The Paragon update + new class + the endless power creep made pretty much all non-equalized pvp unplayable for everyone but the top whales. I just do the bare minimum for the rewards and then peace out. The game is losing the fun factor very quickly, everything seems like a chore.
I've learnt a lot from you. But I feel like you have to change your build to adapt to the new changes. I've been using the new essences for PvP and I've been doing good in my server. Keep it going! Hugs from the distance!
Yeah this was my first BG after Tempest release, I wanted to see how my OG BG build faired against Tempest and have since been trying to test and adapt things to see what works best. Beam build was okay, but the damage output was wayyyy too weak when people approached and just instakilled me. I’ve been testing for weeks now. We have a few wizards on server that have gone from around 70-80% win rate to 50% since tempest launch/patch. 😭
This is a perfect example of how not to play as a wizard. Wiz has a role to play in bgs that is of backline cc class. Jumping into those 1v1 confrontations will never be fruitful because you have low damage and no immunity against high burst damage classes which will forever stun lock you. Primary attack builds are of no use against dhs and tempest since one can destroy in a second while other will stun lock for eternity. Even against barbs you cannot go with this build. Teleport is a must in most situations. Winning matters most, no point in going 4-8-6 when you go with 1-1-15+ assists in order to control the enemies on the idols. CC Wiz is a must even ice block wiz is a better option than this.
If you watch my previous BG/ROE/Vigil videos with this build you will see that it did work very well before the patch/Tempest. This was merely me testing to see if it still works. My damage output is pretty high which you can also see from my videos of Gauntlet. I’ve since swapped to beam build with good results which I will share later next week. 👍🏻
Looking at your playstyle, and desire to hop into fights, I would be interested in seeing how you would do with my Ice Block build as the damage over time from viper and Angmet can work, and you are immune to damage for 75% of the time. It handles higher res opponents excellently too.
I’ve been testing beam and burn build over the weekend and the results are pretty nice, especially with Grace, Angmets and Vipers. I’ll share the wails soon! 🖤
I was simply using it for the movement speed, vs using teleport that doesn’t give any damage at all. You know how much I loathe to use teleport in my builds. 🤣😭
Yeah I feel your pain! Currently ranked 1 on trial of the hordes so that’s fun but BG takes me back to reality quickly. And for the love of God when will they manage to create BALANCE? We know certain classes etc have roles so why not create matches with those roles balance ALONG with CR, rez and secondary stats?
The secondary stats I feel is the biggest issue right now. So many people Smurf so they get the lower reso matches but then you look at secondaries and it’s all 5k-6k on armour and armour pen. 😖 Eventually there will be fewer people bothering with BG, as this seems to be the case now anyway. I remember I would always match within 30 seconds, and now it’s generally 2-3 minutes. 🤣🤦🏻♀️

I feel you, i'm a wiz since day one, but when tempest arrived, i feel miserable being a wiz on PvP. Can't damange, can't cc, can't run, so freaking useless...LOL. And Wiz need rework on essence and eternal, they all mixed up and not single build can maximize it. Theres must be one essence that you need to sacrifice for even good built. Without PvP this game is pretty boring since you can actually single hit all PvE content. So my advise is change your class for time being to enjoy this game.

I like this kind of wizard battle play as supposed to the range or CC kind of play. Although there is no arguing that a range build is most effective, I dont like to run away for the purpose of avoiding the fight (But I am running if your a whale 😂). There are 5 melee classes in the game currently. Thats a lot of running away if I play the range build 😂. We need to adjust. Wizards in my opinion is still the most versatile class in the game. We can beam, battlemage, CC, AoE, Support. We just lack essences that help to offset our low defense. Hopefully we get a bunch of good essences next time around. On the upside. We still the hottest class in game. 😘😘

