitors wearing pants in Group competition, not to mention the men not wearing suits/ties (as they do in the U.S.) - probably everyone is more comfortable. It's nice that they're all wearing the green rosettes. Beautiful dogs! I've never seen a Munsterlander in person (or a German Longhaired Pointer); and I've only seen a Bracco Italiano once. Loved the Irish Setter, the Bracco Italiano, and the Welsh Springer, but they are all great dogs. I enjoyed the commentary (a bit more informative than what Americans get from the coverage of the Westminster dog show); though I wish they would have specified whether each dog is male or female. Thank you, Crufts, for posting these lovely videos.

+Bonnie Belle You have to realize that judging dogs across breeds is almost entirely subjective. Each breed has its own standard and they're all written using subjective and nonstandard terminology. There's no practical way to objectively quantify that one best of breed dog is closer to its standard than another best of breed dog which is being judged against a different standard. Each dog has already been judged best in breed, so at that level it come down to which animal the judge likes best and which breeder has the best reputation. The commentators talk about "performance" which is just another code word for judge's subjective preference based on perceived personality. It's also a small world, and each judge typically has bred a breed in that class for years and knows all the major breeders in their breed and class.
This judge liked setters and retrievers and did not like the spaniels. She only chose one spaniel for her final 8, and it was the least typical spaniel in the group. There were some truly marvelous spaniels so her choice was quite subjective.
