@@zirilan3398 My theory why it takes so long is that the people who only know to play their class at lvl 50 (i.e. 1-2-3 during CT) now have to actually press more than 3 buttons to play their class, thus leading to significantly lower dps.

While the Allience Roulette change is nice, I think people need to reel in their expectations since Crystal Tower is still the only raid required for MSQ, so it will still be unlocked by more people and appear more frequently then the others.

Free trial legends would not only have to be excellent raiders, but also have to gather and craft all of their food and pots themselves because of the market board restriction. Looking forward to seeing people try that.

6:51 This is technically not from FF14, but all he said was that it might be familiar to fight on that floor, and the square tiles are identical to what the final area of Lunar Subterrane in Final Fantasy 4 looks like (OBVIOUSLY, since we talking Endwalker and Zeromus here), but the square tiles are kind of an iconic battleground for the final area (Lunar Subterrane final sections) of FF4.
I know they were talking about the Lunar Subterrain, but the square grids also always remind me of the floor patterns for the original World of Darkness, so that ended up being my first thought 😅

All the newer fights that pull bosses from other games have been pretty different compared to before, but then I think about O4S and O8S and how perfectly they encapsulated the visuals from those games' final fights and I have to wonder whether they'll try to distance from that yet again or if they'll get to Zeromus's True Form and pull out all the stops on those visuals

I'm SUPER excited they're actually doing allied tribal quests. they're probably my favorite bit of side content in the game. My sincere hope is that they somehow incorporate the Shadowbringers tribes as well, at least a nod to them anyway- like happened with the beginning of the EW Hildibrand quests. I sorely missed allied tribes in Shadowbringers.
I hope the alliance tribal quests end with a surprise trial to finally defeat the masked guy once and for all. He will sure return and this time he will try to bring the end of everything including beasts. Please make us defeat him as it should be :)
Ngl. I was really hoping the variant dungeon was Dalmasca related. Could have been a neat way of tying the knot on those stories that they never got to conclude with bozja.
the ilvl change to alliance roulette was a long time coming, as a new player it was weird to see that roulette didn't have it when i had to progress the story to even do expert roulette due to ilvl and duty unlock restrictions. As you also mentioned it's still quite weird that most story dungeons have ilvl sync but important story trials don't. I'm fine with something like NieR or Ivalice raids being able to skip a bit of the bosses if your dps is high enough, but a story trial should still be mainly for the MSQ experience just like a ilvl capped dungeon...
as a casual that only barely delved into extremes when current, seeing your guide on thordan ex didn't really frighten me that much. Sure, it will likely hit VERY hard with min ilvl and such, but the mechanics are all pretty normal nowadays so I'm excited to try it and come back to unreal and try to make some gil over the longer patch time!

I queue with a friend into nier/ivalice for fun, and to upset the duty finder players that forget to exploit the system. It gets a lot more positive reaction in alliance chat because I think 90% of players are bored of the CT raids. This is the best change for the game, no more syrcus tower spam! Now we just gotta get them to implement min ilvl, or adjust the boss hp to actually need to do mechanics again. 😊
@marcus1800 As I said, only 1/2 per alliance complain, and they generally just take the 30min penalty. I've been doing it for a long time, too. The majority of players want variation, not the same 2 raids. I'm also pushing for them to buff the older ones to make them last about the same amount of time whilst also reviving those fight mechanics. When was the last time anyone used the shield in the scylla fight in syrcus tower? The energy towers in king behemoth? Alliance raids are in dire need of help, and it's great they are finally getting some attention. Side note. I don't just queue for them to troll people, though that is a part of it. I queue for content that I enjoy. That just happens to pull 22 players out of the DF queue into ivalice or nier.
@marcus1800 I disagree with 2 playlists. Right now, are you even playing the game? Myself and many others that I've spoken to feel that the old content becomes boring because the mechanics cease to exist. It's not "harder", it's how the content is intended. 🙂

