Get them towels at Costco!
Way ahead of you on this. I took all the windows out of my car and haven't had a problem since!
Wow a million dollar idea
Now you just have to defog your goggles!
That's actually genius!!! and lots of fresh air!!! :)

Fog free, for free!
Was going to post that question, its been all foggy and cold in houston my windows get all foggy its really annoying.
Hey Scotty, what do you think of Hyundai cars (The 2013 Equus in particular)? If not, what Lexus model do you recommend for 12,000 and under?
Aye Scotty. My 07 charger 2.7L 151 thousand miles is showing code p1417. What does it mean and how can I fix it?
its wonderful watching someone with so much passion and energy
When I searched youtube for a tutorial on how to «de-fog» my windows i didnt expect to be this much entertained. Great stuff! New subscriber
I'm glad this channel exists.
Scotty is a god
@@kobrien4121 In fact ! Why not just call him THOR!
I just discovered it a week ago.
Rev up that CZcams love
I can confirm that dirtier windshields do fog up more, keep 'em clean.
And I've noticed that it's surprisingly difficult to get car windows truely clean. They always look perfectly clean after cleaning and wiping but next time they're fogged up I can see all the wonderful twirls left by my microfiber cloth/newspaper/whatever I've tried to use to clean
Thomas Smith That’s right. Scotty even said no dirty comments.
@@YoStu242 believe it or not, newspaper cleans glass the best, leaves not streaks or dust, amazing and true, just try it and you will see, crumple it up and go to town and it leaves the glass sparkle, and a body shop dude told me this and i have been using newspaper for the last 30 years, it works too well i tell ya
hard to find newspapers nowadays@@ronvalley1973
Of if you smoke a lot your windshield can develop a film on it.
Been a mechanic since the 70's in the north of England and really love your videos. Unfortunately here we are plagued with salt and rust in our cars-but otherwise you talk total sense.Big Geordie-Northumberland.
*I use generic shaving cream. I spread it on the inside of the window and wipe it off. I also use it on my bathroom mirror to prevent shower fog. Works great.*

4:52 Love the Moto on your garage 🙏🏽
Scotty, if you were a religious guy who worked on dirtbikes, would you put a MotoCross on your garage?
You mean the Live Free or Die? I keep thinking Scotty lives in NH.
Doesn't look like a motorcycle to me. Maybe a motto though.
Yet another video with valuable information. You're the man Scotty!
How simple! Love it!! Thanks for always having no nonsense answers to car questions.
In very cold climates, you will get fog, or worse, ice, on the inside of the car windows. One way to minimize this is to knock as much snow off of your shoes and pants as you can when you get in. If the day is sunny, leave a window open a crack, so when the interior heats up during the day, all that water vapor can escape the car, instead of fogging or freezing in the inside of the windows. Ice on both sides of the window can make you late for work!! Thanks again for the videos, Scotty!
Scotty endorsing Scott paper towels. Funny coincidence?
great scott! you may be onto something
They might put Scotty's picture on them.
Maybe scotty owns them!

Glad to have you...thank you for all your help.
Scotty! I was going to recommend that same cleaner but my mind was a little foggy!
This was actually quite a useful video and addresses a major safety issue, coz visibility is everything while driving.
I love learning new things each and everyday watching your videos Scotty
Great advice have been using this method for years! Thanks Scotty 👍
Another very useful video, Scotty- Thanks !!

"We're doing weather reports now" 😀😁😂😆😄 Scotty, you really got me laughing there lol
It's always hot in Mexico!
I always wondered why when I push the auto button for the air the a/c comes on. Thanks scotty appreciate this video.
b3ar0fab Almost like your owner's manual would explain that. Besides that's a separate control, not defrost.
4:10 Anybody else notice the Y added to the Scott towels. Slick move, Scotty.
LOL!
Nope I didn't even notice until you mentioned it because I was stuck on him demonstrating and wow that's a 😆😆😆😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Thank you! Useful info about the AC compressor 😊
My first car was a 1978 Cobra ii. I used to hand wax it weekly with California Custom brand wax. I also used it on the outside of the glass and it acted as a great water repellant when it rained. I tried it on the inside of the glass also and it ended up being a great anti fog, especially after my heater core went bad.
Did you fix your heater core? How did it go bad? I know it’s 5 years since you posted the comment. But my heater core is bad on a 1999 F150 and was looking for pointers to get it fixed since precious owner did a bypass on the heater core
This is the best and honest mechanic online. I wish I lived close enough to be your client.

