Pulsar Krypton 2 "XG50" Thermal Monocular (with scope testing)

- Just like the Pulsar Thermion XP50 rifle scope that I tested, the Pulsar Krypton 2 XG50 has outstanding thermal detection and image quality. You can use it as a standalone monocular but then easily clip it on to your day optic with a quick detach adapter.
The only issue that I had with the unit I tested, was it was impossible to get the Streamvision 2 App working and 1 out of every 5-6 videos recorded on the internal memory were corrupted and unable to be viewed. For the amount of money paid for one of these units, I would expect zero issues with the App and no issues with internal video recording. - Sport

Hi Ozzie thanks for this, I’ve been looking at them also. Using another Pulsar monocular in the past with the stream vision 2 app I also couldn’t connect to the app. What I found worked eventually was turning on aeroplane mode on my phone/ipad to disconnect cellular reception and leaving just the wifi on.

With the wifi and file issues it might be as simple as a firmware update is needed, hopefully it would be something that simple, or a factory reset, things can definitely glitch out. Great review and amazing how far thermals have come in the last 4-6 years

Pulsar seems to be getting more and more popular. They are on the $$ side though. Would it be an idea to maybe run a comparison IR v's Thermal v's spotlight. Thinking for those getting into night hunting and confused with all the concepts out there?
I use x2 or x4 electronic zoom on my thermal for precise shot. Very useful technology.

You gotta turn off "Mobile Data" for the app and then it'll work fine, its more of an Apple issue where it doesn't detect the internet over the wifi connection so it ignores it. By turning off Mobile Data it'll allow you to use the wifi connection.

I just got my Templeton T-2000 in marine stainless steel and walnut stock and foregrip. I’ve used all the Turkish shotguns and this is by far the best quality made Turkish shotgun out of them all hands down. Well made shotgun,great finish,smooth cycling action,button release is the best version compared to the lever release and straight pulls. For $1380.00 new you can’t go wrong,better than any Adler crap hands down.
I just don’t have the money for one, hence why I have to ask people to donate via Patreon and buy merch

I'm interested in getting one but obviously the previous incarnations have been a bit lacking.
Try turning off cellular data on your phone to connect to the thermal. Once connected, you can turn cellular data back on. I have a thermtec monocular and that's what I have to do.
I'm guessing you have raised these issues with Stream Vision re the app or Extra vision re the firmware .
I bought one on 26/9 and have used it a few times but have not tried to record anything.
The XG35 LRF performs as advertised .

Are you using a Mac? I found out that if your video recording is over 5 mins and your using a Mac, the video files will be corrupted however the same video files work perfectly on a PC I’m told…
Hey mate! I'm downloading to a samsung tablet and only short clips of no longer than 2min ish. I might have narrowed it down to making sure I stop the recording and not leaving it on pause when I turn it off or put it on standby fingers crossed haven't had it happen since🤞 great channel mate

I like mine, but i have only fired about 150 rounds through it at this stage... seems sturdy though and I have had any problems with it, other than the occasional jam from not pumping the handle with enough strength to properly seat a round. Once you get used to it, pumping shouldnt be a problem.
The corrupt video files might be due to the type of card you’re using. What class and speed is the card? Also what format did you reformat it to?
I believe it’s internal onboard not a card. I can’t confirm now as it’s back with my mate
What ear pro are you using mate
Pulsar needs to:
-Move to 18659 or similar
-Higher HD screen to optical zoom
-rail clip on for better accuracy
So...where has the reticle gone? How are you aiming this thing?

@@ozziereviews Yes, actually, I am! I haven't used one of these before and had a simple question...at 13:04 you shoot the rabbits and others at 13:40 - how are you placing your shots if the reticle isn't visible (I presume you're recording through the scope?). Others I've seen on various channels clearly show cross hairs. It was just a simple question mate from someone trying to improve...
@@rossholmes178so it’s a clip on thermal, which as shown is clipped on to the front of the scope, so it’s physically impossible for it to record the crosshair in the scope as it’s clipped on to the front of the scope as shown
