Hi Liv, what a meaningful first floss tube, well done. Your ‘Why’ related to several of us fellow cross stitchers. You are jolly, kind and positive and I have subscribed. Happy stitching those beautiful gifts.
Olivia, thank you for sharing your beginning journey into cross stitch...I was a self taught stitcher until witching flosstube...Brenda is a super talented person...such a joy to watch...love all you shared...best wishes and happy stitching ❤
Great job!! You’ve done a lot of learning in a short period of time. The kit you are working on with the wiry fabric - it’s actually canvas like that used in needlepoint. Stretcher bars may work better to keep the canvas taught. Looking forward to sharing in your journey!!❤❤
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the advice - I'll have to to try that out!
Hi Olivia
What a brilliant first video, so glad you decided to join this community. Looking forward to seeing your next video and sharing your creative journey with us. Take care 👵x
Thank you so much! This community is filled with so many kind and warm people, thank you for making it this way!
Love the "Why" you started cross stitch! I am 58 and started again after 25 yrs of not stitching because I was home with Covid. I do not sleep at night so like you this does help turn off the wheels in the brain. You understand where others don't. Enjoyed your 1st Flosstube
Thank you so much for watching! Yes, there is something really magical about how needlework soothes an anxious mind. I'm glad you found similar peace!
Great first video! Love your projects! Thanks for reminding me why I stitch. 😀 I can’t wait for your next video. 👏
Thank you so much for watching! 💕
Thank you for sharing your time and talents! Thank you also explaining your "why". Stitching has had the same impact on my life. ~Amy
Great 1st flosstube. I watched around 1am because could not sleep. The flosstube community is wonderful. I know no other stitchers so watching others talk about and share their work is awesome for me. I also tried embroidery and stamped Crosstitch, but counted Crosstitch produced a more elegant product for me so that became my love. And right now it is a major stress relief and mind calmer. I sip hot tea in the mornings when I am stitching. I could go on but I will stop here. Looking forward to seeing more of your flosstube and Happy Stitching & Happy Music Making.❤😃
Thank you so much for watching! Yes, the floss tube community is unique in how warm and welcoming it is. It truly fills the desire to connect with other stitchers, like meeting up with friends. I'm glad to hear cross stitch brings you the same joy and peace that it does for me. See you soon!
Thank you for sharing how and why you started stitching. I knew without a doubt that cross stitch had kept me sane during the Covid restrictions. So glad there are others who actually benefit physically by taking up this hobby. :-)
On your C bookmark, you can stitch a square around the C and fill in the square with a color you feel is complimentary to the C color. It does t have to be a big square, just 1 block outside of the C borders 😊. Loved how you explained the stress you were under and how cross stitch helped you to calm down and relax ❤
I think that the stress-relief of hand crafts is under appreciated - thanks for sharing your story. I think that the necessity of counting is one of the reasons it is helpful, actually - because counting takes at least some of ones mind, and requires a certain amount of attention - and thus it helps organize the mind. Kind of like exercise, counting the reps.
Love your spirit!!! Oh my, the cotton piece is especially magical. What a gift! Looking forward to your next video visit
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you, Olivia. for reminding me why I have cross stitched for 40 plus years!
Thank you so much for watching!
I just watched after your video showed up in my ‘recommended’ list. I really identify with you! Few stitchy friends, stepmom, stressful legal job (paralegal) and craft beer lover. I love your enthusiasm for your new passion as well as how adventurous you are with it. I stitched for years growing up and have picked it up since from time to time, but became really addicted a few years ago and was so happy to discover so many new designers and loves how the designs have changed. As I finished this one, I went back to YT to find my next video and saw that your second one posted just 3 hours ago! So excited to watch it. I guess I’m binging Liv today!! 🤣
Aw, thank you so much! I'm so glad you connected; we have SO much in common! I hope to see your stitching and hear your story, too!