My theory is... Blizz does hear F2P -to- low/mid spenders with all the complaints about this n that, and also hears what top Ego'd whales say too. Sadly, it's those top whales that keep the game afloat for the most part, and that is who Blizz will listen & cater to the most. By no means am I a whale... far from it in fact, but I do understand the viewpoints of those who're willing to drop tens of thousands of dollars into the game that also have egos n such... they want to dominate those who can't reciprocate, and Blizz accommodates that for them. If the PvP became more truly evenly balanced to better appear the majority masses, then those high spenders would probably leave or just quit spending, and then in short time, the game will die off or just become stagnate without that influx of revenue pouring in. If PvP remains unfairly matched to where more n more just opting to not PvP (like you mentioned you're starting to do, as well as I have done the same), then those whales still wouldn't get their jollies off because they would have very little to dominate over. Basically, we all lose in one way or another thanks to greed. I have nothing against those who have the means & desire to spend in the game to whatever degree their hearts & wallets will allow... free will baby! And, I have met a few whales who seem to genuinely care about those who aren't whales and tries to lend a helping hand to them in various game events, build guidance, game play hints & strategies, etc. It's those with inflated egos, superiority complexes and all out rudeness towards those "beneath" them that I take issues with. Sorry for the rant of my beliefs of the overall situation with regards to present day PvP balancing.
GG Ricia With Wizard in BG I'm doing very well I'm a God with that Class I obviously use a different build plus with all tempest and mele players you can't play the same style as them... ❤
This is the build I’ve used for a long time in BG, and always with good results (90% of the time I would be MVP/top for kills) but with the patch and Tempest it completely changed this, and that’s exactly what I wanted to test. I’ve been working on builds ever since but BG definitely isn’t fun for me now.

Tempest will get nerfed eventually, or other classes will be given stronger essences to counter them. I doubt wizard will be given anything useful though, too many players moaned about this class last year and so Blizz kept nerfing it. 🙄

For me neither, but AoE CC and RoF wizzards are still pretty good; but as Tempest I can counter it being immune, untargetable... your first kill was GZ 💀💀💀LOL ElpeorDH and Persefone are from my server 🤣 they are better than me; All classes need a passive (monks evasion aura (the most OP passive in the game); Wizzards mana shield; Crusaders retribution law, Barbs CTA; Necros curses; Bks [something related to Lachdanan, open wounds and life leech])
As a Crusader, I would settle for an essense that turns CoL into an auto activated equal of undying rage. My shield doesn't even last half as long as that, and I have a metric ton of +beneficial effect duration. 🤷♂️
I’ve tried the CC builds previously and beam build but I’m just not that great with them. 😭 This was literally my first BG after the Tempest launch and patch update, so I wanted to see how my build faired against them but it definitely felt like a wiz nerf at the same time. This build was originally giving me crazy kills and I vary rarely died. 😬 Been testing ever since. 🥲
It’s worked for me for a really long time, that’s the reason I wanted to test in after the Tempest patch, back to the boring beam builds for now though. 🥺😭

Tempest will most definitely be nerfed in future updates. They did the same thing with BK in the beginning, then gradually nerfed it over a series of updates. Enjoy while you can. There are to many issues with BG that aren’t being addressed and probably never will be. Smurfing and no real system in place for balance make this area of the game pointless, unless you enjoy the frustration. I think it’s all intentional as a money grab to keep players in a constant “need to upgrade” mode.
Yeah the lack of balance is the worst right now. Smurfing is a huge issue and I see this more and more. I doubt they will do anything to truly fix it, as Blizzard will be more interested in keeping their biggest spenders happy, which I understand as if it wasn’t for people spending money, the game wouldn’t survive, but it takes away the fun for the players who are FTP or mid spend.

Question is why are you trying to play a dps wizard in bgs against tempest players and dh players? Dps wizards makes no sense, dps wizards for raids yes not for bgs, wizards are built for support and cc which is their strongest point, I've been using slow time tornado icy meteor on legend and dominating bgs, wizards isn't falling in bgs there's people who doesn't know when to play heroes for certain situations. your build will never work against dh and tempest in bgs, try playing defensive support cc build and see the difference.
You’re new here huh? 😅 Check the results from this build on my pre-tempest PVP videos. I’ve been MVP in ROE/Vigil/BG many times before the Tempest patch. I’ve swapped my build up now, but Tempest shouldn’t have been this crippling to other classes in BG.