Patch x.55 usually is released with the Japan fan fest and the full-length trailer (remember, the trailer released this time was simply a "teaser"). Or close to it.
I love that the team made Felicitous Favors for island sanctuaries. Like any other developer probably would have made this to replace the current system to make sure people weren’t just going on the discord to look up the recommended items to ship for the week. Instead we still get to do that, but we get this new system to make things feel fresh.
Would have preferred if they reworked the currencies to make handicrafts more optional to get materia while letting you get the glam, emotes and other goodies by actively harvesting resources and crafting items yourself to turn-in instead of the annoying spreadsheet simulator the whole thing is right now. I would be a lot more incentivized to spend time on the island if I could get things done while present instead of the weekly set & forget factories they made.
@@trawll8659 Fully agree. This idea of "go figure out your own spreadsheet!" is nice and all, but... I'm still just filling out a spreadsheet myself once a week. It's still not active or interesting. They're adding these new gathering areas but you really only spend like... half an hour there before it's better to just send your Granary mammets there and stop manually gathering again. More active elements would be really nice; I've basically given up on my island at this point because of the lack of it.
Also for the lunar Subterrane i hope and wish the final boss will be Geryon the superboss from Ff4 a combination of all Fiends.. it would be awesome to make them go like that. :3
I don't see a lot of comments on this but am I the only one disappointed with the all extreme mount's mount? if they wanted to make an homage to bahamut that's good n all but I was expecting a badass cat to go with the theme, specially since you only have a "super extreme mount" once per expansion and the dragon could be from somewhere else on shadowbringers when I heard people didn't like the mecha-dragon as much it was still fitting at least... well nowadays you just gotta thank that it wasn't a mogstation mount I guess :p
That specific design of Bahamut was the king of the moon where we fought Golbez and Zeromus, so it fits as an end cap to the FFIV trial series even if it doesn’t suit the lynxes themselves.
@@Dazuro that excuse makes it better as msq reward then as i said there's only one super mount per expansion, why break the theme that was consistent since arr? idc about previous ff's as inspo for the story since its only inspiration and we had many other ff inspirations (and a lot of people don't even know the old references anyways), still doesn't fit
I figured the very similar appearance to something else in Lunar Subterranean was referencing the Lunar Subterranean in FFIV because it looks a LOT like that. They did a great job of capturing the look of the trek towards Zemus/Zeromus.

Not going lie little disappointed at the trials mount. Mount itself looks great but should stuck with the theme. Was hoping for Leucrotta mount or something similar.
the platforms in the lunar subterrane kind of look similar to the platforms from cloud of darkness in eden, and also mixed in with a little palace of the dead's higher floors
You didn’t mention this but when they were talking about the dungeon they said said it would include a major scenery transition that would be a spoiler to show.
I'm so glad it's based on level now. I absolutely hate only ever getting Crystal Tower because people take off their gear. You will already get it more than other Ally Raids just because everyone has to unlock it and it has the lowest level, doesn't need the people forcing you into it because it saves a couple minutes. Orbonne and the Nier raids are lovely, and I want more of them!
the a-raid change is great, but there are still people around who didnt unlock the higher raids and there are many people who go in there with their lower jobs... so ct will still be seen a lot. making the other raids mandatory (for the roulette) for lvl 60+ jobs would be the next step. they would also need to adjust the roulette bonus for longer raids and also making the ilvl synch in lower raids more strict, to motivate people on both sides at least a little bit. to make it more fun for everybody
These changes will only do 1 thing, increase the queue times, because people that changed their ilvl to get the most efficient raids, will just no longer do it. Also you can allways just set up a free trial account, only unlock CT, invite your main, and then immidiatly drop so that character never gets XP
@@MBunn-uf1we people need to find ways around their system since getting the CC raids vs anything else can mean the difference of 15-30 minutes, sure you can say "well, if you don't got the time then don't queue for it" but that's an insanely lazy way of going about it, if you've done those AR's 50+ times, they won't be fun, the reward vs investment isn't worth it, simple as that. why spend 30-45 minutes doing the HW, SB, SHB, EW alliance raids when you can cheese your ilvl and get guaranteed ARR alliance raid and be done in 15 minutes. sure it'll mean that the queue times for those 4 expansions go up by quite a bit (getting the last nier raid for glamour took atleast 50 minutes to pop for example) but i can understand why people don't go for those AR's since they take much longer, even if nobody messes up, it's the same with everything in your life, if you can choose between doing something for 40 minutes and doing something for 10 minutes for the exact same result, you would 100% of the time choose the 10 minute path, your time is valuable and they're obviously not compensating us enough for us to even want to do the longer AR's. this will have an opposite effect instead where people will be deterred to even queue up and just opt to ignore that on their daily grinds.