I am so glad you have found cross stitch!!! Your first floss tube was very well done and I can't wait to see and hear more from you. I have been stitching for over 50 years and love it. I just taught my beautiful granddaughter (19 years old) how to cross stitch and she loves it.
Hi Olivia. Loved hearing your journey story into stitch. Loved seeing how you're personalizing the bookmarks for your work mates. 😊
Liv, simply delightful. I celebrate your accomplishments. My husband, Stan, plays guitar and played in a bluegrass band for many years. You are a ray of sunshine. Welcome to the FlossTube community.
Thank you so much! I love that we have so much in common, music and stitching! ❤
Great 1st video, Olivia! I agree with having yourself a drink while stitching 😊. I used to be exclusively an aida stitcher. Since I began watching flosstube I have started to stitch on lugana and linen. I love all the options!
Thank you so much! Yes, there seems to be no end to the creative choices we can make in our stitching. I attribute every skill I have to the wonderful people on floss tube! Thanks for watching!
Oh goodness, I love all the positivity and calmness vibes. I stitch to escape stress as well. Its amazing how much it centers me. I'm looking forward to more videos and seeing that big project! I too just started a flosstube, we’ll grow together in this new venture 😊
That was so much fun! Beautiful bookmarks and I look forward to seeing how your cotton piece works out.
Thank you so much!
So glad I found your channel. You come across as comfy in front of a camera which is a great thing. You're a natural and such a positive person. So I decided to subscribe to your channel and will always watch out for your future videos. I, too, started stitching more than 30 yrs ago as a relaxing and unwinding activity after a work day. It has also enabled me to make handmade gifts to family and friends. I've done all sorts of a plethora of crafts but I always go back to cross stitch as it's my first love. I'm glad you found the cross stitch community and enjoy it. It's a great global community. Enjoy the journey and stay safe Olivia 💕 Viv from Western Australia 🇦🇺 😊
P.S. A tip for you when stitching on linen...complete each stitch at a time. Complete the x before you go to the next one. Especially when you're stitching over 2, you won't make any counting mistakes when you do this. Hope that helps 😉
Thank you, Viv! Its a pleasure to "meet" you and connect with wonderfully warm stitchers from every corner of the world! I love to hear that stitching brings you the same joy and comfort that it does for me. Take care!
Linen forever! IMHO it makes a far superior finish. Good on you for trying it😊
Love the story - especially when you said “ I’m a cross stitch girl”❤
A wonderful first video, thank you for hearing about your life for me I love to get to know the stitchers I listen to so thank you
Thank you for watching and connecting with me!
I enjoyed your video and look forward to more. Your reason for stitching resonates with me.
Wonderful!! A lovely surprise so I subscribed! I look forward to seeing how you finish the bookmarks.
Thank you so much!
Very well put. Being still with my own thoughts and the movement of the needle has brought me so much inner calm and given me a way to work through things in my mind. I started last year around April. I started with only stamped kits, but then I realized that a whole new world of possibilities opened up when I could grab any fabric I liked and any thread to mix and match, and that was so exciting! That I could buy a pattern and add or remove motifs, put in initials, whatever. That changed so much. Now I do both, and counted more than stamped. I binge-watched Pam and Steph when really getting into Flosstube. This really is a great community. So glad to welcome you here. You sound like such an interesting person. Looking forward to seeing your videos!
Thank you so much for the warm welcome! You describe perfectly the zen that comes through needlework, and then we get the benefit of beautiful projects. I'm so glad to join this community that's brought me so much happiness already!
Hi and welcome Liv, it’s always great to watch a new floss tuber. Congratulations and see you next time. 🇦🇺
Thank you so much! This community has wow'ed me yet again with its warmth and welcome; it reaches across oceans! Great to connect with you!
Can't wait to see how your bookmarks turn out...makes me want to make some gifts like these!
Great first video! You are so confident and jumped right in! Good luck on this journey.
