Due to the height of the bike and the space between the fron tire and the bike itself it tends to wobble a but after id say 180-190 km/h adjusting the suspension helps a bit but doesnt fully solve it , not sure what suspension setup he was runing but you can notice the track experience he has so it didnt bother him at all, on the road you usually wont be hitting those speeds but if you do dont be scared, it’s normal just make sure you are ready for the wobbles , dont panic and hold it. You will be fine
Mine does the 'wobble', but not all the time. The front tire does not have the weight on it like a sport bike and the suspension has a long travel. And since the front end is so high, wind can affect the wobble too along with how the front rises on full throttle (and the 1290 has some serious grunt)I just ride through it and it's never turned into a tank slapper.
@@Hitman1962-vf2ql ‘other adv bike are slower and less lean angle’. 🤔 but multistrada v4 is equally as fast and doesn’t wobble at all. I say that as a ktm 1190 owner and ktm fan that is tired of hearing new bikes still wobbling like my 2014 does. It’s not acceptable period. I’m debating multiv4 over new 1290 due to wobble but the off-road ruggedness of ktm is what keeps me interested. I have talked to so many new 1290 owners dealing with wobbles it’s crazy on $20k bike.
@@jonasbaine3538 Others do! Crazy wobble on my old CRF1100AS at over 100mph with panniers on. The SAS is much more stable but would benefit from heavier oil in the standard steering damper. Or maybe some canards. Putting all of your weight over the front keeps it at bay easily - I’ve had over 135mph on the SAS with very little issue.
What a rider, what a machine!
Thanks!!
My favorite description of the 1290 SAS is from BIKE Magazine..."An All-Roads Missle disguised as an Adventure Bike"
I almost feel bad my 1290 will never be pushed to that capacity. Great Riding Senior.
✊🏼😄
Not bad for a scruffy old adventure bike, I love mine beyond words. Frightens the hell out of lots of sport bikes
Nice handle! Loved it when the pads got contact and you kept chill! Good rides mate!
Thanks mate 🤘🏻
This is WOW, you deserve that machine!
Reminds me on that 44teeth video of Fagan with the 1290 SAS on track 😂

I also did a lot of trackdays with my SAS. I feels nice kicking ass to liter bikes. 🙂
The machine is truly a beast but the rider is definitely a different animal!

It seems to spend a lot of time on one wheel.