No matter if you do CT or Nier, the rewards are all the same, difference is Nier takes at least twice as long, so why would anyone waste their time for the same outcome. I know this runs counterintuive to what these roulettes are supposed to be, a mechanic to make sure people can get into older content easier but as long as SE doesn't give a incentive to actually spend the extra time for later runs, there will allways be people that want to make sure the get the most efficient outcome. I read many times that SE should just give rewards based on which dungeon you get, and while i believe that will be the only change that can have any effect, it will most likely have a similar, opposite effect. Let's say they double the amount of rewards for gettting Nier/Ivalice and make it be the best for efficiency. Now you will have people that will just abort the dungeon if it's not Nier/Ivalice, like people diid with the old MSQ roulette, where people aborted if they didn't get Praetorium. And the amount of time needed to create that LV50 cheese alt will quickly be made up by all the time saved by not having to do anything but LotA/Syrcus.
I've been away from the game for a bit and haven't watched any of your vids in a while - I gotta say the weight loss looks GREAT on you man! Not sure if you are specifically working on it but you look better than ever dude.
(There's a sumarry at the bottom if you don't want to read all this) For the Lunar Subterrane I think it's going to be inside the 13th moon. Because, like you said, it has the red fog and rock. Now, the reason why is because the architecture of the platforms is like what we saw in Golbez's lair. Also, the moon of the source is filled with lots of structures and houses inside it (We know that because of smileton.) And since the moon of the 13th is largely a reflection of the sources moon. And so the platforms most likely serve a similar purpose. But there are some problems with this theory. First of all the source has 2 moons. The first one was a man-made prison for Bahamut. And the second was created by Hydaelyn to serve as an escape for the people of the source. So if this is true then that means Hydaelyn made a copy of the sources moon for all of the shards. Which the loporrits said isn't true. The lunar subterrane takes place inside the 13th moon because of the red fog and rocks, the architecture resembling golbez's lair, and the moon largely being a reflection of the sources moon, which has an underground facility inside it.
Finally, i'm excited to actually get to do something other than crystal tower, ive unlocked all the alliance raids up to shadowbringers and ive literally never gotten anything but crystal tower in the roulette, i genuinely hate them at this point, literally the thing i hate most about this game at this point
I wish they'd just introduce an ilvl sync for alliance raids. Make it ilvl 70 for Labyrinth, ilvl 100 for Syrcus, and keep it at 130 for WoD. I don't actually remember what the respective ilvl caps were at the time, but those should be it based on the way gear progression works nowadays. That way people would actually have to respect labyrinth to some degree, and as a result, wouldn't try to cheese into it nearly as much. (Also who actually remembers how labyrinth mechanics work... that would be a hilarious wake-up call)
Did the Crystal Tower raids with full min ilvl alliances a few months back, and I actually found it fun to do. Scylla wiped us so much cause we never knew the mechanics, but was great to see all the mechanics we miss cause we blow past them.
NGL it's weird seeing the Crystarium, and weirder seeing Zero there. I am VERY curious what in the heck they do with this when it comes to the Role/Void Quests.
I can’t wait to see Zero and Ryne interact. Ryne is all “I know how to talk to goth girls, this will be easy” and says something perky to elicit a groan/sigh/some reaction. But Zero just doesn’t react, or takes her at face value. It writes itself.
I don't do many extreme trials, but Thordan does come up in mentor roulette occasionally and it isn't that bad once people understand what they're supposed to do. The currently hardest EX in the game imo is Seat of Sacrifice. It's the only EX trial that I needed to use waymarks, and a group discord call, while unsync, just to get the completion
im so happy about this. I'd take a legitimately engaging and mechanically interesting raid over a CT raid any day of the week. I happen to actually enjoy playing the game lmao.
As much as I like the idea, I wish there was like a selection of raids you can choose which raids you can get randomly from at least 2 groups of raids. I wish to skip sky pirates, but play the rest. It is the only group of raids one I dread having to do when lvling my jobs.
I am all for that idea but would expand it to like 5 duties total that you exclude from your roulettes. A friend of mine for example never does Alli-roulette out of fear to get Void Arc cause the Morbol-model triggers a panic attack in her. And I could remove Rathalos Ex, Levi Ex and Ramuh Ex from my Mentor roulette

