@@boostedbruhhh N54 could make the power but couldn't hold it. B58 makes a better successor because it's just as overbuilt as the 2JZ, meaning it can actually reliably hold the power too.

Still, nice video, and I am a big fan of the B58, as I own an M140i, tuned to 455bhp./634nm.

@@ctoeasy6960 Unless he's had the engine apart, and fitted uprated internals, along with other mods (which is possible and good luck to him if he has), then 700BHP at the wheels is not possible.
Even Pure Turbo's own development vehicle isn't running that.

It took Pure Turbo's months of development to get their own test car past 660 with their hybrid turbo.
Yes I know there are other bigger turbo's you can fit, but 700bhp is not 'easy' to achieve at all.
@@DjNikGnashers because it was a new platform at the time. Now there’s a lot of aftermarket parts available for Gen 1 and Gen 2 B58 it is fairly easy to achieve. There’s a G20 M340i making 860whp on stock internals using a 6466 turbo plus other bolt ons

No they can't. Pistons have started cracking at 650-700 wheel range. His motor is built. There have been more popping up lately on stock blocks making 700, but are they on the limit? Yes.
And when I say built, I mean he has upgraded pistons in his car.

No
don't listen to this guy, yes you need to build the trans for these power levels. The ZF in these cars can RELIABLY push around 500 wheel torque, a ZF rep a few years ago on the bmw forums posted about this when the 2 series came out. Once you get to 700-800 hp, it is only a matter of time before the trans breaks. Any high HP zf b58 runs into the clutches slipping, and especially breaking when launching the car at these power levels. Plus high HP b58's have seen cylinder scoring. Tuning a car to over double it's original power output is going to break shit. I bet the engine or trans blows up within 6 months, even sooner if this guy really thinks his trans is built for 700hp and beats on it. Go to any facebook or bmw forums about tuning this cars and you will see the posts about blown trans and engines with big turbo installs.
@@skylineOwnZall we use real world testing and results not what we heard from our “boy” or saw in the forums, with that being said we have multiple stock trans m240/340s making over 700whp and 700wtq with no slip yet.

I wouldn’t do 700hp with stock motor. 600hp with stock motor is the limit. A few guys have blown their motor with 700hp. By the way they should offer a spare driveshaft with the package.
