- We are traveling through Honduras with our Four Wheel Camper and the scenery is incredible.
Sadly we run into some unexpected trouble and it changed the course of our travels for good.
We cross the border from El Salvador into Honduras, which was a very easy and relaxed process.
In Honduras we only have 3 goals:
- Go to Utila and get our PADI open water
- Extend our CA4 visa
- Have fun
We drive hundreds of kilometers to La Ceiba, where we are going to take a ferry to Utila.
And already we run into some issues.
From overheating Transmission, difficulty finding Campsites and being bedridden for a couple of days due to illness.
We end our time in Honduras with a very unfortunate situation and it was never the same afterwards.
We left Canada in October 2022 and we drove all to way to Honduras. Our dream is to reach Argentina one day and complete the Pan American Highway.

Events like this can happen anywhere. Hope you appreciate the beauty of this country too ❤
At least they had the courtesy of leaving the windows intact, your truck would likely get bipped in record time in broad daylight in San Francisco.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck, at least the truck wasn't stolen.
We are very lucky! It's a good wake up call.
Sorry they broke into your truck. When you said you're getting secure locks for your truck, what are you going to install?
We are not sure yet. And we are aware that no locks or security systems are going to stop anyone... But at least we'll make it harder. The security of our stuff was in place, as they were never able to open it up. (We have locks in the back and they did their job)
Damn man really suck that they broke into your truck/home. Could have been worse for sure but still sucks. Good luck with your trip back to Canada. Hope it’s a good trip back. Do you plan to go back to finish?
Yes, We are going to ship from US or Canada directly. But first enjoy the Canadian summer ❤️
Very nice beaches there. To bad you couldn't catch the individual who broke in. Happy travels in next country. Can't get over the amount of Toyota's traveling the panamera highway.
We were surprised by that as wel! It gives a feeling of comfort to know that our Toyota will be in good hands if we need it 😅
wow you got lucky
We did. Very lucky... Wake up call
Me as a Honduran, I want to apologize and I'm embarrassed! What happened to your truck! I'm Sorry 😢
Oscar, We love Honduras and we love the people. This can happen anywhere and we are a target if we want to or not. We will definitely come back to Honduras one day and redo our trip, to get a better experience ❤️
Good thing it happened in Honduras and not the US,Canada or Europe,bc it would've been worse there
12:55 You are right,Honduras is greener,as a matter of fact,is the greenest in CA,with over 48% of
the territory declared protected area and over 78% of its territory covered in forests, makes it
the MECCA of biodiversity in CA.
PS: Honduras just like the rest of the countries in the one and only AMERICAN CONTINENT(north, central
and south AMERICA) are western countries bc is the western hemisphere ✌
It really is very green! We wished we had more time to explore the north eastern part of the country. Maybe next time!
what is your next adventure
That's a very big surprise! Coming up soon...
Could happen anywhere. But certainly, a much higher risk in South and Central America. Mexico.
The main issue we had, was the fact that it felt safe... it was not a moment of doubt. It felt safe and that feeling was wrong. It made us question every judgement of safe afterwards.
@@justtravlin It is still a violation and feels aweful. Stay safe!