As someone who just plays pvp via the front line roulette but wants to get in it because the mount / glamour / rewards, im tempted to try the other modes but honestly, ranked mode scares me lol
I'd like to compromise a bit on the raid roulettes. Don't allow ilvl cheesing, but set up a rotating cycle of a subset of raids on any given day. That way if there's one I really don't want to risk getting into, I can just not queue that day if it's in the potential list for alliance roulette.
So what, people who want to do the ivalice raids (which are required to access bozja) just get fucked on days when the ivalice raids aren't in the roulette? Or hell, people doing CT for MSQ just get fucked if CT isn't the roulette on certain days? All so that you can breathe a sigh of relief and queue on days where nier isn't in the rotation? I think people like you forget that roulettes aren't there for you to get easy exp/tomes. They're there to fill content for people that queue for it, and the tomes/exp are just carrots to get bodies to fill.
Wish yoshi would put the old armor’s from the old pvp series like the archfiend armor somewhere in the game to make it obtainable for those who miss out on that season.
I think people are underestimating how much you'll still get CT. Like seriously the problem isn't ILVL cheese, its leveling characters. Its people who didn't unlock the other alliance raids. Like I know two 90 players who haven't unlocked Nier because its a huge time sink in cutscenes and they get distracted.
Ivalice is still required for Bozja. ilvl cheese is a big problem when it comes to alliance roulette. Obviously CT won't go away completely but I doubt they'd be doing this if it would make next to no change. Obviously it's a big enough problem that they're doing something about it because if it wasn't a big problem like you claim, they'd leave it alone.

If they really want to save Alliance raid/roulette they need to increase the XP amount for the ones that take longer than 10-15 minutes, don't do that and people will just quit when they see what they get or not que at all.
The blocks and platforms in the lunar subterrane are straight from one of the last dungeons in FFIV when you go to fight Zeromus if memory serves. The dungeon had very distinct flooring. Although I always took the flooring to be square bits of glass whereas in FFXIV it looks more like granite. Maybe inside every moon in every reflection there exists some dungeon or facility with the same basic structure and layout but slightly different? FFIV was my first FF game wayyyyyy back. It started my journey so I am super excited. Chose Paladin as my main because of Cecil. Can't wait.

instead, they'll just stop doing the alliance roulette and it will mean that the ARR alliance roulettes (the only ones required for MSQ btw) will take longer aswell. on top that you'll still see a massive amount of ARR AR's since some people REFUSE to unlock the other alliance raids, like my alt, the only alliance raids it got unlocked is obviously the crystal tower series, i don't like the HWs AR's and every except orbonne in SB suck, i like the nier raids, but don't need to go through them anymore on my alt as i've done them day 1. also many use this to level their jobs, so you'll have a lot of people that uses lvl 50 jobs.