Look at my other PvP videos… I always fight close combat and normally have no issues. This has changed with Tempest/patch. I’m not the only wiz facing problems since the update. 🙄
Diablo Immortal is a dying game.. every update just costs ludicrous amounts of money.. next update Friday will literally cost 50k+ as it's new reso wings for 10k, 12k etc.. I switched to D4 no pay 2 win and so much better overall.
First off, the first mistake was using spark in BG! Like seriously 😒. You and a lot of others may not remember but it was the same thing when BK first came out, it was highly OP & it took like six months before they really did anything about it & nerfed so I wouldn’t be surprised it’ll be the same with Tempest. I’ve been dealing with the same issues on my server w/ tempest in BG & it blows. Totally agree that they’ve done Monk dirty & tempest should’ve been a new build & essence for monk, obviously someone at Bliz hates monks more then they hate wizards. This is a good time for you to up your skills & play smarter, I’m constantly being matched against way higher level reso or secondary stat players & have to adapt. A new BG season just started on my server & it’s been murder, my win percentage dropped to 38% at one point but luckily I’ve been able to get it up to low 40’s for now, so yea totally get ya. But please don’t ever use spark again in BG that’s just crazy lol.
I was using Lightning Nova + Sprightspark vs using Teleport with no essences (due to having Ephemeral Visage helm and no other way of putting any essence on teleport), normally I use the Fire Nova but movement speed sucks and there’s no way of escaping quickly when using that. I swap between the two chest essences for PVP, and this build always gives me good results, which is why I wanted to test it after the patch. But I’m going to have to go back to being a support wiz and just teleport away from enemies at this point. I really hope they give wiz some useful essences in the next update, same with Monk who can literally only use support builds to succeed in PVP. 😪

If you want to enjoy pvp, come below 3k reso, if you are 3k reso or up, there is no limit, you will meet high and very high reso whale.

@TheOnlyRicia not new jus understand each class is domnant for a specific role tank dps support, so I guess you won't mind 8 dhs as defenders on one side and 8 crusders as attackers the other side, it shouldn't matter right?? 🤣💀

Has nothing to do with tempest. That only highlighted the shit show that is MM. BG has been dead a long time now.

Look at my other PvP videos… I always fight close combat and normally have no issues. This has changed with Tempest/patch. I’m not the only wiz facing problems since the update. 🙄
Diablo Immortal is a dying game.. every update just costs ludicrous amounts of money.. next update Friday will literally cost 50k+ as it's new reso wings for 10k, 12k etc.. I switched to D4 no pay 2 win and so much better overall.

They made i5 ,i6 essences big joke for wizard other classes has so op essences but wiz ones are kinda all trash
First off, the first mistake was using spark in BG! Like seriously 😒. You and a lot of others may not remember but it was the same thing when BK first came out, it was highly OP & it took like six months before they really did anything about it & nerfed so I wouldn’t be surprised it’ll be the same with Tempest. I’ve been dealing with the same issues on my server w/ tempest in BG & it blows. Totally agree that they’ve done Monk dirty & tempest should’ve been a new build & essence for monk, obviously someone at Bliz hates monks more then they hate wizards. This is a good time for you to up your skills & play smarter, I’m constantly being matched against way higher level reso or secondary stat players & have to adapt. A new BG season just started on my server & it’s been murder, my win percentage dropped to 38% at one point but luckily I’ve been able to get it up to low 40’s for now, so yea totally get ya. But please don’t ever use spark again in BG that’s just crazy lol.
I was using Lightning Nova + Sprightspark vs using Teleport with no essences (due to having Ephemeral Visage helm and no other way of putting any essence on teleport), normally I use the Fire Nova but movement speed sucks and there’s no way of escaping quickly when using that. I swap between the two chest essences for PVP, and this build always gives me good results, which is why I wanted to test it after the patch. But I’m going to have to go back to being a support wiz and just teleport away from enemies at this point. I really hope they give wiz some useful essences in the next update, same with Monk who can literally only use support builds to succeed in PVP. 😪
