  • Well my year long project has gone quicker that I imagined. in the current lockdown I have had more time to stitch than usual. So this is the last video for this project but I am planning another one starting at the end of the month.
This one covers adding text and my finished hanging on a bobbin.
Thank you for taking part and I would love to see your work.

Thank you! I’ve really enjoyed a whole afternoon in July 2024 watching this series of videos whilst I finished off my own slow sewing project!! During breaks from my sewing, I’ve cut out the backing and found a bobbin…. this is a great project for my list of things to do for fun! It has also been a huge reminder of how tough 2020 was for all of us, something I don’t think we should forget. ❤

Just starting to watch you and your work. You've inspired me to start my own project. I've never hand sewn, nor have I ever embroidery. This will be quite a challenge for me. I like the step by method. Thank you my dear for your inspiration. Keep sharing. For me the pandemic has been a blessing.

I have loved watching how your piece evolved over time and it has given me some great inspiration and motivation. I haven't sewn for a while so I'm keen to get started. I've even sorted out my fabric stash and all my buttons :) Thank you so much xx

Thank you so much for this project! It has been a wonderful "mindful" pastime, calming and peaceful. I am very much a beginner at slow stitching (haven't really done any embroidery for nearly 50 years), so my piece is far from finished. Your piece is lovely and inspirational - I may not add all the embellishments you have, but I am going to try most of them. Hugs and Love from California

Would you be kind enough to write the name of that dye wheel you have? I couldn't understand you when you said the name of it. Also, I guess I'm an even slower stitcher since I'm not even close to being done. Since you set this as a goal for the year, would you accept a photo of my work sometime before the end of the year but certainly not anytime soon. Loving your videos! The back of your work almost has a trapunto look to it and I love it in that odd accidental way.

She is a seamstress but doesn’t do hand work like this. But she actually liked mine for the first time ever. She usually isn’t interested in my mixed media or anything lose I do but she enjoyed this and loved yours as well as others. I showed her the videos of the community. Thanks again and can’t wait for the new project to start as well. Hope this finds you and yours well. Have a great weekend.