@@DarkDyllon You can tell how many people do the iLevel cheese in any given instance by watching their health jump up, and it's not a lot overall, so I don't think the population of people queueing is gonna get that much smaller. Frankly, good riddance -- what they were doing was selfish and unfair to everyone else in the roulette. Also, Ridorana is amazing, in my opinion, and the HW ones are well designed, but the problem, IMO, is that jobs at that level are boring and stat scaling makes the damage and stuff feel undertuned.
During my tome farming phase I got LotA, WoD and Aglaia in equal measure, no other raids. And I'm glad for Aglaia actually as that one runs pretty smoothly these days and gives extra tomes. Not looking forward to getting the NieR ones though. Have to see how this plays out, if I deem it too tedious I'll just stop doing ally roulettes on high level jobs.
Having things fit in the armoire is nice and all, but anyone who wants to keep dye on them is still going to end up putting them in the glam dresser anyway.

I prefer mid jan. December releases always put so much pressure on raiders and stressed them during a holiday period. Like sure, you gwt leave days but sometimes its nice to soend that with RL so you dont burn out in game
@@kylemccready5081 I wasn't clear enough: if you do the same tribe every day (3 quests, or 6 when you get to a new rank) for 30 days, you will complete that one tribe.

I have all jobs on 90, I like doing the Nier-raids but they really need to up the rewards for how long they take. Same thing with the StB-Alli-Raids.

Yeah, CT will still probably be the most frequent raid series in the roulette even without the ilvl cheese. But still, any fix is better than no fix.

That dragon is the original FF3 Bahamut summon, it even looks like the pixel art in game.
The platforms are familiar because they look like the floor in the later parts of the final dungeon in FF4.

My sincere hope is that they somehow incorporate the Shadowbringers tribes as well, at least a nod to them anyway- like happened with the beginning of the EW Hildibrand quests. I sorely missed allied tribes in Shadowbringers.
I hope the alliance tribal quests end with a surprise trial to finally defeat the masked guy once and for all. He will sure return and this time he will try to bring the end of everything including beasts. Please make us defeat him as it should be :)
Ngl. I was really hoping the variant dungeon was Dalmasca related. Could have been a neat way of tying the knot on those stories that they never got to conclude with bozja.

the ilvl change to alliance roulette was a long time coming, as a new player it was weird to see that roulette didn't have it when i had to progress the story to even do expert roulette due to ilvl and duty unlock restrictions. As you also mentioned it's still quite weird that most story dungeons have ilvl sync but important story trials don't. I'm fine with something like NieR or Ivalice raids being able to skip a bit of the bosses if your dps is high enough, but a story trial should still be mainly for the MSQ experience just like a ilvl capped dungeon...
That's totally the Bahamut from FF4 which makes sense regarding all the 4 fan service in this expansion.

as a casual that only barely delved into extremes when current, seeing your guide on thordan ex didn't really frighten me that much. Sure, it will likely hit VERY hard with min ilvl and such, but the mechanics are all pretty normal nowadays so I'm excited to try it and come back to unreal and try to make some gil over the longer patch time!

I queue with a friend into nier/ivalice for fun, and to upset the duty finder players that forget to exploit the system. It gets a lot more positive reaction in alliance chat because I think 90% of players are bored of the CT raids. This is the best change for the game, no more syrcus tower spam!
Now we just gotta get them to implement min ilvl, or adjust the boss hp to actually need to do mechanics again. 😊

@marcus1800 As I said, only 1/2 per alliance complain, and they generally just take the 30min penalty. I've been doing it for a long time, too. The majority of players want variation, not the same 2 raids. I'm also pushing for them to buff the older ones to make them last about the same amount of time whilst also reviving those fight mechanics. When was the last time anyone used the shield in the scylla fight in syrcus tower? The energy towers in king behemoth? Alliance raids are in dire need of help, and it's great they are finally getting some attention.
Side note. I don't just queue for them to troll people, though that is a part of it. I queue for content that I enjoy. That just happens to pull 22 players out of the DF queue into ivalice or nier.

Patch x.55 usually is released with the Japan fan fest and the full-length trailer (remember, the trailer released this time was simply a "teaser"). Or close to it.

