That was nice. I kinda slept on him, found him to be super technical and a true battle dj, but rhythmically at that time wasn’t feeling the selection in comparison to other DJs at that time.
He should come back, as should several other DJs as the musicality of this art form has gone and a lot of people that was obsessed with the scene is done with the competition, but not the art form, there’s many a fan/dj that loves the scene from back then due to the funk that was present in DJs routines, now it’s a routine of presets and button pushing. The DJs are good but just need to put the funk in their routines

He needs to come back proper. I saw how he mocked the current DJ scene with his second USA DMC submission this year (a guy who ‘posed’ as imerge (aka funeralballoons) just pressed buttons for 2 min lol. Head to the DMC site to see it. It was obvi a sarcastic stab at the current battle scene). If he comes back with a full 6 min routine, alot of new DJs aint gonna battle anymore.

agree 100%. Merge was a turntablist campfire story. Dude came in and murked all the competition 04' & 05' Then turns ghost for 15 years. I was really hoping he would do the same again this go around. But after reading your break down that makes total sense. That New Jersey attitude \m/>.

Of course a real champion, a monster, pure madness...but for me is less funkier than others at his era 2002, 2003, 2004. Anyway a magnificent performance!!!

agreed JP, his hyper-aggresive visual style was great for winning battles but not the most musical
