      It is funny because the only gt bike I ever owned bought from our local wholesale store when I was 16, and it was a gt aggressor 27.5 hard tail 21 speed from our wholesale store, lol. But damn, that bike was still great lol

To this day I don't think she has a clue how close she was to killing me, but she was going about 70 in a 50, head down the entire road and missed me by an inch. • @Oper8or
    @Oper8or Před 2 lety +1

    Nice vids Phil! One thought though, just because the green trail bores you, some people ride those because its all they are comfortable doing and don't care about going big or progressing. They just enjoy the ride even on a mellow trail like that.

      @topspot4834 Před 2 lety

      Not being snarky but what's your point? We all know what green trails are for, and what other people ride is their business. If they're having fun that's all that matters. Your comment insinuates Phil was either unaware or talking down, which IMO he did neither of.

    I see it blurring out at times when in the woods on this video, and have in the past as well.
    Not that I care, because I’m watching every second regardless.

    • @SkillsWithPhil
      @SkillsWithPhil  Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah, GoPros get a lot of shit but we are literally asking them to do one of the hardest jobs. Filming fast action packed footage in lighting conditions that range from super bright, to super dark (sometimes both in the same shot) is really challenging for the camera to adapt to and get it right. Then CZcams is a whole other beast. Millions of videos are uploaded daily, so it's in their interest to make file sizes as tiny as possible to save on storage costs. They take your files and compressed them to a smaller size which reduces the quality significantly. The footage i see and the footage you see end up being way different

    What kind of armor do you wear again?

      Barely anything. Just my helmet and flimsy knee pads. I started out wearing much more padding when i was more prone to crashing

      @@SkillsWithPhil another great video! Would you ever consider doing traing videos about how to read jumps and mitigate crashes. My son is a big fan and has his own channel, the DH Junkie. His last video shows him over estimating a jump and has brutal wipeout. He can hit all the bigs at Whistler but sometimes reading jumps on mountain trails seems tougher. BTW, absolutely love how you can pick really cool lines on a trail.

      @@SkillsWithPhil thanks for the reply! I think since I am so new to MTB I should have all the things for protection. Been a skateboarder for 20 years and just now got into the MTB scene, I’m hooked. I prefer the use of gravity for the fun after taking a ride on a lift versus biking up 😂 but it’s all super fun and you and your videos have helped me understand the basics of biking and have increased the amount of fun I’m having riding in the bike parks near me. Thanks for all that you do, you are a great resource!

      @@TheWmac67 a video on crash mitigation? Nothing personal but that's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. How would you even begin to explain how not to crash?