I love that the team made Felicitous Favors for island sanctuaries. Like any other developer probably would have made this to replace the current system to make sure people weren’t just going on the discord to look up the recommended items to ship for the week. Instead we still get to do that, but we get this new system to make things feel fresh.
It still probably gonna be a serverwide recommendation just as how market works for Island sanctuary
Would have preferred if they reworked the currencies to make handicrafts more optional to get materia while letting you get the glam, emotes and other goodies by actively harvesting resources and crafting items yourself to turn-in instead of the annoying spreadsheet simulator the whole thing is right now. I would be a lot more incentivized to spend time on the island if I could get things done while present instead of the weekly set & forget factories they made.
@@trawll8659 Fully agree. This idea of "go figure out your own spreadsheet!" is nice and all, but... I'm still just filling out a spreadsheet myself once a week. It's still not active or interesting. They're adding these new gathering areas but you really only spend like... half an hour there before it's better to just send your Granary mammets there and stop manually gathering again.
More active elements would be really nice; I've basically given up on my island at this point because of the lack of it.
Also for the lunar Subterrane i hope and wish the final boss will be Geryon the superboss from Ff4 a combination of all Fiends.. it would be awesome to make them go like that. :3
Not sure how possible that'll be. Half the Fiends are straight up dead and returned to the Lifestream on the Source, and the other half are crystals.

if they wanted to make an homage to bahamut that's good n all but I was expecting a badass cat to go with the theme, specially since you only have a "super extreme mount" once per expansion and the dragon could be from somewhere else
on shadowbringers when I heard people didn't like the mecha-dragon as much it was still fitting at least... well nowadays you just gotta thank that it wasn't a mogstation mount I guess :p
That specific design of Bahamut was the king of the moon where we fought Golbez and Zeromus, so it fits as an end cap to the FFIV trial series even if it doesn’t suit the lynxes themselves.

I figured the very similar appearance to something else in Lunar Subterranean was referencing the Lunar Subterranean in FFIV because it looks a LOT like that. They did a great job of capturing the look of the trek towards Zemus/Zeromus.

Not going lie little disappointed at the trials mount. Mount itself looks great but should stuck with the theme. Was hoping for Leucrotta mount or something similar.

I'm so glad it's based on level now. I absolutely hate only ever getting Crystal Tower because people take off their gear. You will already get it more than other Ally Raids just because everyone has to unlock it and it has the lowest level, doesn't need the people forcing you into it because it saves a couple minutes.
Orbonne and the Nier raids are lovely, and I want more of them!
the a-raid change is great, but there are still people around who didnt unlock the higher raids and there are many people who go in there with their lower jobs... so ct will still be seen a lot. making the other raids mandatory (for the roulette) for lvl 60+ jobs would be the next step.
they would also need to adjust the roulette bonus for longer raids and also making the ilvl synch in lower raids more strict, to motivate people on both sides at least a little bit. to make it more fun for everybody
These changes will only do 1 thing, increase the queue times, because people that changed their ilvl to get the most efficient raids, will just no longer do it.
Also you can allways just set up a free trial account, only unlock CT, invite your main, and then immidiatly drop so that character never gets XP

@@MBunn-uf1we people need to find ways around their system since getting the CC raids vs anything else can mean the difference of 15-30 minutes, sure you can say "well, if you don't got the time then don't queue for it" but that's an insanely lazy way of going about it, if you've done those AR's 50+ times, they won't be fun, the reward vs investment isn't worth it, simple as that.
why spend 30-45 minutes doing the HW, SB, SHB, EW alliance raids when you can cheese your ilvl and get guaranteed ARR alliance raid and be done in 15 minutes.
sure it'll mean that the queue times for those 4 expansions go up by quite a bit (getting the last nier raid for glamour took atleast 50 minutes to pop for example)
but i can understand why people don't go for those AR's since they take much longer, even if nobody messes up, it's the same with everything in your life, if you can choose between doing something for 40 minutes and doing something for 10 minutes for the exact same result, you would 100% of the time choose the 10 minute path, your time is valuable and they're obviously not compensating us enough for us to even want to do the longer AR's.
this will have an opposite effect instead where people will be deterred to even queue up and just opt to ignore that on their daily grinds.

