- Ofra Haza ABC News Feature Story - On the US ABC Television Network, Ofra is interviewed by ABC News Tel Aviv Correspondent Dean Reynolds.
Dean Reynolds, an award-winning reporter who has covered major stories from datelines around the world, was a CBS News correspondent based in Chicago.
Reynolds had been a correspondent for ABC News for 23 years, reporting primarily for "World News" as well as other network broadcasts and platforms. In addition to major domestic stories, including President Gerald Ford's funeral, he covered many presidential campaigns, most recently that of Sen. John Kerry in 2004 while based in Chicago (1998-present). Reynolds also covered the campaign of Gov. George W. Bush in 2000.
He was based in ABC's Dallas bureau (1995-98), where he reported on stories throughout the Midwest and Southwest, including the Oklahoma City bombing and the trial of Timothy McVeigh, as well as his eventual execution in 2001.
Before that, Reynolds was assigned to ABC's Tel Aviv and Jerusalem bureaus (1986-95), from where he covered the Palestinian uprising against Israeli forces, the first Gulf War, the Arab-Israeli peace process, the war in the Balkans and the influx of Russian immigrants to the Jewish state.
Previously, he was based in London (1986) for ABC and, while on assignment in the Moscow bureau, he covered the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. He joined ABC News as a Washington-based correspondent (1984-86), where he covered the Pentagon, among other beats.
Reynolds was a White House correspondent for CNN (1982-84) during the Reagan administration. Before transitioning into broadcast journalism, he covered that beat for United Press International (1981-82), where he also was an editor and reporter (1971-81).
He is the recipient of three Emmy Awards, as well as the White House Correspondents' Association's Merriman Smith Award for excellence in presidential news coverage for his reporting on the shooting of President Ronald Reagan.
Reynolds was born in East Chicago, Indiana. He was graduated from Wabash College in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. He lives with his wife and four children in the Chicago area. He is the son of Frank Reynolds (1923-1983), the late ABC News anchor. - Hudba

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Ofra during a visit to Los Angeles in 1993. I just wish the quality of the photos were better. However I did get a photo of the two of us together.

I am learning of this “Gem of the East” for the first time today. However, today is not the first time I’ve heard this amazing voice.
Rap Duo, Eric B and RAKIM produced a hit called Paid In Full in 1987. It samples Ofra Haza’s opening lyrics to her hit “Im Nin Alu”
That hook takes a rap song and makes it “Mystical” with the melodic addition. Love it!
Thank you for uploading and sharing the new both interviews of her. Yes she was unique and will be unique in Israels history. She builded bridges and showed people around the World how Israel really is. I became a fan of her when I was nine. I'm a german (42) with turkish origin I still remember the day when I saw her first in German Tv. Today I'm a owner of a big collection of her even when she is far away today she is close to our minds. RIP Ofra
I discovered the amazing talent of Ofra Haza by accident. Many years ago, while in a CD store, I saw her collection and decided to take a chance and buy Desert Wind. After listening to the CD, I was totally a fan and purchased everything that was available. I still remember the day I heard on the news here in America that she had passed away, and I was devastated. She had so much to offer to the world of entertainment. May she rest in peace.

TO ALL: Ofra was a myth in her era... a fully and professionally singing performer, co-author of most of the tracks... a very rare person where it is not possible to put the border between the person and the character... of course many of the trivias about her are incomplete: the most undercovered were too private to get interest, the most discovered were yet so public that could seem obvious... just two things can remain at today: the vacuum in the heart and the disputes about her legacy... as the only male son of the only husband, only shai aschenasi may represent her under jewish laws, and i send him my condolences even if after 18 years... no pain no gain, it is told!
TO THE ONES WHO “👎” THIS VIDEO: please be clearer: whom against? Against ofra? Against the news-channel? Against bezalel aloni? Against yemenite jews? Or against her role of “ambassador of israel”? YOU SHALL REMEMBER what israel was 18 years ago... the peace dialogues, the acceptation of palestine, the reduction of the invaded lands... ofra was “ambassador of peace”, and at that time israel was building peace... of course ofra, today, should re-think at herself, because being-a-jew is not strictly equal to being-an-israeli...