Thank you so much! 💞
Loved your video! Can’t wait to see more. Can’t wait to see the tapestry! Also, for inebriated stitching (because sometimes you just want to stitch even if you shouldn’t be) consider a preprinted pattern. There are a ton of them and they come with everything you need. Like coloring with floss and you can’t mess up the pattern!
Thank you so much! I'll have to look into the preprinted patterns or something else easy to do when I want to enjoy a craft brew (or three) while stitching!
Hello Olivia! I was so glad I came across your first video today! I enjoyed your cheerful outlook and noted other talents. I too love too watch Brenda Handwork Maniac. I started cross stitch like many others, during the pandemic. My very first ever piece was a wedding sampler I stitched for my youngest sister in 1981 and since then only occasionally stitched baby, wedding, special birthday pieces, until 2021 when I found Flosstube! It opened up a whole new world. The night time stitching kept me on my diet and have lost 46 lbs and still going. It kept me calm and sane as I live alone, and only ventured out to visit my sister who has Parkinson’s in her nursing home and get groceries.
I went to our Canadian Stitch North 2023 in May and met new friends and recently joined a local group that meet every other month. Again met new friends! Stitching has such a great community of wonderful, enthusiastic people! Hope you have a great stitchy week ahead! Cheers! 👋🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and connecting; it sounds like we love a lot of the same things about stitching, and the Flosstube community. Congratulations on your good health and community of Canadian stitchers!
😊 Your husband was so successful at making you look & sound goood…lol. Made me chuckle. You are so talented in such a variety of arts. Look forward to Flosstube #2. Welcome aboard. (BTW - just went to Samantha’s the Hygge Stitcher’s site & she pronounces it Huga - that’s like Hugo with an “a”). Hope that helps❤
Thank you so much - I'll pass along the compliment to him. I'm lucky to have him, for so so many reasons! And thank you for the pronunciation help; I need it haha!
Cross stitching definitely helps calm the mind and the body. I don’t sleep well and cross stitch helps. I enjoyed your first episode and now I am binge watching your other ones! Welcome to the community.
Thank you so much for watching and connecting! Stitching is always my happy place, and the place I find myself whenever my mind is too busy, which is most days frankly haha! I’m so glad that we’ve found our refuge. ❤
(Sorry for my belated reply 😬)
Liv, I only wish I'd found you sooner. Looking forward to the next one though!
The suggestion for the square around the C bookmark was spot on (or square on!)
I made Christmas ornaments and bookmarks this past Christmas for my YMCA instructors who've cheered me on the past two years. I ironed fusible interfacing onto the back of the bookmarks. I kept one for me and can photograph and send you a copy if you wish!
I'm a part time pet sitter in my retirement and also companion sit older people. I am no spring chicken. Soon to turn 68, I've been stitching since I was 5. Mom was a very patient teacher❤ Cant wait to meet your pets! 🐾 🐾
Hi, Liv! One minute in, and I’ve already subscribed! 😊
Meline
Aw, thank you, Meline! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome! Love your stitching story! Stitching is my therapy--- apparently, I need a lot of it! 😂
Haha isn’t it the truth!! Life is the disease, and cross stitch is our antidote! Thank you so much for watching!
I really enjoyed your video, Olivia!! I really liked the backstory as to how you found cross stitch and why you continue to enjoy it. We have a few things in common, too! I lived in Dallas for 10 years (though I don’t anymore), I’m also a lawyer, and Brenda is one of my absolute favorite Flosstubers!! Your bookmarks are very cute and I’m impressed that you modified those designs yourself! Oh, the one that you want to jazz up, maybe add some beads? As long as they aren’t too big I don’t think they’d affect the utility of the bookmark. Also, just a tip about linen, be sure you’re starting next to a vertical thread, and as you work, try to force your eye to see in twos (two holes) instead of threads of the linen. It’s hard to explain, but when it starts happening for you, you’ll know it and you will rarely miscount.