Great videos , keep them up! Those towels look amazing!
God bless you man! I’ve been losing my mind with the damn inside fog situation. It cost me 5 min every time I get in (in the cold months) BECAUSE I HAD been keeping the recirculate air activated. I feel like I owe you money or something
why would you even turn it on
@@ksawiprod9140 didn’t you watch the video man?
Best mechanic on youtube! ❤️
Clean, non-offensive comment
Thanks SCOTTY, love 💓 all your vids SIR.
Thank you Scotty!! I couldn't drive bc the fog and condensation was very heavy the last two days. Trying your tips with hope❤️✌️😁
Since I never clean the interior of my windows, I've always had interior fogging issues. I accidentally discovered the AC trick years ago, so I've pretended to be a genius about it. I can't believe it's never occurred to me that dirty windows would attract/hold more condensation. Thank you, Scotty, for educating this numbskull! Think I'll go clean my windows now.
me too. i never understood why, in the winter, on defrost mode, using cold air worked better than warm air. It's cuz like Scotty said, the cold air dried the air/fog. And plus, the hot air wasn't really hot enough until the engine warmed up. I think the best thing to do is leave the windows cracked about a half inch. No harm no foul. (But perhaps no stereo come morning).
I have tried air conditioning on but still getting foggy
When I start driving but when I stop it clears up and foggy again as soon as I start driving 😢
@@MP-hw6sx Sounds like your AC ISN'T working!

As always, great entertaining info, Mr. Scotty. I like blue shop towels, too. Pricey but worth it.
I repair small engine equipment as a hobby and many of the principles apply to cars. But your tips really help me to get past the point of knowing just enough to get myself in trouble. Like a vehicle's heater not blowing hot because the coolant is low. Wow, never would have thought of that!
You're a funny guy. Thanks for all of your videos
Thanks for all the great info bro!!!
Thanks for the tip Scotty!
Excellent Video! 😊
Thanks for the A/C defrost explanation Scotty. I've always wondered about that. Great work...
Great information. We have a 2014 Volvo XC90. Every time I used the defroster it also turns on the air condition. Now I know why it does that. Thanks Scotty
Thanks for all you do!
Your videos are fantastic!
That anti-fog stuff tends to attract dirt & dust as well. If you use it you have to clean the insides of your windows a LOT more often.
thanks Scotty.
I've been dealing with foggy windshield since getting my new vehicle...just watched your video and bam...problem solved!!! You are so awesome for sharing your knowledge!!!
great videos, Scotty! Keep up the great work! God Bless!
I always been using your method of aircon heater and fresh air and was told that you can't do that. But I ignored other people's advice due to visibility and safety factor. Now I know I was right.

Hey Scotty, Love your channel. Big hint!!!! No ammonia cleaners if you've got window film applied to the insides of your windows. It rots the film badly. So after I got new film applied, I started using an ammonia free cleaner that comes in a spray can. It's good stuff and cuts the dog drool and nose prints off my windows really well.
Awesome work love watching videos keep up the good work !!!!
Thank you Scotty for your awesome tips.
4:32 " Schhhhmearing Up "😄 Love u Scotty!
Years ago, when I was a young man, I traveled the world seeking the meaning of life. At the base of an unnamed mountain range, I found a village of simple people who told me that a wise man lived at the top of the largest mountain. I shielded my eyes from the sun and looked up, only to see the top third of the mountain was hidden behind white, fluffy clouds. I set out with two guides, and the best climbing gear money could buy. Halfway up, my guides turned back, fearful of the conditions. Another week later, I clawed my way over the peak, my clothes torn and ragged. There, I saw a glowing light in the center of a serene plateau. My strength spent, I crawled toward the warm light. To my amazement, it was a man, floating gently above the ground, meditating. I crawled closer and collapsed at his feet, unable to move. "Please share your...knowledge...o' wisest of the wise..." I gasped. He opened his eyes and looked down at me and said, "Rev up your engines!"
Saboth good one 😆
You write better stories than CNN, bro.

Thanks for the info Scotty!
What a very good information Mr.Scott. greetings.
Love those blue towels. I've even run them through the laundry and re-used them. I hate rain-x. It's more of a prefog than a defog.
Fred Lamb Where can you buy the blue towels? Thanks!
Another great tip from a time tested, trustworthy and reliable source of wisdom, Scotty Kilmer!
IG and Scott towels are also both time tested and reliable. (Heres a tip: A stitch in time saves 9:
Instead of simply 'spray/wipe/done', best to buff until no streaks are visible. Spending a little more time and attention to detail will help ensure your windows stay looking great longer and reduce the overall times needed for reapplication.)
EXCELLENT advice you give LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, and you are FUNNY and FUN while doing them. Keep on doing what YOU do BEST.
I love watching your videos. Entertaining and informative. Thanks
Shop towels are great!
Very useful little treats!
Those blue towels are the bomb. They are basically paper towels but they are so tough you can literally run them through the washing machine and reuse them!
They're basically paper towels on steroids. Good for buffing and hand drying as well since you can squeeze the water out of them and reuse to your heart's content.
I wrap them around hot dogs and eat them!!!
Especially scotty brand!