I know this runs counterintuive to what these roulettes are supposed to be, a mechanic to make sure people can get into older content easier but as long as SE doesn't give a incentive to actually spend the extra time for later runs, there will allways be people that want to make sure the get the most efficient outcome.
I read many times that SE should just give rewards based on which dungeon you get, and while i believe that will be the only change that can have any effect, it will most likely have a similar, opposite effect.
Let's say they double the amount of rewards for gettting Nier/Ivalice and make it be the best for efficiency. Now you will have people that will just abort the dungeon if it's not Nier/Ivalice, like people diid with the old MSQ roulette, where people aborted if they didn't get Praetorium.
And the amount of time needed to create that LV50 cheese alt will quickly be made up by all the time saved by not having to do anything but LotA/Syrcus.

I've been away from the game for a bit and haven't watched any of your vids in a while - I gotta say the weight loss looks GREAT on you man! Not sure if you are specifically working on it but you look better than ever dude.

For the Lunar Subterrane I think it's going to be inside the 13th moon. Because, like you said, it has the red fog and rock. Now, the reason why is because the architecture of the platforms is like what we saw in Golbez's lair. Also, the moon of the source is filled with lots of structures and houses inside it (We know that because of smileton.) And since the moon of the 13th is largely a reflection of the sources moon. And so the platforms most likely serve a similar purpose. But there are some problems with this theory. First of all the source has 2 moons. The first one was a man-made prison for Bahamut. And the second was created by Hydaelyn to serve as an escape for the people of the source. So if this is true then that means Hydaelyn made a copy of the sources moon for all of the shards. Which the loporrits said isn't true.
The lunar subterrane takes place inside the 13th moon because of the red fog and rocks, the architecture resembling golbez's lair, and the moon largely being a reflection of the sources moon, which has an underground facility inside it.
I guess with the Dungeon they want to imply it might be on the 1st...possibly to open a Portal for all the Light to go through I reckon
Finally, i'm excited to actually get to do something other than crystal tower, ive unlocked all the alliance raids up to shadowbringers and ive literally never gotten anything but crystal tower in the roulette, i genuinely hate them at this point, literally the thing i hate most about this game at this point

I wish they'd just introduce an ilvl sync for alliance raids. Make it ilvl 70 for Labyrinth, ilvl 100 for Syrcus, and keep it at 130 for WoD.
I don't actually remember what the respective ilvl caps were at the time, but those should be it based on the way gear progression works nowadays.
That way people would actually have to respect labyrinth to some degree, and as a result, wouldn't try to cheese into it nearly as much. (Also who actually remembers how labyrinth mechanics work... that would be a hilarious wake-up call)
Did the Crystal Tower raids with full min ilvl alliances a few months back, and I actually found it fun to do. Scylla wiped us so much cause we never knew the mechanics, but was great to see all the mechanics we miss cause we blow past them.
This but for everything. Nothing quite as fun as getting into shinryu and beating him in three and a half minutes.

I don't do many extreme trials, but Thordan does come up in mentor roulette occasionally and it isn't that bad once people understand what they're supposed to do. The currently hardest EX in the game imo is Seat of Sacrifice. It's the only EX trial that I needed to use waymarks, and a group discord call, while unsync, just to get the completion
The shop item update will free up so much retainer space for me, I'm very happy.

im so happy about this. I'd take a legitimately engaging and mechanically interesting raid over a CT raid any day of the week. I happen to actually enjoy playing the game lmao.
As much as I like the idea, I wish there was like a selection of raids you can choose which raids you can get randomly from at least 2 groups of raids. I wish to skip sky pirates, but play the rest. It is the only group of raids one I dread having to do when lvling my jobs.

I am all for that idea but would expand it to like 5 duties total that you exclude from your roulettes. A friend of mine for example never does Alli-roulette out of fear to get Void Arc cause the Morbol-model triggers a panic attack in her.

