Before you get the game, do research. Right now there are 3 factions, nobody works together and shoots everyone on sight. Watch pestily's videos to get an idea of how the game works. You have to deal with alot of shit, because its a risk vs reward type game, you can lose all your gear from one asshole with a mosin nagant or a shotgun. There is nothing in this game that makes you completely bulletproof like in real life. If you do get the game, remember this one thing, its not the firearm that matters, but the type of ammo you use in the firearm. You will suffer at first trying to use FMJ against dudes with level 4 body armor. The game is fairly realistic so you should watch guides before you jump into it. Again pestily is the largest streamer in the community and he has guides for the game.

I know this is late but that guy you said got his head blown off look a little closer get the scav was hit in his left shoulder look closer he gets splattering from the body next to him.
12:28 - Literally, when throwing grenade he is Shouting "Подарок!" - "Padarok" - "Present!", but not in the meaning "Take my present!". He is shouting not to the enemy, but to his teammates.
This a code-word to indicate that friendly grenade is being thrown, like "Fire in the hole!", and it is opposite to "Граната!" - "Grenade!" - when enemy grenade is spotted.
The reason is that enemy is expected not to understand meaning of the word, so he would not be alarmed by the shout.
The word itself is not standardized, so the group chooses it's own code-word for this. But "present" is kinda cool and sarcastic.
Yeah, this caught me off guard at first. I studied Russian in university and I spent a summer in St. Petersburg studying there, but I'm glad that this has subtitles, even if they're imperfect. Slang is hard to keep up with if you're not in the area that a particular language is spoken, and military jargon is also hard to keep up with at times. Thanks for your explanation here, man.

I have been playing this game for 3 years. And as Nikita Buyanov, the game developer, said, if you want to have fun after work, you don't need to buy this game. I completely agree with him. This game can only be played if you have nerves of steel, eggs of steel and a non-stick chair.
There were 2 bodies near each other. That BEAR hit the other corpse with control shot and it spoiled blood on that SCAV so he thought he is dead. At 5:10

Game is still under development , but so full of content that it is totally playable and enjoyable... or enjoyable might be wrong word here. It is meant to be hardcore survival shooter, with rpg elements. Shitload of different mechanics.
I've got 30y of pc gaming behind and this one is hands down best game ever. And most frustrating thing ever. It is worse than your first 3 weeks in army. (been there too) But when you succeed, there is no other game giving that same feeling.
It is not balanced or optimized yet, and constant changes going on, new content coming etc. You need decent pc to run it and you most likely still need to tweak shit to get it work right. But still worth it.
It will never be easy game, so if you have good muscle memory in some shooters, you can throw it out from window. In this game every gun, armor, backbag, carry weight etc. affects to your movement, aim, shooting etc.

Hi gen! In the game you are able to choose between 2 PMC factions the BEARS which are russian operators also all their voice commands are in russian, then you have USEC which is the american counterpart. You also have 3rd faction which is the Scavenger. As PMC you gear up on your stash (menu) and headout to instance based maps where you do quests given by traders, loot equipment and stuff, or look to kill other players, after you decide you have enough loot on you, you start looking for extraction points if you manage to get out you get everything you looted. Each time a round starts you have set amount of PMC's in the map and random no player characters (NPC) scavengers. If you die in the raid you lose all the equipment you brought in with you.
You can also play as a scavenger every 15 to 20 minutes with random loadout given to you, and a random spawn point. The player scavengers spawn at random point in the raid like for example, if the duration of the raid is 40minutes the PMC operators spawn in the first 5 minutes, with the NPC scavengers, then like 20 minutes later people can join the game as player scavengers.
You have to bear in mind that the game is Hardcore survival fps, if you are not familiar with pc gaming, you will have a really hard time and will be very frustrated. You have to look into alot of excel sheets to know which ammo is good and which is shit. Which armor is good etc etc. Penetration values and alot of other stuff, if you have questions feel free to hit me up on discord or youtube.

Finished all 4 epidodes, and really need ep5 soon.
Haven't played it, but follow one of the most interesting players, Pestily. He's ex Australian military, living in the Netherlands. He posts daily, and has some great tips in his videos.

Also go for the middle package and play a good few hours in offline mode :)
When i first watch it I was blown away.
Good to point out the car thing. A lesser known and played tactical game is Insurgency Sandstorm and that is commonly an issue. MGs will tear through even 2 concrete walls and get you from the other side, cars will get swissed cheesed and anyone behind it is done. Bullets, velocity, and caliber matters heavily.
Basically explaining some lore part of the game, there are 3 main sides in the conflicts: USEC, the western PMC that is more or less a private army of Terra Group(who are good guys on the outside but God knows what are they inside), BEAR, the Russian PMC actually made by the goverment and is mostly Russian ex-soldiers, and finally we have Scavs, the outlaws who stayed in Tarkov to get some income. Tarkov city itself is a blocked territory which you cannot leave legally since its considered empty, and now all the factions have to survive. Also there is the forth side that is more represented in game which is traders, but they appear in game only when you are in a lobby.
So yeah, pretty easy yet not easy.
As for the game, it's kinda hardcore but you get used to that rather quickly. Also, it has a lot of Russian and overall Slavic in it, starting from where it happens following with scavs being stereotypic gopniks with so many easter eggs for russian-speaker that you may need to translate it if you don't know the language to not lose some content.
Your reaction to the video is awesome, I watched it lots of times and it still feels more than a movie watching it.

Just found this channel but yeah the gist of the raid series is Skif, the main character, is trying to find his group who deployed without him. So he’s with another search party to track his old group. There’s more to it but that’s the basic context.