Hello! I have been following your work on Instagram for months now; what a pleasure to connect with you! And to find out we have so much in common - now I see why I've been drawn to your work.
Thank you for the recommendations for stitching on linen. I love the flexibility of the fabric, as well as the rich history of linen stitching, so I'm all for ways to make that skill come easier. Thank you so much for connecting - it's a delight!
@@LongLivTheStitcher You know that’s funny, but that’s happened to me too, I follow someone and then I start seeing that we have things in common! I found you on Insta so we can connect there as well. Oh, and I have a brand new FT channel too, just dropped my second video a couple of days ago!
Also forgot to mention that I have the same kit 'You are stronger than you know' and feel so inspired to start stitching on it. It's great to know that someone else likes the same design 😊
Isn't cool how seeing someone working on the same pattern kick-starts the drive to do the same? That's one of the things I love about this community and its impact in my life. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi Olivia! I live outside of Fort Worth. Loved hearing your story and look forward to seeing more videos! 💕
Hi neighbor! Thank you so much for your encouragement!
Great job for your first video! Hand stitching is the best stress management reducer! I look forward to seeing your personalized bookmarks when they are finished!
Thank you! Yes, the best (and cheapest) therapy there is! 😁
Thank you for your video. Wonderful job on your first one. I look forward to seeing your progress on your WIPS. And also that large tapestry. Take care and happy stitching!
Thank you so much for watching! I think my third Flosstube will be all about my tapestry!
The antique floral banner is so prettyyy and the colours that you used are so beautiful!!! great palette choice!!!🥰
Thank you so much! 🥰
Great first video! Looking forward to more!
Thank you so much for watching!
You put a big smile on my face this whole video early in the morning before going to work, thank you for that :D I can't wait for your next videos, you seem to be a very sunny person (and I also can't wait to see your cat and your doggy !)
Aw, thank you so much - goal achieved! You brightened my day with your warm comments! And I think my dog will be in a video soon, he tends to be near me most days.
Thank you for taking us on your journey! Can’t wait for the next video!
Thank you so much!🤩
Loved your first floss tube!! Looked like you’ve done it many times. 😊. When you use the blue pen, make sure you put it in clean, plain water to remove the color. No detergent at first. After you get the marks out you can wash it. Hope that helps a little. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for the compliment, and for the advice - I'll have to try that. I would love to salvage that WIP; the colors are so vibrant. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your video - enjoyed learning about your journey into this wonderful craft - I have been stitching for about 40 years and there is always something new to learn have a great day
Thank you so much, and thank you for connecting!
I took piano lessons from Faith Moore, whose son is John Moore, who is huge in the bluegrass community!! He used to play the banjo and the mandolin for me while I was waiting to get picked up. Because of him I have a huge love for bluegrass music and especially the mandolin. Definitely going to head over to listen to your music. ❤
What a small world - that's so cool that we have both stitching and bluegrass to connect us! Thank you so much!
So nice to meet you Liv! Your co-workers will love their bookmarks!
Thank you so much! I hope so - I'm going to finish them this weekend (I'll film the finished products!)
Such fun to meet you! I am looking forward to seeing more videos - I work at a law firm in Virginia and I love/appreciate how you found your appreciation for cross stitch. ❤
Thank you so much for watching - it's nice to meet you, too! I love how many people in the law have connected here; we all need some stress relief haha!
Welcome!!
Thank you!
My kind of stitcher !, Cheers 😂
Haha cheers! Thank you for watching!
welcome to flosstube!!!! I look forward to hearing more from you! I'm Nia, a songwriter /musician from Melbourne Australia!
WOW! Awesome video! You have a wonderful personality and loved your stitching! Look forward to your next video!
Thank you so much! You're too kind!
