The thing about words and phrases, is that they aren't just words and phrases. When they're directed toward someone in the same fashion as they were directed at Bill on this show, there's an ideal and a mindset behind the words that were spoken. Colton could've just called him trash, (anyone can be trash), but he didn't. He called him "ghetto" trash, which is a term often directed at minorities in order to demean them, and to remind them that they are not welcome in certain spaces in society. Couple what he said with the other comments he made, like "go kill yourself", and the remark about his black housekeeper... what kind of message does that convey? If you're honest, you would conclude that this man looks down on black people, which would make him a racist. If you don't believe that, look at the expression on Bill's face as he's being humiliated on National tv when they played it back at the reunion. Why did Colton even have to go there? I hated how they took the opinion of some celebrities in the audience at the reunion, who only excused this man's terrible behavior, by laughing it off. As a poc, I was mortified.
