Back to the review! The Sri Lankan business class flight review covers my flight from Melbourne to Colombo. It features the Qantas First Class Lounge at Melbourne Airport, boarding, take off, the new Sri Lankan business class seat, the Sri Lankan inflight service including their wonderful crew and delicious on-demand dining. I also cover take off, landing, the inflight entertainment system and the Sri Lankan Airlines business class amenities kit.

I loved the food in this service - right up there with the best I've had. Flying ex LHR to Indian Ocean destinations Sri Lankan business is really well priced and avios can be earned as per BA.

Sri Lankan’s Business Class really is a huge improvement and seems to be on par, or even better than, a lot of their Western counterparts. Also, I see what you mean with that carpet in the Qantas lounge , made me feel a bit dizzy just watching!

Great video as always Dennis! Looks really great! Given the incredibly cheap round-trip business class fares from Sri Lanka, I've always been tempted but never pulled the trigger. But with this it's worth doing it for sure!

Rain isn't th problem but lightnings are not a joke.

Every time I fly Colombo - Melbourne in Business Class, I prefer to go with Singapore Airlines. The seats, the service, the food and onboard entertainment can't be beat. Sure Sri Lankan have the direct route advantage with no stopovers and they price it more than the Singapore flight, but hey a few hours in the Singapore business lounge being spoiled while you're in transit isn't that bad a proposition! Also given that Singapore uses the A380 and newer A350 on some of the SIN-MEL flights, it just makes for a more pleasant trip. One thing I do like about the Sri Lankan Business Class is that the meal options really do cover everyone. As someone who is steering away from red meat for health reasons, I find it great that the choices included; chicken, lamb, salmon and vegetarian options. This means there is something for everyone. In some of the previous business class flights Dennis has flown, it was sad to see the choices limited to just 2 options and both of those being red meat options. If you only eat chicken and/or seafood then you would have nothing to eat so credit to Sri Lankan for that! I hope you had a nice time in Sri Lanka Dennis. I know your company has an office here so I'm sure the staff are always happy to see their boss drop by ;)

Excellent as ever. Apart from the lack of storage seems a good improvement on the previous iteration. The table seemed too small but then saw you managed to have your laptop out on it pretty easily so maybe not as bad as it looked.

I do wish they supplied PJs and mattress toppers, it would influence more to choose them. Still they seem decent and friendly service goes a long way to make a passenger happy.
It's always great to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of a smaller carrier. Especially if they are actually getting better and better.

Looks like a massive improvement to the old business class which I really didn’t rate. (The crew was amazing but looks like they’ve stepped it up in terms of food)
Awesome video mate! The new seat seems quite similar to Cathay Pacific's and Finnair's Business Class seat! The seat was a huge improvement from the previous version.

Wow, I impressed that Sri Lankan has dine-on-demand, not overly common in business, as you said, only Qatar and Etihad have it, so interesting to see Sri Lankan up with those heavyweights.
Pity, Srilankan has discounted their service to HKG. Even they have used a narrow body aircraft on their route to CMB in the past. Anyway, nice review Dennis. Looking forward to some reports out of the mainstream airlines. Especially in Africa or mediterran e.g. Egypt Air.

Old design for the seat, but still reasonable except maybe on the storage front. It's very similar to QF First on the 380's, just a little smaller - and everything works, unlike on the QF seats.
Yeah those QF F seats would be getting pretty old by now. EK F has the same issue on their older aircraft
Sri Lanka seems very much adopted to tourism industry because of that reason they have upgraded sri lankan airlines very well..Sri Lanka,Singapore and Maldives seems my favourite countries in asia now..as a sri lankan i wish one day both sri lanka and sri lankan airlines can be like singapore and singapore airlines

if you go to SrI Lanka reasonably regularly It could well pays to initially buy a one way ticket to CMB and then buy a return ticket to Australia and use the return leg on your next trip .Its cheaper I've found Two good places to stay are Colombo Swimming Club and if you are going to Kandy Summit View House is great value , The views are magnificent and they have a good Pool