Aubrey Texas here! Love watching floss tube as I stitch and just came across your video. I love two Blue Moon’s in the late afternoon every day and try not to have my third to also prevent frogging!!! Working on my first Luca-s kit “Paris in Flowers” and really enjoying full coverage and the beautiful colors. Looking fwd to watching more video’s and expanding my knowledge on craft beer! 😃
Hello neighbor! Thank you so much for watching and connecting; there's something really great about combining a cold brew and colorful pattern haha! I look forward to hearing more about your progress on the full coverage piece!
Great first FlossTube. 🪡🪡🪡
Thank you so much!
Loved your first flosstube! Looking forward to your next !
Thank you so much!
Very nice flow to your first flosstube. I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thank you so much! 🤩
Olivia, I see the joy in your demeanor of the new adventure in your life. Welcome to our cross stitch community. I look forward to your future videos. Stay cool cause it is hot here in Louisiana as I am sure it is in Texas.
Haha yes, we have to stay cool! Thank you so much for your warm words and connecting - this is the best online community I have ever known 😍
Welcome to the community. Looking forward to your videos. Love your work. On "c" bookmark I think adding yellow will spark it up.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I’m so glad the colors of that one came through the video; I think you’re right about yellow popping!
Hey y’all, another Kentucky gal. Of course you play the mandolin, drink, and are charming! Loved your story about cross stitch and stress relief.
We love our bourbon ya know, but a beer never hurts. Try White Rascal if you can find it, from Nashville I believe, has herbs in it, so refreshing.
Hello! Haha, we Kentucky gals are a special kind....something about fast horses and beautiful women, or is it fast women and beautiful horses haha! Thank you so much for watching and connecting; I'll be checking out that beer suggestion! I think I've seen it around here.
Enjoyed your first Flosstube! Liked and subscribed! Looking forward to another episode!
Thank you so much for watching and connecting! 🤩
Love your projects! I would crochet a border around the bookmarks, holes are already there.☺️
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the advice! I might just have to bring back my crochet hooks for it! 😊
Hi I'm a returner to cross stitch. I first started 42 years ago while pregnant with my first born, then about 10 years ago got into quilting and sewing and forgot about the cross stitch. It was when Covid hit over here in the UK I had plenty of time on my hands so rummaged in my cross stitch drawer got out a WIP and it's gone from there. I now watch a lot of floss tubes for inspiration. xx
Isn’t flosstube great for that?? I’m always encouraged and inspired to dive into something new or something beautifully familiar after a little time in this community. Thank you so much for connecting with me across the pond! 😅
I just found you today and welcome to this community! ❤ You are the age of my daughters. I have been a long time stitcher off and on for most of my life. And proud to say I got both my daughters into it. We all have different taste but enjoy everything about it from stitching and finishing all the things. Currently helping my daughter with her co workers Christmas gifts called “Statehood splendor series”. We live in Indiana right across the Ohio river from Louisville Ky. She works in Louisville. We are mostly working on the Kentucky ones for them. Sorry for the long comment but I feel a connection you! Happy stitching ❤.
Thank you so much for watching and connecting! I had family who for a time lived in Indiana, right across the river - what a small world! It’s lovely that you share this craft with your daughter - I hope you two continue to enjoy it together! Thanks for reaching out and connecting with me!
Congratulations 🎉Great first video. Looking forward to joining you on your😊 crossstitch journey.
Thank you so much! 🤩
Enjoyed your first video. I, too, went back to school in my late thirties. I enjoy lots of flosstubes. Just keep stitching, Elisabeth Ann can stitch, stitching with the housewives, and primrose cottage are a few favorites. I just watched hygge stitcher. I love that pattern, but I'm working on the spring quaker and don't want to do both at the same time.
How wonderful! Hearing about others who went back to school later in life literally fueled both my decision to go and the drive to keep going until graduation - thank you for sharing! And I hope to see your Spring Quaker, those patterns are just lovely.
🦉Welcome to the Flosstube community❣️
❤🌻🐝🌻 Great Flosstube!
Thank you so much!🤩
Congratulations on your first video. Can’t wait for your next video ❤
Thank you so much!! 😊
Great video. Welcome to floss tube !!!!