I'd like to compromise a bit on the raid roulettes. Don't allow ilvl cheesing, but set up a rotating cycle of a subset of raids on any given day. That way if there's one I really don't want to risk getting into, I can just not queue that day if it's in the potential list for alliance roulette.

So what, people who want to do the ivalice raids (which are required to access bozja) just get fucked on days when the ivalice raids aren't in the roulette? Or hell, people doing CT for MSQ just get fucked if CT isn't the roulette on certain days? All so that you can breathe a sigh of relief and queue on days where nier isn't in the rotation?
I think people like you forget that roulettes aren't there for you to get easy exp/tomes. They're there to fill content for people that queue for it, and the tomes/exp are just carrots to get bodies to fill.
That would be terrible. Imagine unlocking void ark, but unlucky you have to wait 4 days for that to be in roullette.
Wish yoshi would put the old armor’s from the old pvp series like the archfiend armor somewhere in the game to make it obtainable for those who miss out on that season.
If getting Aglaia blew your mind, I actually got both Aglaia and Euphrosyne from alliance raid roulette during the same week.
I think people are underestimating how much you'll still get CT. Like seriously the problem isn't ILVL cheese, its leveling characters. Its people who didn't unlock the other alliance raids. Like I know two 90 players who haven't unlocked Nier because its a huge time sink in cutscenes and they get distracted.
Ivalice is still required for Bozja. ilvl cheese is a big problem when it comes to alliance roulette. Obviously CT won't go away completely but I doubt they'd be doing this if it would make next to no change. Obviously it's a big enough problem that they're doing something about it because if it wasn't a big problem like you claim, they'd leave it alone.

If they really want to save Alliance raid/roulette they need to increase the XP amount for the ones that take longer than 10-15 minutes, don't do that and people will just quit when they see what they get or not que at all.
The blocks and platforms in the lunar subterrane are straight from one of the last dungeons in FFIV when you go to fight Zeromus if memory serves. The dungeon had very distinct flooring. Although I always took the flooring to be square bits of glass whereas in FFXIV it looks more like granite. Maybe inside every moon in every reflection there exists some dungeon or facility with the same basic structure and layout but slightly different? FFIV was my first FF game wayyyyyy back. It started my journey so I am super excited. Chose Paladin as my main because of Cecil. Can't wait.

instead, they'll just stop doing the alliance roulette and it will mean that the ARR alliance roulettes (the only ones required for MSQ btw) will take longer aswell.
on top that you'll still see a massive amount of ARR AR's since some people REFUSE to unlock the other alliance raids, like my alt, the only alliance raids it got unlocked is obviously the crystal tower series, i don't like the HWs AR's and every except orbonne in SB suck, i like the nier raids, but don't need to go through them anymore on my alt as i've done them day 1.
also many use this to level their jobs, so you'll have a lot of people that uses lvl 50 jobs.

@@DarkDyllon You can tell how many people do the iLevel cheese in any given instance by watching their health jump up, and it's not a lot overall, so I don't think the population of people queueing is gonna get that much smaller. Frankly, good riddance -- what they were doing was selfish and unfair to everyone else in the roulette.
Also, Ridorana is amazing, in my opinion, and the HW ones are well designed, but the problem, IMO, is that jobs at that level are boring and stat scaling makes the damage and stuff feel undertuned.

During my tome farming phase I got LotA, WoD and Aglaia in equal measure, no other raids. And I'm glad for Aglaia actually as that one runs pretty smoothly these days and gives extra tomes. Not looking forward to getting the NieR ones though.
Have to see how this plays out, if I deem it too tedious I'll just stop doing ally roulettes on high level jobs.

I prefer mid jan. December releases always put so much pressure on raiders and stressed them during a holiday period. Like sure, you gwt leave days but sometimes its nice to soend that with RL so you dont burn out in game

They seriously need to increase number of missions you can do per day.., maybe 4 or 5 would be nice…
