    Shame we’re across continents. Would absolutely enjoy seeing your work in person. Not to mention take a lesson from you given all the stuff you know! This car turned out great and it’s always fun watching you work.

    when you do the front m5 bumper conversion, do you need to replace the left and right lower bumper cover with the m5 cover? the right one its where the ambient temperature sensor is attached if you are curious of what Im talking about.

      Well, we use to sell and ship these ourselves. But the current situation put a stop to that. Try schmiedmann.com, they still ship.

    Any instructions on how to cut the bumper to fit the washer jets?

    • @TheMomusCollection
      @TheMomusCollection  Před 5 lety

      I do not have such instructions, however I would start with sizing up the needed opening, make a sketch on the bumper of the layout of the opening and proceed by drilling a pilot hole in the middle and start dremeling out from there.

    i want to ask you ?? what about front license plate ? what kind of frame you put on chinese buper?

    • @TheMomusCollection
      @TheMomusCollection  Před 5 lety

      I did not put a frame on! In my opinion the frame brakes the lines of this beautiful bumper, just use double sided tape to stick the plate on.

  • @farscope

    did you need any other parts to change the bumpers? or was it plug n play?

  • @ramiawad

    Hi Mate, did you manage to fit the front bumper aligned with the wings? mine is misaligned is like the bumper is 1cm shorter.

    • @TheMomusCollection
      @TheMomusCollection  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Rami, yes I did! As you can see in Ep.5, after a lot of fiddling it fits great. Usually the bumper is the correct size and will fit fine. The guides that the bumper slide on, are adjustable. Ask someone to join you and hold the bumper in place, and then you can adjust these guides until that gap is eliminated ;). Good luck!

  • @marioperez-kb2wl
    @marioperez-kb2wl Před 6 lety

    I can't find a decently price new front bumper cover, I know nothing is cheap on a BMW but a replacement shouldn't be that hard.

    • @TheMomusCollection
      @TheMomusCollection  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Mario, shoot me an email with your location and what you're looking for to see I could help out!

    • @marioperez-kb2wl
      @marioperez-kb2wl Před 6 lety

      so I am in North Carolina I got the bumper off but have not found a reasonably priced one with the headlight washer holes. One of the forums said many of them have a punch for them don't know if that is true can't tell from the pictures I have seen. Of course in the dismantling the hose for the washer on the driver side was so brittle it broke while taking it off. The next part is having to remove all of the insides of the bumper like the reinforcement bar, fog light bracket and so forth to use on the new bumper. I have tendency to break things trying to hard, I was hoping to use the old parts again.

    • @TheMomusCollection
      @TheMomusCollection  Před 6 lety

      Hi Mario! If you like, you can hold on a couple more days until we have our new website up and running, from which from then on you can order parts for your BMW (or any other). All the parts we used for our build will be up there! I will let you know when it goes live ;).

    • @marioperez-kb2wl
      @marioperez-kb2wl Před 6 lety

      I have the bumper off that was the easy part, taking the reinforcement bar off the cover that was hard. Of course, having an older BMW means parts can get brittle which they have. I have headlight washers the hose was so brittle it broke when I tried removing it from the bumper. The brackets and screws holding the bumper to the front forward fender cover were missing or broken so the project turned out to be more than I had bargained for. So the parts are lying on the gargae floor until I find replacements at a more reasonable price. But thanks for the video look forward to the website hope it fits my build.

    Don't understand this styleing changes. Car doesn't get faster with it and looses it's originality. So the e39 will be the next Honda civic. Or it is already.

      The car back then and even nowadays models do have the option of M packet extras which includes the front and rear M Technik bumpers. There is absolutely no issue with retrofitting those and if you do have them it will add optical value to the car. What you wrote was idiotic.