Thank you so much!🤩
Love your stitching! My two go to floss tubers are Helen D and Dottie at stitching Scottie.. Dottie is a Hoot.
Thank you for the recommendations; I'll have to check them out. Thank you for watching!
Hello! What an inspiring video ! Your story is such a positive one and I'm glad to have discovered you. I've subscribed and looking forward to more videos. I'm also very happy that you adopted your dog and not purchased. I have been fostering dogs for a local rescue group for over 23 years and the need is so great! Xo welcome!!
What a lovely video. You came up as a recommendation and I'm so glad you did. The reason explanation was intriguing to hear. I've said my handcrafts keep me sane. I'm in Georgia, but my daughter is in Denton. Such a nice area of Texas.
I'll be binge watching tonight to catch up on your videos.
Thank you so much! It’s wonderful to connect with someone who I have so much in common with! ❤️
Liv, I so enjoyed your video! I'm from the DFW area but now retired to Montgomery TX. Love your spirit. I, too, just started Summer Quaker. Look forward to more from you!
Thank you so much! And I can't wait to see everyone's progress on the Summer Quaker; it' such a beautiful pattern!
Nice to meet you, Olivia. I really enjoyed your first video and subscribed so fast! Brenda was one of the first flosstubers I watched as well. I’m looking forward to seeing your future episodes. Happy stitching!
Hi Liv. Nice to see your video. I too am a Texas attorney, and I find cross-stitching to be such a great stress relief. I have stitched since I was a pre-teen, but it was something I picked up here and there. Then about 10 years ago, I really picked it up again as my work got more stressful. A testament to TLAP - they would love your story.
Hello! Thank you for watching and reaching out; it’s great to connect with you! There are so many other attorneys who have reached out, it’s been such a testament to handcrafts soothing our busy minds. I love to hear that you’ve found the same peace. ❤
Love your story and your care behind your projects! Amazing job for your first video.
Thank you so much!
I am hanging on the edge of my seat to see your massive full coverage now haha
Haha it’s coming soon! I’ll probably make that video in a week or so. Thanks for watching! 😊
You've got me hooked now! Can't wait to see the Scarlett Quince piece, if it's the one I'm thinking of, I've wanted to stitch that for a very long time. I just love Brenda, Handwork Maniac, I think she was the 2nd Floss Tuber I was introduced to back in 2016 or so. My friend showed me her video where she did a sort of sampler of houses and all the house were modified to look like the houses she's lived in and she filled in around it some of the features around the house (as I recall). The very 1st Floss Tuber I was "pointed" to was Nicole of Nicole's Needlework. She has a very early Floss Tube showing all her completed projects, mostly samplers - she's a very prolific stitcher! She had 3 (yes Three) of those plastic tubes full of her pieces. I highly recommend you look that one up if you haven't run across it yet. On the subject of knowing no other cross stitchers, I bet you'd be totally surprised to find you probably have someone right in your area. If your LNS has stitch days or does retreats, that a great way to meet fellow stitchers. Getting into one of the many stitching "groups" on Facebook and letting people know what area you are in will have people replying, "I live in........". But Floss Tube and Zoom are totally awesome. I'm in a FB group called Crafts and Books (she has a Floss Tube as well, The Steadfast Stitcher) and we Zoom every Monday and Friday evenings and for special things. Check us out! I'm on InstaGram as CO_Stitcher if you'd like to see some of my projects as I don't have a Floss Tube.
Hello and thank you for watching! Community is what makes floss tube so special, and I'm delighted by the invitation to join yours. I'll be checking out your Insta now!
I have such respect for people like Nicole and Brenda who have stitched for years with so much creativity and dedication to making beautiful things. It's an incredible way to live life!
Great video, now you have stitchy friends! Welcome.....
Thank you! Yea, I do - what a great group of people!
