A respectable depth piece. I don't think he's as good as Michael Wilson or Greg Dortch, but he's a nice luxury to have incase any of them regress or get injured. It's also a one year prove it deal, so not a lot risked if Jones doesn't see the field much or doesn't gel with Kyler.
Also gives Marvin and Wilson a chance to learn from a veteran wr
@@mikehoncho2942 Technically we'd already signed Chris Moore this offseason for that purpose, which by the by, this signing does make the Moore signing feel a bit unnecessary, not that the 2 million we gave Moore is alot, but its still 2 million we could have invested some where else, when all Moore really gave us was a veteran presence in the WR core, which is now redundant with Jones. Sure we didn't know we'd get Jones at the time we signed Moore, but I honestly can't imagine Moore wouldn't have still been available at this point if we didn't find some one better (like Jones), and I feel some one like Tejhaun Palmer is a better fit for a WR5 (or 6 if you consider Zach Pascal WR5) since he's both cheaper and has a higher ceiling, so we'd probably have been better off holding off on signing Moore till we were sure we needed him, rather then jumping to sign him so quickly after trading Rondale. Again, not a HUGE deal, its a 2mil contract, but every mil adds up in a league with a cap.
Michael Wilson was less than impressive last year. The transition to the pros takes a while. But availability has already been an issue.

you guys need to hold off your panties..some of you are acting like as if we are about to win a SB in 2024. There are still so many issues in this franchise and you cant really expect rookies to be playing like seasoned NFL professionals. Zay was expendable from the Jags, that should say a lot there is to say the productivity of Jones. Let these players perform for a couple of games in 2024 and then decide where this franchise is headed. Or else you gonna go sour pretty soon the moment this team is 2-7 midway through the season

He’s definitely not injury prone he has missed 10 games in his 8 year nfl career 8 of them came this year just got a bad injury that hindered him for the year he will come back healthy
Zay Jones isn't a superstar but we don't need him to be all we really need from him is to be a solid receiver for us. Kyler has said if they protect him he can make a mediocre receiver a pro bowler now we can see if the was right. i like the pick up
