    One clarifying comment about how team matching interviews are formal interviews -- when Erika is saying that you need to "show up" professionally instead of being casual, she is referring to your attitude and the way you communicate, NOT the way you should dress or outwardly appear.
    There's plenty of internet documentation about what to wear/not to wear to a tech interview.
    This comment is more about the posture you choose when you describe yourself, your past work, and your goals and ambitions for the team you're interviewing with.

      ​@@LensLiebe Yes! It took around 3 weeks to get an update from them. I got approved and went to the virtual onsite, wich were 5 interviews on the same day!
      At the end of the day I got the feedback that the positions from the team I was applying for were all deprioritized and should come back by the end of the year. The good news is that I went very well on the virtual onsite that they'd like to move on with me as soon as the position is back!
      Now I'm just here waiting and hoping it comes back eventually hahah. Anyways the balance is positive since I got approved through the process, and the position being deprioritized is out of my control.
      The timeline was:
      Jun 21st: Application date
      Jul 8th: Recruiter screening
      Jul 21st: Phone interview
      Aug 24th: Virtual onsite
      Sep 9th: Feedback from recruiter about the results and the good/bad news
      I'd like to thank Erika for her content! It certainly helped me to move forward with my application and to get the good results I've got! Keep rocking!

    Thank you for not adding the background music. Your voice is very pleasant and crisp and background music is quite distracting in other videos :)

      Oh really?! Is there one video in particular where you find the background music too annoying?
      I've been playing with the volume to dial it in, but sounds like there are at least one or two videos where it might be too loud. Would love for you to share the links so I can understand which ones are the most problematic for you.

    I'm through 2 recruiter and 2 technical screens (tpm and security engineer) and now waiting (been about 10 days) for scheduling to set up the 5 panel. I'll post again with my experience if I get through.

      Good luck on your virtual onsite Steven! Don't sweat when scheduling takes time.
      Scheduling can take a few weeks, esp for higher levels since your interviews are thus higher levels and likely have more intense meeting schedules for the recruiters to work around.

      @@sruthiunnikrishnan8547 - How long did it take for you 5 panel interview to get scheduled? Lot's of people are finding me on LinkedIn and sending questions? Google definitely has its own timeline.

      I would say to watch the FAANG TPM Interview Process Ultimate Guide but you already commented on that one, so I think you've watched it :)
      At this point, you have a strong hold on the logistics, format, and what to expect.
      To prep for the interview, you should watch my behavioral interviewing videos (there are a few), Why do You Want to Work Here, and Tell Me About Yourself.
      It goes without saying that if you have a phone screen or other first round interview coming up, I recommend that you take my First Round Ready course.     In case a match is not possible and you are asked to apply again after some time, do you have to go through all the interview rounds once again?
    I am sure that won't be a good candidate experience since it's not the interviews during which the candidate was rejected?

      It depends on how much time has passed. Usually if it's less than one year, you don't need to go through the 5-interview panel. You will still do team matching though.

    Hi, I have got call from recruiter for TPM role at Google, is it right time to go on with this opportunity? As i saw huge layoffs from Google

      Safety in tech right now is an illusion, if that's what you're going for. The safest place to go is probably a series A or series B that just raised. Until tech booms again, it's going to be unstable in the big techs.

    What is the difference between TPM and Engineering Manager? Or Google TPM is just synonim for EM?

      TPM and EM (engineering manager) are different roles. Engineers at Google generally only report to EMs, not to PMs or TPMs.
      Most TPMs are individual contributors until L5+, and TPMs can report to other TPMs or to EMs. But EMs generally do not report to TPMs.

      Yes. I've been seeing this more recently. I've had a few candidates who had one a day over two weeks, though none as long as five. I believe it's just a way to slow the flow or interviews and won't be a long term process change.