Amazing ❤video please do more xx
Very nice first video!
What a great first video, love the intro music. I am a fanatical coffee drinker and occasionally will have a few glasses of wine. Your stitching is really nice and very colorful. I will follow to see how you finish them and good luck on the one for your boss and the “cotton” stitch, love it. 🪡🧵👏☕️
Thank you so much! And good to connect with another coffee-loving stitcher!
So enjoyed your first video! Your enthusiasm is contagious and I love how personalized your projects are for everyone. Looking forward to more videos. Welcome from another newish flosstuber❤
Thank you so much! And welcome to this incredible, supportive community!
Such a happy video! You actually made me laugh at least twice, and I was actually listening to what you were saying! Great video and of course I am now waiting for the next ones!! 😂
Thank you so much! Your comment warmed my heart and encourages me to keep talking haha! I'm truly honored.
Hello and good luck on this journey. I cross stitch years ago but started again last year.and fabric and threads have changed a lot. I also quilt, embroidery, crochet and knit. I am 88 years old and retired since I was 80 years old.
Thank you so much for watching!
Welcome to Flosstube. Great introduction and first video. Your coworker gifts are lovely!
Thank you so much!
You are adorable! Please keep up on the podcasts….I’m a follower!
Thank you so much!
Okay, I love this.
Aw, thank you!
Loved your video! I bought a sewing machine in 2020 and taught myself to quilt and soon after added cross stitching to my crafts. I am loving both so much! I am so happy I came across your flosstube - you stitch for the same reasons I do and I loved your flosstube style! I will be tuning into your future videos 😊
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you love it for the same reasons!
Great video. And I am moving back home to Dallas after about 17 years so I made a note of the LNS locations you mentioned and look forward to checking them out. Looking forward to your next video. Can't wait to see the tapestry!
Thank you, and welcome back! Creative Stitches and Gifts is a great, friendly shop; I think you'll find a home there.
What a great first video! I need a beer 🍺💕.
Haha yes, ma’am! Thank you for watching!
Hello! I live in East Texas ( a couple hours from Dallas) and am originally from Southern Indiana. I started cross-stitching sometime around 2010 I believe. I had been teaching myself how to knit and was loving it but wanted a different craft to learn also. I ended up loving both crafts and sticking with them. I tend not to sleep much at night and will often be found in my craft room watching flosstube and working on either a cross stitch, knitting, or drawing project. I return to university this month to try for a bachelor's in psychology, so might not have as much time to craft. I am nearing 50 quickly (47 this year) and I agree that anyone that wants a change in their career should not hesitate to go back to school if they are able to. It is great to meet you! I look forward to watching your progress on your projects.
Congratulations on your return to school! It’s always the right time to invest in yourself, and maybe some crafting time snuck in between class assignments will make success that much sweeter. It’s great to meet you, too, thank you for watching and connecting!
Loved your video! I watch a lot of FlossTube and it’s nice to see a fresh take, to hear the “why” of how you came to stitching as well as what it is that you’re making. I love a good craft beer and I’m from the Kansas City area so the Boulevard beer was definitely familiar to me. Thanks so much for your video, I look forward to many more!
Thanks so much! 😊 And Boulevard is an American classic - I’ve never visited their brewery but it’s on my list the next time I’m in town. Thanks for watching!
Great first video! So glad I found your Flosstube! I live in Texarkana, Tx 🤠 looking forward to more!!
Yay! Thank you!
I’m also working on a Lady and the Unicorn tapestry! Definitely one of my favorite pieces. 🩷 Welcome to flosstube!
Ooooh how cool! I'd love to see your work - it's an inspiring work(s) of art for sure. I just subscribed to your channel and can't wait to see your work! Thank you for watching!
Just slow down and enjoy the stitching itself. It's cheap therapy 😌
The best kind around! Thanks for watching!
This was a wonderful first Flosstube! You are very personable and a natural in front of the camera. I'm off to check out your music!
