- I saw my new PCP/NP yesterday to get care established for the first time in a while. She ordered some tests and they came back with some mixed news:
My kidneys are still doing better so that's good.
BUT my cholesterol is up and I'm .1 on my A1C from being diabetic. YAY.
I'm waiting on a referral to a dietician to get more information on how to put together a kidney/diabetic-friendly diet.
Here's my wishlist with the a couple of Charge trackers (Charge 2 and Charge 3) on it if you're interested in helping me out:

If you need zero sugar drinks that are good let me recommend Zevia, it helped me get off sugar. Another thing that helped with the sugar is cutting out bread. Have you looked into the Ketogenic diet? I'm not sure if it's the one for you, but it might be something to look into, as well as intermittent fasting. Just be glad it was caught early on, you can kick it's ass, don't freak out.
I drink a lot of water and iced tea (unsweetened) so my drinks aren't really a problem other than a little sweetened creamer in my coffee in the morning. I need to focus more, I think, on lowering my carb intake. I think that will help with the sugars and the weightloss. Also, getting off my butt more and being more active will help. Someone is going to loan me a Fitbit Charge that she doesn't use for a while so I can be more accountable to my activity levels.
Your kidney is really better but wonderful, we should get rid of these cholesterols and diabetes it seems really bad.
That's the goal. Just gotta find a diet that is kidney and diabetic friendly. And I need to lose about 10 pounds or more.
