  • 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 says: "The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." In this short video, Paul D. Gardner connects this verse to the Old Testament and explains what the Apostle Paul meant.

Very weird for me to process.
Stating it as "the sting of sin is death" is obvious every second of every day.
People die. Loved ones are taken away from us.
It's horrific, traumatic, vile, soul-sucking and cruel beyond what anyone should have to process.
Stating "the sting of death is " the result" of sin or "the punishment" for sin"
    makes sense though.
"The sting of death is sin" is a weird statement for me for sure. It's like saying death would be GREAT if it wasn't for sin.

When Jesus died and rose again. Death couldn’t hold him like it had done everyone else before, so that’s where the victory begun.
