It is confirmed that ITV, one of the commercial funded broadcasting company in the UK, is ceasing its transmissions after 72 years, such as shutting down their streaming service ITVX, and passing their torch to the oldest broadcasting company; the BBC.

ITV would never just shut down suddenly. When their linear TV channels do shut down, it’s gonna be a while away.
Aftermath:
Channel 4 and the Welsh S4C, after the death of its original owner, ITV, also shuts down after 45 years on air.
BBC becomes the sole channel, along with the only other commercial channel after ITV's closedown, Channel 5.
All of ITV's programs were either moved to the BBC or Channel 5.
CITV programs moved to the CBBC and Cbeebies channel.
STV programs were moved to BBC Scotland, or BBC Alba
UTV programs were moved to BBC Northern Ireland.
S4C is sold to the BBC and merged with BBC Cymru.
ITVBe programs were moved mainly to BBC Four, or in some occasions, BBC Three.
Due to schedule congestion, there is an instance of a BBC Five.
And then we have new regional independent variants

London TV - Greater London
Granada - Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester

More realistically I think it would be the otherway around. The BBC would go to ITV first!
Mistake: At 1:54, the TTS voice is mistaken "the App Store" as "App Stores".
The TTS voice used here has an American accent. ITV is a British TV channel, so a (charming) TTS voice with a British accent should be used instead so that this can feel more realistic and authentic. Plus, they would never say anything like "see you never" in official TV announcements.

Yeah nice touch, although not something not all of the regions did at closedown.
It was though a recording of the anthem used by the BBC -the slow version usually reserved for the deaths of senior members of the royal family.
I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t say "see you never".
At the end it should’ve said, “Happy New Year, and goodbye.”

pretty sure even if they did shut down for good they wouldn't go out playing the national anthem, and if they did it's unlikely they would use the version the BBC used to close down with. Those days are long gone!
True and not only is it BBC's version, but it is the slow version for deaths of senior members of the Royal Family, not the standard version
Some regions might have used the same recording as the BBC.
Its a good concept but ive got 2 questions:
1) Why is the announcer voice not British?
2) How is this an eas? I get how its a TV mock but in what way is it an emergency?
I think the announcer is an Anglised Canuck.... which makes it slightly better!
It’s all a scam it’s not real I’ve checked with itv and they are only getting rid of sd tv and making them all hd viewing just another channel with fake content I’ve reported it

Would have been better saying ITV will no longer be available on satellite and terrestrial TV and will now be streaming. As they have just signed a new 10 year franchise, and as STV has nothing to do with ITV, that would have been a better Mock.
At least there would be a reason for the BBC to shut down, in the event that the TV license gets abolished. ITV would never do that, except if linear television is declared obsolete in the near future, and at that point, they'll have to make the move to streaming. Same with Channel 4, Sky, and everyone else.
@litlblkhouse ITV has just signed for 10 years same as channel 5. In 10 years linear broadcasting will be gone. ITV will probably be owned by Comcast or Disney, Channel 4 and the BBC merged and Channel 5 rebranded under Paramount

It isn't. UTV and STV are seperate from ITV and are, I think, all that remains of the old regional companies still actually broadcasting
UTV is now owned by itv, since October 2015. STV is seperate, the channel 3 licence holder for Scotland.