So it's two private military contract companies duking it out, for context, one is the USEC (united security agency it includes Britishs, Germans, American (pretty much anyone in NATO) the Russians private military contractors are called "BEAR" which I can't remember the Russian name for the company. The scavs (scavangers) are just locals who got in the cross fire and became bandits to survive, the first dude with the shotgun that got shot, survived and wrecked skiff is a bandit (scav). The dudes with plate carriers and M4's are USEC. Basically they got into a massive shoot out and fucked the city up with the bandits doing their own wrecking and they got trapped in the city for survival. They aren't allowed to leave, the military has everyone locked in until they move in to secure the place. At one point NATO gets involved (they call them UNTAR in the game) and it makes the place even worse. You're basically trapped in a shit sandwich without the bread. Raid follows the story of some of the surviving BEARS. It also tells some of the USEC stories. Tera group (the people that hired USEC) is responsible for the entire event to begin with when they did some illegal shit. USEC aren't the good guys, but neither are the BEARS. It's a story of every fucking group being shit bags so far.

The game is very...homework. Like it doesn't tell you anything you need to know to be effective, so you have to read wikis and spreadsheets. But once you get past the hump it is rewarding. It's sort of like what if Dark Souls was a shooter if that makes sense?

And game itself is really good but hard and love it for that reason :D and on these raid episodes shows pretty realistic way how hard differed situations are, u will see and understand what i mean on future episodes. And if we see ya playing this game (ill hope) one tip is audio on this game is really really really important :D

Oh I fear the day I see an RPG in Tarkov patch note. Did you know this babe got the highest kill score in all recent conflicts on post-soviet territory? You'd think the AK should be the leader, but it's actually the RPG-7.
I'm sure most people wish they could do raids with 8+ people. Doubt firefights ever get this crazy though.

Some gunfights in the game (in some places) looks and feels just like in the series. EFT is hard and unforgiving. You definitely must try it.
The thing about Tarkov is that the game itself isn't as intense as the firefight in this episode. However, the game is all about the fact that one moment things are calm and fine and you're looting, and the next moment it's absolute CHAOS! And it's the most incredible fun!
As a Russian, I am pleased to know that the work of my compatriots is also watched abroad. I just want to emphasize a couple of points. Firstly: The game "escape from Tarkov", it is still under development and is constantly being supplemented, although it has been available for the game for more than one year and as they say in Russia, this game is gun porn.
Secondly: In Russia they speak two main languages, Russian and Russian obscene. And sometimes it is impossible to translate literally the Russian swearing language, since the majority do not know how to swear in it correctly. And the team that filmed Raid did a lot of work trying to translate the light expressions and curses as accurately as possible. So for example the phrase "Еб*ло завали" [Yebalo zavali] 11:01 translated as "Shut the f*ck up" but this is a very short translation. A real translation of this entire short phrase, capable of conveying all the fullness of emotions: "You, the person whose face I would put in the toilet, must close that dirty hole from which I heard this, because you have no right to tell me what and how to do! "
There are also short symbols for different actions:
"Трехсотый/Триста" - Literal translation "Three hundred", but in fact the designation of a wounded soldier;
"Двухсотый/Двести" - "Two hundred", in fact the designation of the dead;
"Красный" - "Red", is a symbol for reloading.

if your heart is racing with the videos experiment the game. it's brutal in every level of expertiese, even the players that have years of game experience die and die over again.
I recomend to you the raid series from pestily, he plays it from the beggining and you'll get a view of the game, he is a really skilled player and evem him die several times.

If you wanna play just rmb to ask someone skilled to guide u. I play solo and im bad after 200 hours in game. There’s a lot of homework to do b4 u play the game. Learning different maps. So its better to get someone experienced to bring u in. Trust me this will speed things up alot faster.

I honestly prefer you Brits reacting to this. I watched a couple of American "Vets" watching this series and all they do is laugh and swing dicks. Like when someone tries to point them out on some stuff, they reply with some disrespectful remarks. You on the other hand, appreciate that not everything revolves around American/Western military doctrine.
Sooooo, the game is nothing like this. There's no 8 v 8 fights. But it is a great game, if you like getting the shit kicked out of you. There's no tutorials. No information given at all. The ballistics are the most insane of any video game. The healing is extensive as hell. First aid, surgeries, bleeding, broken bones, black out limbs. I would recommend if you play it, have someone help you out. I didn't, and it took like a month to get the handle of it. It's the only game I play now though, I'm addicted. But it's brutal. You have a stash, that's full of guns, armor, food, meds, ammo, etc. You bring in what you have, if you die and someone loots it, it's gone forever. So you can literally run out of gear and have nothing to go in with. But the fights can be intense, and when you get the hang of it, it's great. But some days everything goes well, and others, nothing does. The Developer said he wants the game to be like actual warfare aka "not fun".
And they're not trying to escape. There's two groups in the game, USEC and BEAR. They're russian and American private military companies. They both are just on jobs essentially. The Americans are the "bad guys", finally lol. The guy who got shot in beginning is another character you can play as called a scav, its a random loadout, that isn't yours, so it's basically free money if you make it out. When you thought his brains got blown out, they hit the already dead guy and his blood covered him, so he didn't get hit.
These videos are amazing and everyone who watches them says "man, I really want to play this game." But I would definitely put in some research before you buy it. And definitely don't spend the $140 dollars on EOD edition, unless you fall in love like I did.
So there is 4 episodes already(more to come). U HAVE to check ‘em all) and definitely play the game. In squad it’s even better. I can team up with OriginalHuman and BootneckGamer) hell yeah, it will be good

the 4th episode is the only weak one, its more story based and less action. The second and third are the best ones! 3rd is my favorite
It's not weak, it's developing the story. This is apparently being turned into a TV show by a big company. And the beginning of episode four is a better fight than any Jason Bourne movie.
