- Watch the Official Walkthrough for the new Hollywood Orchestrator Horror Pack. We'll be covering the 26 new heart-pumping presets that were designed for scoring everything from supernatural thrillers to monster movies. Not only will we be showcasing each preset live, but we'll also talk about scoring horror scenes in general and how you can use these presets to create professional soundtracks in just minutes.
The Hollywood Orchestrator Horror Pack is a FREE upgrade for all ComposerCloud subscribers and Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition owners. Make sure you upgrade to the latest version of Opus and Hollywood Orchestrator to gain access to the new horror presets, which will be in the Scores folder in Hollywood Orchestrator and organized by these four themes: Modern Horror (8 new presets), Supernatural Thriller (6 new presets), Classic Chills (6 new presets), and Monster Movie (6 new presets).

Wow - how lucky am I? I'm making a film for a 48-hour Horror/Sci-Fi competition in 12 days where time is of the essence. I'm using Orchestrator (and possibly Forbidden Planet) to score it. The timing could NOT be better. Thank you for this!

Orchestrator to the fullest!
As others have stated, these are helping us all create better music. For myself, personally, I love to have these sounds at my disposal, to drop in or out. Without intensive orchestration training or attempting to have someone with this under their belt help and, then imagine, having to try explain to that person, that what they come up with, is not really what you had in your heart for the song, then this is a game changer. For someone like myself, creating pop, country, song based, rather than narrative based musical songs, folk etc, then I’m quite aware that these genres don’t always gel but, now at least we can get our feet wet without diving in or getting lost and, with where I’m moving, which is into what I coin as, more spirit based music again, in recent years, then these packs are simply the missing link to getting you on track fast when concentrating on so much more. Orchestrator sets the stage, like say Ozone gets a mix almost ready, when mastering at home. I’d love to see packs for pop, rock, soul and as I coin it, spirit. As with Fab Four and knowing your Beatles fans too with how they used sound, then sure you know what I’m getting at. For now, as a solo producer and not a team, thank you for bringing this light into what has been for so many of us, a bit of a mysterious world until now ❤

In order to use these patches do I need to have all the Opus libraries installed or is there a way to download the instruments needed for the patches like in the search function of Opus? Very new to East West so It's a bit overwhelming for me. Thanks!

Update Opus and Hollywood Orchestrator, these new horror presets should then be under the Scores category in Hollywood Orchestrator

The Orchestrator presets are not separate downloads, but if you have the latest version of Opus installed, all of those presets are in the Orchestrator's scores section.

At 24:48 you say that the "easiest way to access Orchestrator is by subscribing because of all the libraries required to run Orchestrator". So does that mean if I purchase a perpetual license of HO OPUS Edition, which includes Orchestrator and all of these Expansion Packs, that none of them will work because OPUS Edition doesn't include all the instruments required by the Presets? If so, what's the point of offering a perpetual license at all then if it is hamstrung by constant "sorry, you don't have the library to run this, so GO SUBSCRIBE!" prompts? I REALLY hope that is not the case. Anybody out there who owns OPUS edition perpetual know the answer to this? I'd like to take advantage of the current sale, but need to know the answer to this first.

⚠️ I don’t have the time to sit through a 25 minute review of your amazing software to find out whether or not it’s compatible with Apple‘s logic pro X. I would assume that if we could import these sounds into Apple’s Logic Pro that you would be screaming that from the rooftops would you not? 🤔
There’s nothing in your video description either that addresses what DAW software this is compatible with or if East-West software is a standalone program that cannot be used with other DAW software. Why this issue so ambiguous on all of your videos is puzzling.

I upgraded to Opus from Play but I don't see this Horror Pack anywhere in my EW Installation Center. I see all of the individual Opus Edition Instruments. Is the Horror Pack supposed to be in it's own folder, sort of like "Forbidden Planet"? I can't seem to find any info on the website either. Any help you could give would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I found it by opening Hollywood orchestra, then under “preset browser” select “Scores”. Then you can download them.
